Enjoyed your video neighbor! Last week was the first time I was able to check out how my Tacoma drives under snow/ice conditions. Under 4H, it had zero problems and I didn't lower the tire pressure. I have the stock Goodyear Wrangler tires on my 2020 TRD Pro, I'm happy with the performance and gas mileage (24 mpg from Concord to Charlotte) and yes I was gentle on the pedal. I average 18 mpg for the most part. With that said, once my Goodyear tires start to wear, I plan on going with the BFG KO2s. I'm looking forward to your future videos

Everyone in our area puts 250# - 300# of sand bags over the rear axle during the winter for better traction

I got my first truck in July of 2022. It is a Taco TRD off-road. love it so far, just took it in snow yesterday , kind of icy area. forgot to pop it in 4hi at first and slid a little bit, boy was my wife pissed, lol. now I know to hit that 4hi next time. going again soon.

Coming from a Canadian that lives way up north in snow and ice you don’t wanna air down technically you want a narrower tire to cut through the snow gives you better control

I had a 01 Trd extracab and it had excellent traction in the rear. That truck had more forward bias being the cab was further forward from the rear wheels. The doublecab has better balance with that cab pushed back further near the rear wheels so traction should be better.

I didn't feel it doing that at all when I was doing donuts, but yes when I was forcing it to slide while driving around the road ways the ABS and other systems would activate. They do their jobs well I was just forcing it to slide. You can hold down the traction control button for several seconds until you see it deactivate all the systems on the dash if you can't want it to stop you and have some extra fun. These systems are turned off automatically when you go into 4 Wheel Low.

So if you hold the traction button down for a few seconds it turn it off. Hold it again a few more seconds and it disables everything. Be in 2nd and there you go.

Correct, the Tacoma doesn't have a front locker. Speaking as both an Engineer and from just personal experience neither of those things matter much in most driving situations. As are all other vehicles specs they are subjective. Depending on many factors and needs. I have driven rock crawlers that can't be driven on road at all. I have had Rubicons, Land Cruiser, Land Rovers, on and on. Each with their own unique way of doing things with their installed equipment. If you want a Tacoma for a front and rear locker, there are always mods 😂
