Nice video. I just spent an afternoon getting prepared for taking our praise and worship band out on the road. I needed to figure out to save my settings, and this video did the trick. I also learned about loading track presets - I didn't even know I had these !!!! Thanks for the video lesson - awesome ! These presonus boards are remarkable !!
Cool VDOs. Thanks so much 4 charing them. I have watched the entire tutorial more then once and still learning a new step every time. Very well explained.
I appreciate these videos so much! I've watched the entire playlist and I'm going back through and watching a few again to make sure I understand them! I'm a sound tech at my local church and I'm going to show these videos to the rest of the techs so that they can have at least a primer knowledge before we get into mixing theory and all the other details. Thank you!!
Yep, your videos are helping me to make up my mind as to what I want to buy. Basically I do sound for Vineyard church, and have been using the 01v, and had hoped to upgrade to the 01v96 - but this may also be a contender. I have to be wise cause church can't afford their own desk, and I am buying the desk for use with their gear. In return I get to serve there and borrow their gear from tine to time too. 31band EQ on every monitor is a nice addition, but lack of DAW control is a disappointme
@jeretl Yes you can switch scenes on the fly. No blips or delays, happens instantly. Just keep in mind that the faders aren't motorized, so you have to manually move the faders to the recalled position. All of the EQ and dynamics settings change instantly though.
You use the LED meters that normally show the subgroup output levels. When the meters are in locate mode they work the same way as the meters on the input channels.
Yup same and only solution I came up with as well. Not that it's really a problem, I was just looking for a direct "delete" function no biggie though just an extra button press(scroll whatever hehe) to grab the blank and paste it and it accomplishes the same thing. Thanks for the reply! Nice vids too easy to understand and very informative. Thanks for all your effort!
Ok, so I bought my Presonus 24.4.2! I have not gigged it yet at a service, but have been practicing with it at home, getting used to it. I went to mixoff.org and downloaded some other musicians multitracks, imported them into capture and started mixing. It's well cool!
Great videos. I have watch all of them probably 3 time each. Thanks so much... I do have a question. When recalling a scene I loose all my monitor settings. Is there a way to recall them?
@fouhaj You can delete the first 2, but the last three won't move. Example: if you save to scene preset 50,51,52,53 but you delete the presets stored in 50 and 51 then 52 and 53 stay in the same spots they were. If you want to move a preset, load the preset you want to move then select the preset number you want to save it to and save over that preset. Then go back and erase the preset from the other spot if you would like. Think of each preset spot like a cube in an ice cube tray.
Thank you so much for the detailed response as usual:) But how do you delete a scene, I dont see a delete function on the display, do we do it from the mac VSL
Wow I was completely about to give up on the presonus until I landed here, how can one ever thank you enough for this well worthed tutorial, so excellently made and explained, Thank you so so so much, I'm on to part 5 now, I hope you can help me with these 2 questions I have, you mention about rising up your speakers levels to distorting and then pulling back, but when a venue or bar has people in the very last thing I want to do is blow their ear drums out, how do i get round this, is it by keeping the main fader on the desk down, no that don't make sense do it I'm cutting the sound then going to my speakers, and then what about setting up my active subs levels, 🤔 also with regards to plugging your guitar directly into the desk is this not right and should it go through a di box first, I've plugged my keyboards directly and they sound perfect but my electric guitar and acoustic don't, and finally adding reverb and delay to my guitar channel how can I do this, I have my vocal reverb and delay set to sub 3 and 4, but last night I seem to have my reverb riding along the main also and can't take it out of here, I'm learning, I'll get there eventually, but your videos so far I'm taking notes to put into practice later, but seriously thanks for this amazing amazing free tutorial, patron saint of the presonus digital desk, also finally where do I get to find your cheat sheet on setting up my individual instruments and vocals etc, ✨👍
When you go to recall a scene you'll see a list of parameters on the screen that all have a no or a yes after them. Mute, FX, Assigns, EQ etc etc. Anything that is set to no will not be recalled when you recall that scene. If your monitor mixes are being lost check and make sure that "Aux Mix" is set to Yes. To change the settings hit the Next and Previous buttons and use the encoder knob to change the yes's and no's. When you're done hit Recall.
I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I have a question and maybe you can answer it. I need to be able to switch entire board scenes on the fly during a production. If there is a sustaining instrument playing (like a synth), and you switch scenes, is there a break or "blip" in audio while the scene loads? Is it a fraction of a second, or several seconds? Maybe you could try it out for me. Thanks!
Is it possible to set up a preset in UC then have studiolive follows it when i connect my tablet to the console. I have a preset here that I set up on my tablet but would love to know if it will work when I connect tablet to the mixer borad?
Our church has a drum kit setup with two stereo channels available on the board. How do I know specifical how to create a preset specifically designed for these drums. The presets already on the Personas 16.4.2 don't really seem to fit.
I can't figure out how to delete a scene? Can you help direct me on this. I have the 24.4.2 Love it by the way. And I have worked on nothing but Midas and PM4000 for years and this puppy sounds very warm like a Midas and dare I say it sounds better than the 4k or anything that company makes actually. Hate to harsh like that but it's the truth. This is the ultimate console for the price thus far...Any how i digress any help on how to delete a scene would be great! Thanks in advance!
Not really any way to "delete" a scene. You can overwrite them though. You could load the first scene that zeros out the board and then go to the preset you want to "delete" and save over that preset with the zeroed out settings.
Unfortunately there isn't a preset for everything. Try experimenting with settings to see what sounds good and what doesn't. Check out my other videos about using the Fat Channel.

Thank you so much... you are such a GREAT teacher! This is all I needed to really get started on my mixer. Presonus should so HIRE you.
Thanks a lot for all these lessons!!! and you are not boring to listen to at all =)
Your videos ROCK! Had to learn the basics quick when our worship / audio guy was out. Thank u.

This is the fucking best Digital Mixer ever made, super easy and great effects.

You the man. Thank you for your service. SL is a remarkable machine, helper! Not as if learning a DAW app wasn't enough. ; )

Very helpful vid.. just had one question.. it can recall fader levels, can it also recall Gain levels?..

just what I needed. thank you!!
Great videos - thanks - for some reason there are no effects presets - just says *empty location* - please advise if you can.
Thank you for a great to the point video.
thanks..you explain things well and very easy to understand. I am an old analog mixer though so I suppose that makes it much easier for me.
Great tips and do appreciate what you have shared. God Bless :)

Yes it does. It's in the menu screen.

Do you know how you would recall the subgroup faders?
Thanks.
Great videos, all of them, quick ?, lets day we saved 5 scenes but I want to delete the 1st 2 scenes, can this be done, if yes please how,
thanks
@NakedDisgrace No, you can't recall gain levels. The gain knobs are analog and not motorized.
Is it possible to set up a preset in UC then have studiolive follows it when i connect my tablet to the console. I have a preset here that I set up on my tablet but would love to know if it will work when I connect tablet to the mixer borad?
awesome, exactly what I needed to know! Thank you.
Our sound guy relocated so these video trainings have been great in 2020.
Our church has a drum kit setup with two stereo channels available on the board. How do I know specifical how to create a preset specifically designed for these drums. The presets already on the Personas 16.4.2 don't really seem to fit.
@fouhaj Technically no way to "delete" a scene just overwrite it. So you could "delete" it by overwriting a scene save after zeroing out your board.
Good job on the videos. Great help. Thanks
Is there a way to see what presets have been previously loaded to a scene channel?
wwhen you recalled the faders why didnt they adjust automatically. You actually had to move them back to the levels. They are motorized right?
Thank you 🙏
What do you do if you want to delete a setting you made?
You're a good man.
can you save a mix but not everything just the drums?
oh ok... thnx for your help , awesum vodeos
I can't figure out how to delete a scene? Can you help direct me on this. I have the 24.4.2 Love it by the way. Have you Ever lost a Channel on this Like Your Left Channel On has the Drums and Right has Music and Some Drums??
I have no presets in my board, how can i get them?
Not really any way to "delete" a scene. You can overwrite them though. You could load the first scene that zeros out the board and then go to the preset you want to "delete" and save over that preset with the zeroed out settings.
I have problem freezing GR, how do I solve?
pretty useful video. thanks. Godbless:)
On the new StudioLive AI series mixers yes. But not on the original StudioLive mixers
Due you're awesome
You can't see what preset was loaded to that channel.
Digital mixer wout moving faders :) In this case i prefer to buy Midas VF
Unfortunately there isn't a preset for everything. Try experimenting with settings to see what sounds good and what doesn't. Check out my other videos about using the Fat Channel.
@acpgiga I think..... don't have the mixer her with me. It's either 99 or 50...... :)
No they are not. The the lights on the board just show you where to move the faders to.
You're not able to save a scene of just a few channels and not everything else.
@acpgiga 99
@NakedDisgrace
what the hell are vodeos?!?!?.. lol.. videos!.. my bad
