Thanks man! This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought an R500 sprayer about month ago, but knowing I would need a new compressor. I've been looking at this Vevor 6.3 gallon with 2 hp compressor (which you used), as well as the California Air Tools compressor, but that only had 1 hp yet 8 gallons. Thank you for helping me make my decision. My project is spraying guitars but I got tired of the rattle cans, and I wanted to mix my own color coat as well. Thanks again King.

Brilliant video mate. Just snagged myself a 6.3 cfm compressor and gonna grab myself a R500 on the results you've been getting with it, hoping I can refurb my alloys with it. Keep up the great work and Hi from the UK 👍🏻
Hi UPK, Enjoyed the video. The Vevor 6.3 Gallon Air Compressor has a 2HP motor and it uses1450W. Converted to amps and we get approx. 12A. A 16/3 extension cord is rated at 10A 50foot in length. Run the compressor for a little while and the 16/3 extension cord gets hot draws to much current and the breaker opens. At a minimum you could use a 14/3 extension cord for 50 feet and the compressor should run fine. Resistance (length) is the key over 50 feet. 50 - 75 foot and I would use a 12/3 extension cord and 100' go to a 10/3 extension cord. A 10/3 extension is expensive.
Thanks for that information Danno🙏🏽💯 I’m gonna try that and hopefully it works for me, Triggerman used a extension cord with his so I know it has to work, Thanks again 💪🏾
Hi UPK, I forgot one thing. Please make sure the wall outlet that the compressor is plugged into has a 20 amp circuit breaker in the breaker box. A lot of wall outlets are 15 amp circuit breakers. A compressor even a small 2HP one draws 12 amps. As circuit breakers age with use (20+ years) like in a shop condition over time they tend to weaken a little which is natural. Better to have it wear out than have a fire. You have anything else running on that circuit (even some lights) and attach a compressor on an extension cord and the circuit breaker will trip. Just something else to consider.
Great vid, thank you! I would like to get the same compressor and LVLP spray gun. Did you use a dryer between the compressor and the spray gun? If so, which do you recommend. Thank you and keep up the helpful videos.
I appreciate you checking out the video 67scout and I didn’t use a dryer between the compressor and gun I just used a filter at the end of my spray gun

@UndergroundPaintKing I appreciate your quick response. I do have a compressor. From your experience what gun would have low overspray, low material consumption, and can do prime/base/and clear? Or would the cheap Harbor Freight be good for primer and a gun you recommend for base and clear?

I have four questions 1) Vevor spray guns HVLP (?) and LVLP (R500), there is not much difference in cost so - if you had to buy only one which would you buy from your painting experance? I have in the past 1970 to 1980 use a siphon gun on diy cars. I am a retired engineer doing wood working and will use the gun for wood finishes along with 3 car hoods I need to paint. I lean toward the LVLP spray gun for the finer finishes. I know from you videos the HVLP throws a lot of product and should get the job done quicker. 2) Will the LVLP do the same job but a bit slower, spraying primer surfacer with the1.8 tip and spraying the single/two stage paints with the 1.3 tip? Looks like from the video on the HVLP GUN the adapter for the throw away cup system came in the Vevor box. In the LVLP video I did not see the adapter taken from the box. 3) Does both Vevor HVLP and LVLP guns use the same adapter to convert to the throw away cup type systems? 4) Will this adapter work for both HF and 3M type systems. I like your videos a lot!! They are helping in understanding how the painting system have changed from the past. Keep up yhe great job. Bill😊
If only choosing one spray gun I would choose the one best suited for my compressor, if I have a small compressor I’m going with the lvlp, if I have a big compressor, I’m going with a hvlp. The lvlp will do the same job and depending on which one you get will be just as fast as some hvlp spray guns and you can spray primer with the 1.8 tip and single stage with a 1.3 tip. There are male and female adapters for the spray guns depending on which one you go with and they will work with the HF/3m pps cup system. I hope that helps Bill and I appreciate you checking out the videos 💯
Beautiful result! I'm from a detailing background and just starting out with spraying. I know manufacturers produce cars with 2-stage paint, but why don't resprayers/refinishers like yourself use single stage for their jobs? Seems a lot quicker for equally good, if not better results. Thanks for the educational vids. Subbed.
I appreciate you subscribing to the channel and I honestly think base/clear (2-stage paint) offers more UV protection over single stage in the long term which is why a lot of people choose to spray clear over single stage which really is like doing a 2 stage paint job 🤷🏽♂️ but it’s pretty much depending on the situation and the customer on what’s best to use when it comes to the paint in my opinion
This is exactly the video I was hoping for! I bought the spray gun on sale from Vevor. Looks like the compressor is next. Just one question: Is the Vevor compressor really that quiet or did you adjust the video volume? Thanks again. Great video!

I tried painting slower like you did but I ended getting runs. I usually press the trigger all the way down. Could that be the reason. Do you press the trigger all the way when painting? Nice job on the paint.
Yes I do squeeze the trigger completely Israel and in your situation you may need to adjust your fluid so that you don’t have a lot of material coming out
I told you about the trailer I have to paint if you remember. It's for a friend. The trailer has a 6X8 bed, but it's 14 feet from the back to the front. He also wants the wheels painted. Considering I have experience, what should I charge to paint it? I told him $400, but I would like to know what you would charge for the regular guy coming in looking for a Rustoleum job. I'm still using a spray gun, but I'm painting it outside on a tarp. He doesn't want to spend much money. He already paid for the paint.
I honestly don’t know what you should charge to do the trailer, I don’t know what you have to do as far as prep work but I think 4-$600 is a good price range
