I wouldn't classify "The Good Shepherd" as being even remotely accurate, based on dialog from Nicholas Dujmovic, CIA Staff Historian. It's Hollywood that gives us all that dark "skull and bones" garbage that the world has been eating up, initially, myself included, until I saw that documentary, in which Nicholas Dujmovic speaks in detail everything that was wrong with the movie. Search his name, the title is "Hollywood, Don’t You Go Disrespectin’ My Culture: The Good Shepherd vs. Real CIA History" Whether there are those involved in these secret societies, it's not known for sure, until it is, and which one's are. God's Word has a way of weeding out the lies from the Truth.
Of course you left out better believable spy movies like; AGENT CODY BANKS. BAD COMPANY. I SPY. LEONARD PART 6. THE MAN WITH ONE RED SHOE. SAFE HOUSE. STORMBREAKER. THE TUXEDO. VOLUNTEERS. XXX STATE OF THE UNION.
Operation Mincemeat is the second film based on this true story. The original version appeared shortly after the Second World War, but did not contain as much detail and some events were altered, because of government secrecy rules.
I liked the good shepherd but it really needed to be longer and maybe 2 or 3 films as it is it feels to fast and by the end it feels like beyond a few characters the others you barely know so there twists and turns dont really mean much
As much as I liked _Argo_ as a movie, it took a lot of liberties with the real-life story. For instance, casting Ben Affleck (who isn't Hispanic) as the real-life organizer of the plot Tony Mendez (who is).
Not sure if Heroes of Telemark qualifies as a spy film. It is about the TRUE story of the destruction of the heavy water plant in Norway. It also portrays the tragic, but necessary, sinking of a civilian Norwegian ferry to destroy the heavy water as it was being transported to Germany. That sabotage caused the deaths of many innocent civilians. It shows the true heart break of war.
You should mention Five Fingers (a good rendition of the real story). And The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. You project the idea that only recent films can do a good spy film. The old ones were not all Dr No and Ipcress File. (Good, entertaining, but not factual)
The "Tinker, Tailor..." (with Alec Guinness) miniseries is way better than the movie. You just can't do a good job in the theatrical release time limit.

XXX STATE OF THE UNION.
Wait…so Spy Kids and Agent Cody Banks weren’t documentaries!?
They were not. But True Lies was remarkably realistic. 😉✌🖖
I still get angry when people say they haven't heard of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It's a flawless film
I enjoyed the BBC 6 hr TV miniseries with Alec Guiness more than this 2 hr version which does have an amazing cast
I enjoyed reading the whole Karla Trilogy as well as both adaptations of the story.
I think i got my hopes to high after years of hearing about it the film was good dont get me wrong but felt light
Benedict Cumberbatch is an ACTUAL spy... ACTING is his cover 😂❤
I dunno as a brit his American accent raises an eyebrow lol must sound funny to Americans too
@@dun0790 Nobody has an English accent. English people are playing a prank on the world.
Sunset paradise
I really enjoyed the old BBC adaptions of le Carré with Alec Guinness.
Cumberbatch is in half of these!❤
The Brits do espionage the best. "Smiley's people" and the "Callan" series and anything with Micheal Caine playing Harry are top notch.
Both Smiley BBC series with Sir Alec Guinness were amazingly good
You got it, man @@stevekoutros9358 👍
For as simple as it was, you would not believe how many times I think of the trumpet line from Smiley's People.
Three Days of the Condor? The Spy Who Came In From the Cold?
Tinker tailor soldier spy is a complex film, but it’s so enjoyable and well made
Operation Mincemeat is the second film based on this true story. The original version appeared shortly after the Second World War, but did not contain as much detail and some events were altered, because of government secrecy rules.
You forgot the best spy tv show to exist… K.C. Undercover😍
I LOOOOVE Operation Finale!!
100% right on number 1 -- Tinker Taylor Spy.
Sub-titled: how many times can we feature Benedict Cumberbatch in one episode?
How about Charlie Wilson's War?
Love accuracy in movies! Thanks guys🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love your spam
these are great films. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and The Good Shepard are masterpieces.
Not a movie but a 3 part tv series the company is really good and recommend
What about “Army of Shadows” directed by Jean Pierre Melville?
I liked the good shepherd but it really needed to be longer and maybe 2 or 3 films as it is it feels to fast and by the end it feels like beyond a few characters the others you barely know so there twists and turns dont really mean much
Is bond surfing down a glacier on the list?
great list, thanks

The better adaptation of Operation Mincemeat is The Man Who Never Was made in the 19502.
The forgot the most important one: The Falcon and the Snowman
I was waiting to see the movie Argo (2012) in this list. At least I think it can be classified as a spy movie.
As much as I liked _Argo_ as a movie, it took a lot of liberties with the real-life story. For instance, casting Ben Affleck (who isn't Hispanic) as the real-life organizer of the plot Tony Mendez (who is).
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold?
I will not be friends with people who dislike espionage/spy thrillers.

So most accurate like spy movie ever not on list Zero Dark Thirty.
Also doesn’t even have Body of Lies maybe I should work there.
I hate the ads to many, usually I don’t watch it because of the ads every 5 mins
Historically Accurate? I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Oh, you also forgot Double Cross.
I love tinker Taylor
ARGO
Number 10 was good but original co-starring gloria graham was better.
What about Argo?
Spy Kids.
I think you meant Spy Kids, in which case I concur.
Hello good afternoon
The Russia House
That is a truly embarrassing way to say John Le Carre's name.
