Probably their most obscure b side included on one of their best ep. Brilliance. This is interesting effort, as it include a Sad but True remix this is something between Snivilisation and In Sides and starts carrying that type of sound.
I honestly dont know but if I were to make an educated guess, I would say Alison Goldfrapp as she featured on a lot of Orbital's realeses around that time.
Thanks. Goldfrapp was indeed on another track on the very EP that this tune is from. But she recorded original vocals for them. My understanding is that the vocals on Times Fly are an actual sample. Someone on Discogs says the sample is "New Age Travellers" but I don't know who/what that is...
@@whiiteshirt7192 "New Age Travellers" is referring to the sample in Sad But New (another track on this ep/single) - a quote by John Major (old UK Prime Minister)
@@tintintb1980 Thanks. I don't suppose you know who they sampled the vocals from for this track? The band themselves said the vox are sampled, but wouldn't say where from.
@@whiiteshirt7192 One of life's little mysteries. I looked high and low for that info a while back. I (and many others) have speculated that it might be Phil Collins but the brothers have never publicly said where the sample comes from. If you're interested in any other samples used, this is quite a good resource. Happy hunting :) www.whosampled.com/Orbital/
One of my favourite tunes of theirs, has all the hallmarks of classic Orbital, backwards vocals, brooding melody, dnb breaks..... its perfect

Ashamed to say I'm just hearing this for the first time now, and I call myself a big Orbital fan! How did this pass me by...Awesome :-)
No shame in it. The Times Fly EP seemed to go under the radar a bit.
It was really hard to find in the States in the 90s.
This song was on the original double CD, but was removed a few years or so later on the updated printings.
I got ahold of Insides on CD in the States around the time it came out. It was a double CD. The second one contains this track.
Make the lyrics what you make them, let your imagination and compassion for everything roll together, it’ll come to you.
Remember having this cd , ep ? Had a picture of a watch mechanism on the front cover if i remember correctly. Probably still got it somewhere.
I haven't heard this in yonks. I have it on CD somewhere. Note to self. Find it and play it very loud like you used to.
can you heal our hearts please...... there's noone to love us... can you heal our hearts, please.
Beautiful

Times flys to the 9th gates of heaven
The pond chicken sashlick burger
100th like!!!!
Yes... but 2 people didn't like it so mathematically you are the 98th :(
listen to it..its Goldfrapp
No, probably not here. I would not trust those warped samples as female source.
Who's the vocal sample?
