    Honestly those budget brass monkey fridges perform amazing well.
    40 plus days in the NT and -20 no problems all day
    I’ve also got an upright one not so good.

      So true! I couldn’t fault it for the price. It was around $200 and it did the job for me for over a year

    The only reason I see to getting the 79 dual cab, is if you want to bring your family or friends with you. If not, then get the 76 or 78 right. Built in canopy right there.

    Hi Mark.
    Great video that you've set up there today, mate.
    Keep up the good work. And I hope you do have good holidays to enjoy in the future.

    With your tie down points, was there a reason you didn't just use a threaded eyelet with a square washer into a channel nut directly, instead of mounting another rail to the strut? Great video mate

      Hi mate, good question. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the correct eyelets so I went with this instead. Gives me a bit more flexibility for mounting the fridge but will probably swap these out for an eyelet later if the tracks don’t stay put. So far so good though

    Hi Mark, great video. I am doing a similar set up on 76 and wanted to see if you have to use 12mm ply or 18mm marine grade for the base. Thanks

    • @NorthOz
      @NorthOz  2 місяці тому

      I used 12mm standard ply but this was not enough to hold any weight without a support under it. Marine ply is stiffer so depending on the length of your base you may not need a support. I recommend 12mm marine and supports under it which could be bits of scrap wood to support whatever weight you are using. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have any questions. Shoot any questions through to my Instagram. Happy to help

    I thought the fridge at the headboard would have got the weight in front of the wheels for stability rather than behind the wheels Mark?

      Good question Richard. The fridge weighs less than the drawer and the power setup that sit forward of the axle. The fridge only weighs around 20kg

    How about insulation on the ceiling to reduce heat.

      Hi mate, I don’t find it gets too hot in there surprisingly. I may stick some foil board in there when summer comes back around but won’t be rushing to do it
