Robbie was the biggest pop star in 3/4 of the world in the early 2000s. Biggest selling non-Latin artist in Latin America, huge across Europe and in New Zealand/Australia. He sang at the opening ceremony of the last 2 Football (Soccer) World Cups, in Russia and Qatar. In the U.K. he is the biggest selling solo artist - he has sold more than 20 million albums in the U.K. (we have a population of c.60 million, to give you a sense of scale). He holds the record for Brit Awards (British Grammys), for the most No 1 albums of any solo artist, and for the biggest concert attendance (125k a night for 3 nights at Knebworth). That’s a snippet of the Knebworth gig at the start of this clip. He also holds a world record for the most concert tickets sold in a single day (1.6 million) for his 2006 World Tour. The reunion tour he did with his former band also hold the record for the most nights sold out at Wembley Stadium - 8 nights. Taylor Swift’s Eras your did 4 nights there, to put that in perspective.
America is an introverted country. It's quite a worrying fact when they practically run the world. Maybe that's why we have so many problems on the planet.
"I've never heard of this song before...". Do you have any idea how insane that sounds to any EUROPEAN?! Robbie Williams was the BIGGEST artist everywhere, except the US, from about 1995 - 2005 and this song is MASSIVE across the globe! Oh, and he's sold 75 million albums worldwide WITHOUT the US market...
As an American that is in the know, I shake my head in disbelief he is not known here. Robbie Williams is one of the many, many reasons I gave up on US radio decades ago. It's such a tough market and there are so many good songs out there we're missing. RW is a prime example.
He's one of the highest selling artists of all time, and was voted the most influential artest of the 90's by the British photographic society, but he stayed out of the American music scene for the most parts. I just heard him on Frosted Tips Podcast where he said it's been kind of on purpose so that he could live here with his family in somewhat normalcy.
I didn't even know this existed, so thank you for this reaction video. You really need to check out Robbie singing "Angels" live at Knebworth. It's a massive crowd, and the crowd takes over the song, to the point it makes Robbie very emotional. You get a much better idea of the impact of the song from that performance.
Yeah, Robbie is a natural showman, despite his performance anxiety. Absolutely huge everywhere but America. A good starting point is "Angels", but a good solo reaction would be his show opener live, "Let Me Entertain You." Completely over the top with a killer backup band as well.
Robbie “fairly big”….he is a global star - everywhere except the US. He’s been performing since he was 16 - you need to watch his Knebworth concert to appreciate just how huge he is. I was there on the last night and was the best best concert I’ve been to - and I’ve been to a lot. He lives in LA because he loves the anonymity he has there, he hasn’t ever been comfortable with the attention that his fame has brought despite being a huge showman.
+1 for Knebworth reaction. I've never thought to describe a music concert as "gripping" before but idk how else to explain it. At least do Feel, Come Undone, and Angels.
Yes you should listen to Angels original single. It was a massive hit all over the world but maybe not ,America? It's actually a very popular choice at funerals. Strange but true And mentioning George Michael he would have been 60 this week
Yes, Angels is Robbie’s biggest hit. It’s a real grower - one of those songs that gets better the more you hear it. It’s deeply embedded in European culture as a song you sing along to - it was the last song they would play before kicking everyone out of a bar/pub/club for years. It’s known for being popular at christenings, weddings and funerals. In the U.K. it was the most-played song at funerals for years. So it’s a real soundtrack-of-people’s-lives song - one of those songs that is now bigger than the artist. Even though the artist has had a huge career.
Huge in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and Latin America. And did pretty well in Japan. North America and China are the only places where he is unknown. And to be honest Americans who watch BBC America will probably be familiar with him even if they don’t know his songs - he is very funny on The Graham Norton show.
i think i heard this song at almost every concert i've been to shortly before the supporting arttists/artist came on and every time you could hear every single person in the audience sing along I was at a Harry Styles concert yesterday and before the show started most sat down on the ground and when Angels came on you couldn't really hear the music being played anymore, just everyone singing along and it was beautiful like being in a park sitting on the grass under the blue sky and being part of a huge amount of people singing the same song, hugging each other and feeling the feelings i have actually known this song all my life (i mean it is 8 years older than me) and know how well known it is... crazy to think it isn't that famous in the US
RW is the highest selling recording artist worldwide of the 2000s decade. His solo career started in 1996. His career began in 1991 with Take That - a boyband which has also sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, including a top 10 hit in America. RW has so far sold 75 million albums (pure) worldwide - which is still higher than Taylor. He has also grossed more than $600 million in concert revenue (solo) and over a billion dollars with Take That. You cannot become bigger than what he was.
What I enjoy about when Taylor brings guest artists on stage is the utter respect and gratitude she shows. She has done a lot of over the years with some of the giants of the music industry
I am, by no means, Robbie Williams biggest fan.. but. This song is as close as an anthem gets for British crowds whether you’re a fan of his or not. I remember being 18 and the the song the clubs would play kits before kicking us out was either this or Oasis - Wonderwall.. for Taylor to bring him out and play THIS song at Wembley is a cheat code, like I’ve said I’m not a massive fan of his, but if this song was played and he was brought out at a gig I was at.. I would scream every word. Amazing.
Feel ancient saying this but I remember when Angels came out (1997!) Angels was absolutely massive at the time, was always the last song in the SU bar and clubs. 26 years later if this song is played in the UK, it’s one you’re born knowing the words to, we all sing along! Loads of other great songs too 😊
I happened to find myself at a Robbie Williams concert once, when a friend of mine got sick on the night of the show, and she offered me her ticket. So there I am, not even a huge fan, and it's easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to. He's just an amazing entertainer with a lot of great songs.
I'm 38 and I remember hearing this song when I was like 12 years old and it made me cry. It's one of those songs that is a classic cuz it's so well known. I'm surprised you guys have never heard this song before. It used to get lots of airplay back in the day. I remember people calling in at night to the radio station KOST 103.5 FM and requesting that song. Good times 👍.
Fun fact: Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson are good friends since they were both judges on the XFactor UK in 2018. They even gave each other a tattoo.
Robbie Williams is one of the best selling recording artists in history 😂 Around 80 Million records sold globally. He also holds the record of the most UK number 1 albums in history, beating out Elvis just last year.
Ryan, Elton is still on tour, dork, lol. Anyway, Reputation had so many elite guests. And as usual, Taylor is the perfect host. That song was actually made more popular in the U.S. by Jessica Simpson. Another entertaining reaction. Thanks gents.
He hung out with George Michaels when he was very young after he left his boyband Take That who was massive and redid the song Freedom. Elton loves him, and there are many songs I hear Elton in Robbie. Robbie passed Elvis and is the 3rd person to receive the Icon award next to Elton John and Bowie. By the way Elton was the one that did an intervention years ago and put him in a rahab. He's great now, married to an L.A. girl, 4 kids. And still selling out stadiums. Robbie is massive in the uk, south america, asia, europe. He decided to come back and play in vegas and sold out for weeks. Americans remembered him from 2000 and wondered, like I what happened to him. He was hiding in America where no one knew him. He decided he rather have anonymity than fame in the USA
You have just heard ‘Angels’ a modern anthem. Robbie is a brilliant entertainer - check out his Royal Albert Hall concert where he swings the place. Robbie is huge everywhere except the USA. Check out him singing Angels at Knepworth in front of 370,000 fans - a clip Of which is at the very start of this video
Thank you very much for your reaction. First, loved your participation with the hands lol. I was like - OMG when Ryan joked about Alton being dead, my heart sank to the floor for you Nathan. Robbie Williams has overtaken Elvis Presley to become the solo artist with the most UK number one albums. Robbie is an excellent singer, you must listen to him more. He has a lot of amazing songs. Funny you talked about Elton John and George Michael. The first solo song Robbie performed after leaving his band TAKE THAT was George Michael's 'Freedom' - ua-cam.com/video/eZ05LV-EKYs/v-deo.html (1996) . Elton John is like a father figure to Robbie throughout his life - ua-cam.com/video/j1AStdQkfr8/v-deo.html (this is just a funny part of an interview where Robbie is talking about elton john + a story in bono's house, U2's band lead singer (2019)). I recommend you to see Robbie's performance at Knebworth (2003) - ua-cam.com/play/PLBbWa3lUCo1uYCFJ53NvFDcMBSw25sRQD.html (just choose any and you will love it, highly recommend on 'me & my monkey'), the swing performance when he performed Rat Pack covers (2001) - ua-cam.com/video/KHV2diZwSx8/v-deo.html , or the performance he performed at LIVE 8 (2005) - ua-cam.com/video/hWEdYb8FE_w/v-deo.html . If you are interested in more recent content, it appeared at the 'BRITS' closing ceremony (2017) - ua-cam.com/video/YqaQ3iyOhbw/v-deo.html . He is currently on tour all over the world (except the United States), I saw him twice - in Israel and Greece, he was perfect! I have posted a number of videos on my page if you would like to see current content (my personal favorite song - ua-cam.com/video/cZbwDXqu2YA/v-deo.html ). Sorry, you asked for a recommendation lol. 😂😂😂😂
If you wanna see something special, check out his Knebworth concert. Or his Swing when your winning live show at the royal Albert hall. Or just every Robbie video...ever lol
OK! Immediately, I’ve been gone for a few days, come back and the first video I click on you guys have switched places and Nathan’s holding a Welp pillow!!! That’s what I get for staying offline for a couple days, to work on myself. I mean I think this is a clear sign that says I so clearly do not have my shit together No more trying to better myself😂
So he is way past his prime in this video. Before you write him off, watch literally anything from his Knebworth concert. Dude had complete command during that. We all have a peak and that was his.
This was such an amazing performance 🤩 your guys banter is everything 😂 Ty Anastasia Disney princess! U always request the best videos. Us broke people appreciate ya💖
Massive Robbie Williams fan here. Well, at least I was. But I am still a fan!! Robbie is amazing. Do check out Robbie Live at Knebworth in 2003. Highly recommend. Also, to see the different side of Robbie, his ONO Albert Royal Hall concert where he pays tribute to some of his music heroes Frank Sinatra and the rat pack. Simply awesome. Angels is an anthem that all fans know. ❤ Hee, well, Robbie is my age. He started in the boyband Take That when he was 16. Left them and went solo and became a global superstar. Except in the US of course. But for the rest of us he is a mega star. ⭐ And thanks for the reaction. I do hope you'll get back to Robbie.
Fairly popular? He's massive. Passed Elvis. Check out his knebworth concert..375,000, he still sells out stadiums. Check out his albert hall frank sinatra swing concert. He can sing pop, rap, rock, and swing music.
Elton john and George Michael? Rob would LOVE that. Elton saved his life once, actually. By sending him to rehab. You should definitely check a bunch of his stuff.
I love taylor and robbie. But you can tell that she was blindsided by how well he was received, and how big he was /is. He dominated that stage she was overshadowed! That doesn't happen very often.
Robbie’s XXV album is a compilation of his greatest hits that were re-recorded to celebrate 25 years as a solo artist. The XXV version of “Angels” is much better than the original version. “Let Me Entertain You” and “Rock DJ” are also some of his bigger hits.
George Micheal's replacement? What rock do you ppl live under? Robbie has more number one albums in the UK than the Beatles. Massively popular throughout the world other than the US.. Why? We ppl in the US live under rocks. Seriously though, any Robbie Williams song from the Knebworth concert live is GREAT. Thanks for sharing.
Im American and I somehow know that song... Im able to sing along with the chorus? Anyone in the comments reading this know if he released this is the US many moons ago?
Americans are often so much in their own american bubble, because you have enough owns artists, that they are not interested in music from the rest of the world. The same with world politics etc.
I always find it funny in these reaction videos when people assume the music world revolves around the US. Robbie Williams is legend. He has sold more records in the UK and everywhere except the US than Elvis. Knebworth 375 thousand people for his concert, which is one you should watch. 29 million views ua-cam.com/video/04wofd-rZtE/v-deo.html Come Undone is another very good one. Tons of hits to chose from. Also while on artists unknown except to blues fans from else where. Check out Jimmy Barnes - Stone Cold feat. Joe Bonamassa you won't be sorry.
This is one of those ultimate singalong songs that everyone joins in with no matter who you are. It was massive all over Europe I think.
Yes, this is an end-of-the-night-out song all over Europe.
Robbie Williams just was never that big in the USA.
He was huge here in New Zealand
He was huge everywhere, Europe, Oz, NZ, South America, Asia, apart from the States and probably Africa
IT STILL IS! 😀
Robbie was the biggest pop star in 3/4 of the world in the early 2000s. Biggest selling non-Latin artist in Latin America, huge across Europe and in New Zealand/Australia. She's doing 5 at Wembley now...she added 1 more night due to demand...i feel like she might add more dates & shows in Wembley
America is an introverted country. It's quite a worrying fact when they practically run the world. Maybe that's why we have so many problems on the planet.

Insane to any Australian too he is huge here as well. He had a sold out tour last year

“I guess he’s kinda popular”. Understatement of the century.
Robbie Williams is known everywhere but USA.
He sold out vegas prepandemic. He was shocked Americans remembered him. Massive fan since 1999 and I'm American.
What. He's known plenty in America.
Robbie “fairly big”….he is a global star - everywhere except the US. He’s been performing since he was 16 - you need to watch his Knebworth concert to appreciate just how huge he is. Robbie Williams at Knebworth is legendary.
There is only one Robbie and he’s lovely🩷💗❌❤️🔥
I love the fact she brings artists on stage and let them be, she doesn’t take their moment and it shows how much she enjoys them as a fan herself
Yes, Angels is Robbie’s biggest hit. It’s a real grower - one of those songs that gets better the more you hear it. His huge in south east asia and Mexico.

If you guys liked this, check out her singing Summer of 69 with Bryan Adams in Toronto during the same tour! It was awesome!!
Yaaasssss 💜
RW is the highest selling recording artist worldwide of the 2000s decade. His solo career started in 1996. His career began in 1991 with Take That - a boyband which has also sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, including a top 10 hit in America.

You cannot become bigger than what he was.
The part at the beginning of the video was from a concert he did in 2003 if you look it up 375,000 😮 were at that concert singing the song back to him
It was 125k per night, but 3 nights, so 375k in total for the weekend.
@@KathyD-24601 wow which venue was that where they had capacity to hold 125K people? I wish Taylor did a show over there for her Eras Tour.
Knebworth Estate. It’s basically a stage in a massive field!
I was there, it was iconic, I will never forget it!
What I enjoy about when Taylor brings guest artists on stage is the utter respect and gratitude she shows. She has done a lot of over the years with some of the giants of the music industry
True 💜 I am looking forward to more guests on the Eras 🤩
I am, by no means, Robbie Williams biggest fan.. but. This song is as close as an anthem gets for British crowds whether you’re a fan of his or not. The first part is from a Robbies concert where he did 3 nights at Knebworth, a popular concert venue with 125000 each night.
Watch Angels performed at Knebworth. EPIC
Feel ancient saying this but I remember when Angels came out (1997!) Angels was absolutely massive at the time, was always the last song in the SU bar and clubs. 26 years later if this song is played in the UK, it’s one you’re born knowing the words to, we all sing along! Loads of other great songs too 😊
Definitely watch Robbie Williams at Knebworth
I first saw Robbie live in 1998 and on numerous times up until 2020… he is one of the best live artists I’ve seen…
Robbie's been playing stadiums since he was 18 years old. He knows how to handle an audience.
Taylor was so respectful during this song She was behind letting him have the stage 👏🏻🫶🏻🙏
Robbie Williams once sold 1.6 million tickets in 24 hours. He's a bit famous.
I happened to find myself at a Robbie Williams concert once, when a friend of mine got sick on the night of the show, and she offered me her ticket. So there I am, not even a huge fan, and it's easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to. He's just an amazing entertainer with a lot of great songs.
Robbie is huge in Australia. ❤
I love me a bit of Robbie 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
Whilst I'm at it, check out: "Robbie Williams live at the Albert Hall 2001 Swing When You're Winning"... He did this in 2001 when he was just 27!
Robbie is one of the greatest entertainers and showmen ever
I'm 38 and I remember hearing this song when I was like 12 years old and it made me cry. It's one of those songs that is a classic cuz it's so well known. I'm surprised you guys have never heard this song before.
It used to get lots of airplay back in the day. I remember people calling in at night to the radio station KOST 103.5 FM and requesting that song. Good times 👍.
Fun fact: Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson are good friends since they were both judges on the XFactor UK in 2018. They even gave each other a tattoo.

this song must've been a radio hit, I've known it for as long as I can remember...
Ryan, Elton is still on tour, dork, lol. Anyway, Reputation had so many elite guests. And as usual, Taylor is the perfect host. That song was actually made more popular in the U.S. by Jessica Simpson. Another entertaining reaction. Thanks gents.
Robbie Williams only had 3 songs chart in the States and not very high, but he is a huuuuge act and pretty iconic. Nice reaction, guys. 💙🤘
Love Robbie
I love me a bit of Ryan when he dises people 🤣😂🤣😂
😂😂🤘🤘
It's the fact the rest of the world knows this song. But the usa bubble is just😮😂😂
You need to watch Robbie doing this live at Knebworth Brilliant
you should watch him at the Knebworth concert
Talking about George Michael vibes Robbie made a cover of the song “freedom” he was a lot younger in case you want to check it out 👍
"obviously the guy can sing live". That's quite an understatement.
Robbie Willams is outstanding live, Live at Knebworth is the go to but he has many live concerts , Live @ Leeds is another good show.
Also watch Robbie "Live at Slane Castle" Great concert.
Don't worry. to reference another famous pianist who got hate (Liberace) Elton is definitely 'crying all the way to the bank'
So he is way past his prime in this video. Before you write him off, watch literally anything from his Knebworth concert. Dude had complete command during that. We all have a peak and that was his.

And thanks for the reaction. I do hope you'll get back to Robbie.
Check out Robbie doing Jazz - his concert is well worth covering, you will be amazed.
I love this song
I love him

you must live under a rock! how do you not know Robbie Williams..😂
Sigh. Not original
@@WelpHereWeAreOnUA-cam but true.😂
Try "Robbie Williams Angels Live at Knebworth". Enjoy
This is so good
Robbie just didnt break in to america. But he is a superstar across the world. If you are going to do Robbie, try 'Feel' or 'Come undone'
There is so much to this song . Only the Brits get it
He brought his old guitarist
The whole planet knows Robbie, except the USA. Probably best also, bc he lives in California now and can maintain a somewhat private life.
Elton John convinced Robbie to enter rehab for Drugs and Alcohol addiction. He's a great influence in life.
LIVE AT KNEBWORTH
Mama by Genesis is one of my very favorites!!! 😅
Check out Robbie Williams live at knebworth
The first since Queen, where the entire crowd has lost their voice by the end of the concert.
Fairly popular 😂
Hilarious
Just because Robbie chose not to be famous in the US, doesn't mean that Taylor is bigger than him.
US is not the world
Robbie’s XXV album is a compilation of his greatest hits that were re-recorded to celebrate 25 years as a solo artist. The XXV version of “Angels” is much better than the original version. “Let Me Entertain You” and “Rock DJ” are also some of his bigger hits.
You really need to get out more...the first clip was Robbie Williams selling out Knebworth in the UK with 250,000 fans there
George Micheal's replacement? What rock do you ppl live under? Robbie has more number one albums in the UK than the Beatles. Massively popular throughout the world other than the US.. Why? We ppl in the US live under rocks. Seriously though, any Robbie Williams song from the Knebworth concert live is GREAT. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome?
Im American and I somehow know that song... Im able to sing along with the chorus? Anyone in the comments reading this know if he released this is the US many moons ago?
Yes, and Jessica Simpson covered it back in the day, and more recently Josh Groban and an American Idol contestant have both released versions of it.
Yes, he released this song in the States. It charted as did the songs Millennium and Feel.
Americans are often so much in their own american bubble, because you have enough owns artists, that they are not interested in music from the rest of the world. The same with world politics etc.
Yep. Good thing we’re Canadian:)
Robbie is quite famous, lol, More number 1 albums than Elvis. He never went for U.S. market for some reason. Biggest thing in the world except U.S.
Don’t insult George Michael by putting Robbie in the same stratosphere as him.
Kind of funny that after your intro,😮 you assume that of course Taylor Swift is bigger than Robbie Williams in the UK
You’re right. She’s Just the biggest in the world overall
Emma Steinbakken(20) out with her first album tonight 00:00 norwegian time! Check it out!
Taylor Swift is just one of his duets
Look up who he’s sung with ! It goes on & on. Several more famous than taylor
Over 5 mins before watching. Not cool guys 😂🎉
Robbie stealing Taylor’s concert never happens but it did that day
Who the fuck is Taylor Swift?!?😂😂😂
I always find it funny in these reaction videos when people assume the music world revolves around the US. Robbie Williams is legend. He has sold more records in the UK and everywhere except the US than Elvis. Knebworth 375 thousand people for his concert, which is one you should watch. 29 million views ua-cam.com/video/04wofd-rZtE/v-deo.html Come Undone is another very good one. Tons of hits to chose from. Also while on artists unknown except to blues fans from else where. Check out Jimmy Barnes - Stone Cold feat. Joe Bonamassa you won't be sorry.
Glad you laughed
Taylor who?
