My two young sons and I rescued a baby chipmunk the same way. It was floating in the middle of a giant reservior in the dead of winter and seemed just minutes from death. I scooped it up with my hat, put it on the bow of the boat to warm in the sun, took it home, fed it crushed pecans, and raised it to about half grown in a big aquarium. Then I turned it loose in the yard, where we would catch glimpes of it living its life for several years.
I hope you mean terrarium. An aquarium implies that you filled it with water.
@@OneTequilaTwoTequila It was empty except for some leaves, sticks, and a small box with hole in the side.
You are a good example to your children of how a real man should behave toward animals - with kindness and compassion. ❤
@@Autumn_Forest_ AWE! ☺ Thanks.
@@OneTequilaTwoTequila Just because it's an aquarium doesn't mean it's filled with water, common sense will tell you they didn't fill it with water
Thank you for being at the right place at the right time !!Your family saved the world for the pig . Your family gave the pig a second chance in life , thank you … 💜💜💜🐖🐖🐖
I bet they ate it!
Sorry , they gave Miracle a second chance and let it live , that’s what good people are made of . Thank you good people !!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖🐖
they released an invasive species into a delicate ecosystem....
😂😂🎉😮
somebody fooled hook line and sinker
So glad the family worked together and didn’t give up.
What a wonderful story! Thank you for being that pigs lifesaver!
How is this a nice story?. They took sharks dinner away :(
Beautiful people with true selfless empathy for this exhausted animal in a perilous situation.
This may be the most Hawaiian story I've ever heard, full of aloha and compassion.
Poor creature was exhausted. Good on these kind people!
Such awesome, good hearted people. Thanks for hanging in there to catch him. Your diligence was wonderful. Thank goodness for good samaritans!
Thank you for being kind to this pig. Look at my name - I love them! They are much maligned and abused. Thank you for showing kindness and empathy to this little animal. Much love.
Beautiful, thank you so much for rescuing this sweet soul. Blessings to this little one, I hope she was OK after all that and able to go on to live her life in peace and safety. ❤
These people were so kind. They really worked hard to rescue this pig and I think pig was just exhausted. All worked out perfectly. God bless you for showing patience and compassion.
What a little sweetheart!! ... This is my feel-good story of the year!!
Thank you for rescuing the pig. Blessings to you for your kindness ❤
There's a BIG misunderstanding within this story; the PIG was not rescued, he fled from a luau, and was re-captured.
Always a back story 😂👍
they prolly hit that sea turtle with their boat on the way back to the luau with said pig
😂
The pig rather be shark food than human food
😂😅
🙏 Aww, mahalo nui loa for rescuing Miracle then releasing her back into her habitat! 🐗 She must have been so stressed and scared.
Thank you, kind and wonderful family!!!!!
That pig had his guardian angel watchin over him. 🙏🏻🙏🏻Broke my heart seeing him struggle in the water like that. I didn't even know pigs knew how to swim/Doggie Paddle 🥰🐖 You can tell that he saw the land in the distance & was tryin to swim to it but current kept pushing him back. Id really like to know hiw he did end up in the water in the 1st place??? 🤔
Pigs are great swimmers, but are no match for a tide that is going out. She was lucky on a lot of levels. No sharks. She was spotted in a literal ocean of distractions. The people who saw her were kind and empathy, truly decent human beings.
MAHALO!!! You are angels!!! That baby got so lucky to have you! How did that sweet pig get so far out to sea?!🐖🏝Miracle, you are beautiful ~~❤❤❤💯
Good people. God bless you for taking the time to save that poor baby😍🫧🐷
Bless them all!
Mahalo for a lovely rescue!🌺🌈🕊
here in Asia... wild pig or boar... they swim Island to Island to migrate. its normal.
Excecly what I was thinking. 😂
Thank you for saving the pig! Very kind people!
It’s actually pretty common occurrence for wild pigs to swim off shore around Cuban waters. Though it’s perhaps anyone’s guess as to how many end up swimming so far away from land that they end up tiring themselves out and eventually drown.
Or become food for sharks.
How it made it that far with becoming tiger shark food is astounding.
He probably got a boat ride out there.
Thank you very much, awesome people! 😇
Such a wonderful family kindness and compassion extraordinaire thank you and bless you all be safe Miracle
God bless that wonderful family and the poor piggy wherever she is now
That's how they migrate from island to island.
I am so thankful they were in the right place at the right time and were able to rescue the piggy. I know that feral pigs can be destructive but I couldn't stand the thought of it drowning, either.
On a side note, I know we aren't supposed to covet, but I am majorly coveting that ladies hair. It is so gorgeous! I want curls like that!
I thought it looked like pubic hair.
I can't imagine how exhausted she was.
How nice of you guys what a blessing
Hawaii people have the biggest hearts❤❤
Thank you!!
Valuable lesson you taught your children as well thank you
Thank you for rescuing this little piggy.❤️
Awesome story!! Thankyou for rescuing her!
Pigs are actually pretty good swimmers by nature for fairly short distances. This little guy might have been swept out with a tide while foraging on one of the islands.
Same happens to deer here on Maui. They will swim in the ocean
Here in the PNW, mainland Washington, San Juan Islands and north up the coast. Deer commonly swim between islands.
Axis deer live near the ocean?
@@Happycamper808 They can travel for miles. It's not about living, it's about migrating
@@MW-on1ft Finally somebody who understands it.
Thank you for being amazing people!
It's stories like these that just makes everything so much better - the family were in the right place at the right time with the right attitude - amazing 🌹
It's good to know good hearted people are still out there. You didn't know if the pig would attack or bite and you still to the risk. God bless.
Thank you God Bless
It looks fine in the beginning swimming along then after being dragged Along by the boat it's barely moving
Thanks for doing that. I've seen these at night in the woods. They're at home there.
They're all over the Hawaiian islands.
You can see in the vid that they were not 2 miles from the closest shore. That one shot looked like maybe a few hundred yards.
Mahalo to the family for giving nature a helping hand. We must always help Nature whenever 🙂 there's the opportunity :)
Wonderful people and amazing story.
Thanks for saving our friend, we were all so worried about him. Love forever, Miss Piggy, Piglet, Porky Pig and the rest of the drove.
Good and kind people!
Thank you for saving that poor pig! ❤🙏
It escaped from a luau. They just brought it back to be eaten.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this story.!!!!
You guys are so kind.
Awesome thanks for helping that babe good job
Word has it that the Mellor family had a hell of a luau after the rescue. 😮👌
Animals recused at sea know they are safe when onboard. Penguins and seals jump on boat’s swim platform when it’s chased. 4legged ones need to be caught to be helped.
❤😂🎉
Kindness is rare...🇿🇦🩷🐖
There is a special place in heaven, for those who take care of gods helpless creatures❤️
Awesome!!!
That’s a wild boar! You can tell by the elongated snout. But a domestic pig’s snout will grow if let out into the wild and they will also grow tusks. It’s very interesting.
Really!
I didn't know that!
Wow!
Thank you...makes me so happy to be a part of Kailua!
God bless good people doing good things and that sweet little piggy too.
Thank you for rescue and not doing the easy thing and turn away.
Gotta imagine there was a shark nearby thinking... "nah, this is a trap"
I was thinking that sharks don't get pork too often so this was a major lost opportunity. But as you said, "WTF? No way someone tossed this pork dinner in the water for me to get without dire consequences!"
The pig under the blanket is too cute 😚
Lol
That is a wild boar. Glad you let him go back home. Thank you.
his home isn't hawai'i lol, it's invasive. it's home is back in the states.
@@user-sk9wb8zn7lhawaii is part of the states 😂🤡
@@0-2-1 did you know that they call mainland "the states" especially over here in hawai'i. Ignorant bxstxrd lol
@@0-2-1 lmk what else you gotta say babygirl
@@0-2-1 also the pig is from the mainland. You can't read or use context clues. Go back to elememtary old lady.
Thank you for saving the pig!!!
Thank u family
Thank u jesus
God Bless! That poor pig must of been so scared, how tf did it even get out there?
I'm now fully invested in this pigs life story!
So sweet! 💗
That didn't look like 2 miles but glad you helped the ol girl
Maybe the pig felt like a nut after taking a bag of almond joy 😂
Thank you to rescued pige!.
Poor little one!
Awesome❤️
Pigs are just as intelligent as dogs . Terrible how cruely they are treated in food factories . Intelligent animals with emotions
Most people are either too stupid to know, or too heartless to care. That's why pigs
(and dogs) are better than most people.
❤ 🐷 ❤️🥰🎉
What a sweet story
Good on you guys ❤
They released it to become feral?
That's nuts!
Agreed.
Good they picked it out of the ocean but they should have called animal control right away and had them meet them at the launch.
It's a wild boar. Invasive species in Hawaii...
Exactly
Pigs are excellent swimmers that can swim across rivers and streams in search of food, habitat, or safety. Although some myths persist that pigs can't swim, they are actually quite good at it! Pigs are natural swimmers by birth, much like dogs and other animals can swim naturally if thrown into the water.
They swim far better than dogs too.. The pig likely saw them as predators and played dead.
It was probably trying to escape from getting turned into bacon. 😅
God bless you humans.
Thank God y’all pulled her in because I don’t think that little pig was gonna last much longer she collapsed in exhaustion. Hopefully it’ll go into the woods stay in the woods and live a good life the little pig and Lucky wasn’t eaten by a shark.
It's pretty normal for a pig to swim to get to another part of the island.
Ya I'm pretty sure they didn't "save" anything. Chances are they were freaking it out and unnecessarily tiring the pig making it evade them when it was on its way to land already
@@austinhoner5389 Yeah most likely not even the deer from Lana'i swim.
Yeah, that's why pigs are always seen swimming around the islands! Lolol 🙄
Good people. Had probably been swimming for days. Miracle indeed.
No, probably got caught in the tide as it was going out, or in a rip current. She was exhausted, but it's very unlikely she would not have survived days of swimming in the Pacific.
So the son was just dragging the pig in the water??
These are called sea pigs they used to be quite common in the ocean
God Bless !!❤❤
Thank god for you and your wonderful family ❣️
Poor baby was exhausted
Pretty common actually.
🐷🐖🐽♥Miracle the Pig so cute! 🐷🐖🐽♥
Great job ! Now when is the Luau ?
Relax folks. Boars are very capable swimmers and have been known to swim 6-7 miles at a time. This hog was not about to drown
What an awesome catch! Tastier than any of the local fish.
Beauriful!
Good people.😍👍
Same thing happens to people here in Lahaina.
I learned a long time ago is that pigs do this more often than you think specially in hawaii.. they swim from island to island to find new sources of food.. it would be terrible if they brought it back to the island it just swam from..
Its not just a pig, its a wild boar. You are lucky you got all your fingers.
Way cool 😎..
God bless all of you 🙏..
Stay safe and be kind to all
Joe Dirt west rim Arizona😊.
