I hope you two have noticed the updates in Gampbel Pavilion! Great new score boards and I believe I saw seats instead of the old benches in the upper part of the stadium. The cheap seats!!! And, the next time you go to a UCONN game IF they are selling their famous ice cream - made at UCONN - please try it. There are only 3 places in CT where ice cream and made at sold near the farm where it is produced.
With the addition of those three recruits, the question that needs to be answered is who is going to be that quality point guard that Geno’s offense always relies heavily on in order to maintain that high level of success we are used to seeing.

She needs to demonstrate that she can control the game, be the leader, get the offense to work. She needs to be after Paige and Chen leave a Bria Hartley, a Renee Montgomery, a Jen Rizzoti in order for the Huskies to succeed at the highest level.

The December stretch of 4 ranked teams in 5 games will likely come down to if Fudd is back in good form by then. Currently, their are 2 dependable and trustworthy options offensively...Paige and Sarah. Everyone else seem to fade in and out, I don't have confidence in Brady and Shade ha shown a tendency last year to fade almost completely out of games against top level opponents. Unfortunately, this year has a feeling like the last few, hoping to have everyone healthy come march. This is a completely different team with Fudd playing at her potential and if Griffin can come back and play at the level she was at pre injury, Aubrey was playing the best she had played at UConn. She was also doing it consistently, something she hadn't done in previous years, it would come and go.
Also, as a FYI...UConn has an ongoing series the Standard that can be watched on their UA-cam channel or on UConn Plus, going thru the eras of Geno/Chris and building the program. They are about 10 to 15 minute episodes. There is also a 4 part series being broadcast on SNY that started this week after the FDU game
Yep I totally feel her. It happened last season too. The ceremony for the 20- and 10-year anniversaries was too overwhelming for the young Huskies to perform in front of the UConn legends against one of their rivalries, Notre Dame. They obviously felt shitty about themselves after the loss, especially Paige. I felt bad for all of them. Geno should have created more plays for Aaliyah who delivered her phenomenal performance throughout the game. And then she didn't touch the ball in the fourth quarter after helping push her team to get close. She deserved many flowers for that. Fairleigh Dickinson was at least better than another ranked team for breaking an all-time NCAA career coaching wins record event. Glad Geno learned his lesson.

With NIL not applying to international players I only expect their number to increase significantly. The use of the transfer portal by international players decreases compared to US players. I would like to see a stat on this point. Please note that the issue of NIL and if it applies to international players is being currently fought in the courts. So what I said could change.
Next year's class. It really depends on how much you trust the coaches. I think this is one of the weakest recruiting classes at UConn in a long time. Multiple players that said UConn was their dream school chose to go elsewhere. (Somfai and Davidson.) Somfai was our top target this cycle. And she chose Stanford. Gandy is a project like a Piath Gabriel. But she has size and has improved. Quinonez. Will she come? She has not officially signed her letter of intent as far as I know. Also, I just prefer to recruit domestic players. I think they have a higher ceiling. Would have definitely preferred Davidson here. A player I know will be a star in college basketball. Fisher. She is good. Underrated by the rating services. She is a good addition. A typical UConn type of player.
UConn is likely going to have more than 1 spot for 2025, so even if they can get Makeer, they will have spots to potentially get people from the portal. They are going to likely lose Fudd, she's not expected to use her red shirt injury year. All the early mock draft have her as 1st round pick, in the top 8. She finished her degree last year and is actually a grad student this year. Ducharme might leave too, she's still questionable to play this year or ever. Caroline will be done with her degree. Not really any point to stay in college another year.
i think ducharme is here to finish out her degree. UConn owes that to her, And I am glad she will be able to graduate. Their is almost no chance she is on the roster next year. Fudd, Ducharme, Griffin, Chen, Bueckers out. Gandy, Fisher, and maybe Quinonez in. That leaves us with 3 open roster spots. So, we could look for help in the portal.

I know it’s early but Ole Miss only lost to USC by two points. That will be a test assuming this game comes to fruition.
UConn isn’t in the same league as Notre Dame or UCLA at this point of the season. Things may change by March. You heard it here first.
Notre dame just lost two games back to back and one being to an unranked team. Notre dame and Ucla aren’t in our league!
