I'm always glad to get a new update from "Listen Up". Great info! Phil & Ry thanks for reading my comment. That was a pleasant surprise and the kind of thing that doesn't happen very often. You 2 guys are keeping the UCONN enthusiasm on a high level. Thank you!
In recent years, we have really used first night as a tool to close on recruits. We missed on Roberson but landed strong last year. Ziebell was at first night the year before. I think we will use first night again this year. Who will be there? My guess is Fisher, Gandy, Somfai, and Jazzy. Prawl would be an interesting one too since she is teammates with Somfai and Fisher. Maybe we want it to be geared towards an IMG academy visit.
We should be cautious while diving into the subject of 'height'. Geno prefers 'Bigs' who can run a quick transition offense. In my opinion, it is one of the big reasons Amari DeBerry never really got a foothold at UConn. She was traditional; tall and methodical. Aaliyah Edwards was not the tallest, but she could move across the hardwood like a wraith about to steal your soul. Whomever comes to UConn, they better be ready to push the envelope for 40 minutes. That is certain. Peace!
Jazzy is my top choice for 2025. She is a transformative player and would be the perfect star to lead us into the post Paige Bueckers era. I like Makeer also. She is Canadian. I want UConn to keep the Canadian pipeline healthy. And I think Makeer would be a solid addition. She is a shot maker. That’s what she really brings on the court.
There is no UCONN pipeline from Canada. We only got Edwards because of Kia Nurse. If we had a true pipeline...we would of signed Toby Fournier & Laeticia Amihere. As for Jazzy...have you given up on KK already ?
@@arthur-ri4zo Fournier chose Duke for education. That’s going to happen sometimes. Honestly, and maybe she liked Lawson. I will admit that we should be doing better in Canada though. (We even played in Toronto last year.) We should have pursued Syla Swords. Fournier was a disappointing miss. Prawl, Makeer, and another Swords are all talented; there is no reason we shouldn’t give them a look.
when was the las title it's been so long I forgot? Undefeated season... let me return to reality now, if they make it through the season without 2 season ending injuries it will be a Big win.
It's going to be a fascinating season and I can't wait. Lots of new things going on with people like Aubrey coming back, etc. I hope this is a big year for Paige. No one epitomizes UCONN basketball more than Paige. It's all about TEAM. Sometimes she shares too much, but we're so lucky to have her! Unfortunately, tickets will probably be almost impossible to get OR they will be way too expensive. I think Connecticut residents should get in for $50 each because UCONN is a CT State university and we tax payers support it. Yes, you can thank us Ryan and Phil!
U Conn's women's basketball days are dwindling. Playing in a conference that gets minor TV coverage nationally. The SEC and Big Ten offer more TV exposure and NIL opportunities. Your playing for a coach nearing the end of his career and playing an unexciting style of play.
I'm looking forward to 2026. Want to ride the Metro-North Vukosa train from NYC to Storrs. As for Edwards, I give her little credit. Any player can plant themselves in the paint waiting to be fed the ball. The biggest game of the year in both 2023 & 2024 Edwards CHOKED. In 2023 Edwards acted like a bull in a China shop against "The Ohio State". Playing 18 minutes due to foul trouble the entire game and only scoring 4 points. In 2024 Edwards was AWOL against UCLA and a costly offensive foul with 3 seconds left to play giving Iowa & Clark the win. But personally I feel it was a terrible call only to allow Clarke to face up against SC in the finals.

Here’s Somfai in the middle, but is anyone recruiting the 17 yr. old, 7’4” girl on the right ?

Who replaced Tara at Stanford for Coach?
Their assistant head coach that’s been with tara for that last couple years.

Somfai ranked #2 by ASGR
