Mushu is doing great ❤ thank you Dr. Doug! She still loses her balance daily but has greatly improved from falling over and needing her wheelchair- she even walked up hill today without falling once ❤❤❤swimming is always the best therapy for water fowl and thats her time to always shine 💫💫💫💫
Have you had her checked for an inner ear problem(infection or water in the inner ear)? Sometimes that can lead to balance issues. Also, Idiopathic Vestibular Disease: which can signal an immune disease andaffecting the unique antigens presented by the vestibular nerve. Vets often use diphenhydramine . Diphenhydramine is a centrally active anticholinergic, antihistamine which helps reduce vertigo and nausea. For inner ear disease, the clinical signs caused by these diseases are similar, indicating the location of the disease rather than the specific cause. These signs are those of peripheral vestibular dysfunction, including head tilt, nystagmus, circling and imbalance. On the other hand, since the diseases which cause inner ear disease are usually slower in evolution, these signs are generally less severe than with idiopathic vestibular disease. The most common cause of inner ear disease in all species is secondary in inner ear infection.
Looks like she have vertigo, that is inner ear balance organ malfunction, for humans its easily to "fix", just need to do some "rolls" ;) Wonder if those works for ducks too. I have huge vertigo problems sometimes, so I kinda know how she feels. Hope she is doing better now.

My best boy Chewie needs someone like you!!! He is the sweet and dopey Bull Mastiff that hangs his front left leg after playing and after waking up from his naps. He will spring around the yard playing just fine but when he’s done, he goes back to hopping.
