Great job guys! ♥️ My dad was from Shamokin. He used to walk around the house singing made up songs and we’d roll our eyes. He would have loved this song 😂
I don't live there but I pass through a lot and there's some of the most fun atv trails I've ever ridden there. This woman's voice is incredible and the lyrics ain't half bad. Good Job!
If you are from the coal region....Ya gotta love this ! Thank you Chad for this one of a kind tribute ( i think it's a tribute) ....also....Nice job Erica.... You would have Alicia's approval !
Love you guys...just saw this...lived on rock st, went to st Ed's. Funny how I moved to philly at 12....ended up getting basketball recognition in philly while the guys I owned won a state title....ling live Longy, Reiprish, Rosini, Johnny Luzicki...who I had a great relationship with in Elysburg....and never forget Bendas Incorporated and Knopka on the bench. Video made me smile big time. I'm up there twice a year .....love to buy you both a drink.
Excellent !!!!! We are what we are but we are REAL. If you don't like it, as with our coal you can lump it. However you will miss the HO BUT ( not BUD) Contest but that's your loss. Loved the song, loved the singers, loved the scenery.:o)
You two are awesome! My Dad was born on vine st. got a niece living in shamokin. Showed my 78 yr old dad and 76 yr. old mom (born and raised in Mt. Carmel). They loved it dude!!!!! So do i and im 52. Posted it on facebook for all my friends in Colorado. Hope you guys make it big i suspect you will!! much due respect! denise
We live in Colorado too, Fountain. So weird that our parents might have known each other. 😁 We love to eat at Mika’s in Colorado Springs, the kids and I will sing this song on the way home as we’re chowing on pierogis 💞
Iam from there so is my daughter she turned me on to your song before it had video great job hope there's more too come awesome job keep up your dreams
Very well done. And I agree . Love the place . Never lived there , but Dad lived in Mt carmel . I really miss the food. Please do more more of the area. You guys are great!!
Respect from Philadelphia!! Played against the Indians while growing up in Sunbury as a Shikellamy Brave during my JV football days. Shamokin's got some heavy hitters!
Great work on the video!!! I'm from Allentown but I've spent a considerable amount of time in/around your town exploring abandoned coal mines and doing interviews in local taverns with some of the old miners. Always enjoyed my visits there!
Forget Sugarland, Texas and Key Biscayne, Florida, Zurich Switzerland and even Paris France, Shamokin PA is truly the greatest city in the USA and the World. If I win the lottery and choose to live in any city in the world, I'm picking Shamokin
The north of America in general is dying, especially dilapidated coal dependent regions like north east PA. America used us for coal, then when it stopped being viable Shamokin, Mount Carmel and Shenandoah were left to rot. And that’s what they’ve done all that’s left is go-nowhere teens who have no options because there’s no jobs so they go the drug route. I’d know because I graduated a few years ago, I see it everyday.
Great song guys! I left Shamokin in 1953 but miss it! Your lyrics were fine and mentioned just about everything but Teaberry Ice Cream! See ya at the Coney.
Heh, I remember making teaberry ice cream. It was a very easy flavor to make. We had a jug of teaberry extract and put it in ice cream mix. Bitter sweet was the bigger flavor and probably still is big, but I do remember teaberry.
Just watched this for the first time . . . )))))))))))MAKE HER SING MORE!!!(((((((((((( AMAZING VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great song and spot on! Dang!
How I LOVE Shamokin....grew up there.....best people around and the greatest teachers....Miss Pressler, my awesome music teacher....Miss Anderson....drama club....I could go on and on....The Carl Twins ADORE Shamokin.....Coney Island, the Fun Shop......God, I have to go there some time soon.....almost 62 and the fond memories are in the hearts of Donna and Linda Carl! xoxoxoxo
It was Bressler. I had them both and still appreciate them. I remember a skit Miss Bressler put on with two of the girls, Let's take an oldfashioned walk, I'm just bursting with talk.
that's Miss Bressler......the best music teacher there could be ....loved being in the chorus and singing in the halls of high school with Harriet Winnick!
Hot! In Voice! Not easy to do... What happened to Martzes, the Majestic and the Fun Shop.... Ask the gizzer rockers from Shamokin ..... they will remember.......
Awesome song 🤟 . Says it all . Props to the fireman , ty but assist shamokin if need be. Roads paved with black diamonds ! Shamokin had so much money they could of paved independence and the two you stand on in the middle with diamonds,Old timers told me this they where rich and knew that .so yes coal was king
Great video - never heard the song you're parodying, but this is well done. Pride in hometown - a trademark of PA - no matter how much others destroy our towns in cities through labor and environmental arbitrage.
St Ed's school was NOT the first bldg in the world with electric lights; not even close! St Edwards church was the first CHURCH to have electric lighting. Benjamin Franklin never had a workshop in Shamokin either; however, the Edison Illuminating Company of Shamokin did operate out of a site on Independence Street which is now the home of Jones Hardware Company.
Hoe Butt. Dats great jano what I mean der. Some great memories from back in the day. Maybe It'll make a come back some day. Den I'll meet ya at wizez or up da honey fir two or tree. Haint yoe
Too bad there's no mention of St. Ed's school being the first building on the planet with electric lighting, or the fact that Jones's Hardware used to be one of Ben Franklin's workshops. :D
Great job guys! ♥️ My dad was from Shamokin. He used to walk around the house singing made up songs and we’d roll our eyes. He would have loved this song 😂
I think you guys did an awesome job, the words, the rap, the singing, and the camera work was just too good!!! Thanks.

I sure hope Erica and you are still singing. I enjoyed that.
