I was so disappointed cause I love sims but literally they just recycled solar glow times nine and added maybe what, two “new” shades? I was expecting a bright and colorful palette not that! And I actually really liked the solar glow palette even though the pans were so small, in particular the shade metalmauve was one of my favorites because it was a silvery purple that I had never seen before. Just so disappointing from both MAC and the Sims teams
The Sims & Mac have actually collabed already *technically* , they released a patch update a couple months ago where they added a bunch of new makeups to the Sims 4 game with the mac logo on them LOL

you should do a "what I would have done" video series where you take pallets like this that flopped but had so much potential and show us how you would redesign them. Like give alternative color story, shade name, and packaging ideas
I also think it would have made sense if instead of just a james charles mini palette they did maybe two mini palettes, a mini neutrals and mini colors, that way people who are just getting into makeup but love charles could dip their toes into his favorite neutrals, or those who already have neutrals in their collection can supplement with james' favorite colors.
Those Rainforest of the sea palettes 😬😬😬 the color story is full AF and I couldn't pick a damn shade up on a brush if my life depended on it. Gave them to my 11 year old daughter to play with 😅

MAC also doesn't release a lot of stuff. Not here in the UK anyway. Even Christmas stuff is minis of stuff they already have bundled together. Personally I buy from ColourPop but I haven't purchased from MAC for years. Also MAC treats their employees like crap. As a 90s teen though MAC was the place to go for make-up, everyone used the spice lip pencil and their lip glass. As a super pale person it was the only brand that got anywhere near my skin colour. So I guess I'm saying imo ColourPop is better and a lot cheaper.

I actually love the miss piggy face palette... I find the blushes really easy to blend, not too pigmented so it’s easy to apply, and all the colours are really wearable. Also they are cream blushes lmao. Idk people be hating on it but I have almost the whole collection and I really like it 😅
Just by seeing it in the photos that you posted, I thought that the color story was very original, and I have never seen those colors in a face palette before, and as there appears to darker shades, it would appeal to people with a darker skin tone. I do get your point about everything else. You should definitely start a consulting business! Also, I think MAC used to go all in with their collabs, but they haven't done done that in several years.
I think Hannah’s point is that it could have been more creative. Imagine if it were the same colours but the packaging had the face of miss piggy inside with different colours filling different parts of the face. Or even just something stamped onto the pans.
I think the point was the palette had absolutely nothing to do with Miss Piggy. It just had her name and a picture of her and that was it. It was a very lazy and pointless design and marketing idea.

I agree with you on big brands often overlooking fanbases and just throwing together uninspired products. I’m so tired of these boring collabs. A great example of a brand knowing an audience and making a beautiful color story with great packaging is Colourpop’s Sailor Moon collection. The palette is so beautiful and is great for both crazy colourful looks and neutral ones, so much so that I plan to rebuy it.
I think with the Jame Charles palette they could have chosen the “best” “more versatile” shades and do a mini with those shades, it would have been so much better
For real, when I hear a big palette is getting a mini I imagine they're going to pick a couple of shades that make a nice colour story and create a six or nine pan palette. Not that they will literally shrink the existing palette 💀💀

Colourpop, imo, does have very *frequent* launches, but I don't think that they're necessarily *boring* or **lazy**. 🤔

@@everjustcuriousdesigns5190 I think that their palettes that go straight to ulta are pretty lazy, but they do have a lot of collections that they put a lot of effort into making sure the packaging is super beautiful and the colours are pretty wearable and cohesive.

I do love their packaging; as long as they don't rush production so fast that the quality of the products suffers, I'm like, "y'all do you." 😄

I actually love the miss piggy face palette... I find the blushes really easy to blend, not too pigmented so it’s easy to apply, and all the colours are really wearable. Also they are cream blushes lmao. Idk people be hating on it but I have almost the whole collection and I really like it 😅
Just by seeing it in the photos that you posted, I thought that the color story was very original, and I have never seen those colors in a face palette before, and as there appears to darker shades, it would appeal to people with a darker skin tone. I do get your point about everything else. You should definitely start a consulting business! Also, I think MAC used to go all in with their collabs, but they haven't done done that in several years.
I think Hannah’s point is that it could have been more creative. Imagine if it were the same colours but the packaging had the face of miss piggy inside with different colours filling different parts of the face. Or even just something stamped onto the pans.
I think the point was the palette had absolutely nothing to do with Miss Piggy. It just had her name and a picture of her and that was it. It was a very lazy and pointless design and marketing idea.

I agree with you on big brands often overlooking fanbases and just throwing together uninspired products. I’m so tired of these boring collabs.
A great example of a brand knowing an audience and making a beautiful color story with great packaging is Colourpop’s Sailor Moon collection. The palette is so beautiful and is great for both crazy colourful looks and neutral ones, so much so that I plan to rebuy it.
I think with the Jame Charles palette they could have chosen the “best” “more versatile” shades and do a mini with those shades, it would have been so much better
For real, when I hear a big palette is getting a mini I imagine they're going to pick a couple of shades that make a nice colour story and create a six or nine pan palette. Not that they will literally shrink the existing palette 💀💀
