i agree with your sentiment but not the bit about commitments being met. The game is in Alpha. It is unreasonable to expect that them pushing a release candidate to the Alpha's Test Environment is in any way meeting a commitment. When we play in live we are testing because that's what an Alpha is.

Any old star citizen player know that there is no way you will get a solid release no matter how long you wait. So we might as well get it right now. The 4.0 WILL be full of bugs, right now or if you wait a month for it, it will. This is why you see people asking for it right now and not later, because they know that never an update didn't come with its collection of bug and crash, and that waiting longer for it never prevented that.

4.0 has been pretty damn solid over the weekend imo. I played a solid 4 or 5 hours without a single server error or major issue. Server fps was usually between 20 and 30 too with a couple of teleports. Got into a pvp instance with no desync an AI NPC's cutting both of us off. Is it perfect? No of course it's not. I think the most important bit to remember is, if they dont ship it now, they wont work on it *at all* until february - so it virtually does not matter if they push it now or in late january/early february.
For ship PVP rewards feels like ship PVP should be the earning mechanism. FPS for FPS, Mining for mining, etc... Locking the ship parts behind FPS is a bit janky. Fair it's a first iteration of this for them, so all good. They need to put some more thought into this though.
I think that wouldn't work that well, actually. If people do these over and over and get better gear because they completed it early on, it could potentially cause a form of gatekeeping by players that already succeeded compared to players that attempt it later. Granted, it also depends on how the progress to get a reward is handled, if even smaller "wins" cam get you closer to the goal then it's mostly fine, but that doesn't really work well in less arcady PvP experiences and with regards to DoaS.
I've been telling people that 4.0 live will be pretty broken and to not expect anything to be playable i think I'll stay in Stanton just to have lower server issues and grind back up on PvE bounties and whatnot till pyro is more stable. PTU still isnt stable enough and we are to close to the holiday break to try and rush out a patch. The best thing to do at this point is keep working on 4.0 in EPTU and PTU, but leave live running as it is through the holidays. Let the CIG team get some rest and come back fresh and refreshed after the first year and pick back up and tackle 4.0 as a q1 product.

I agree that ordinance should NOT be included in an insurance claim. Even the ordinance you didn't fire. If the ship is lost, then insurance should cover ONLY the chassis, the bare ship itself UNLESS you pay ADDITIONAL insurance to cover those items. HOWEVER! That shouldn't happen NOW. That's a 1.0 thing, AFTER the game has come out of alpha state. Ship losses are FAR too common right now for stupid things that, frankly, just shouldn't ever happen. So, while I do agree with the change in the long run, I can't agree with that change RIGHT NOW. It's the wrong time. And? If ordinance isn't included in insurance, then people will mostly just stop rearming with it and just go with their guns. That would be disastrous for testing purposes. They NEED to be testing everything. Including ordinance. ESPECIALLY ordinance. Now, if the prices to rearm that ordinance were negligible, like the price of fuel, then sure, go that way... But to make it not included in insurance AND making it CRAZY expensive to rearm it? Now is not the time for that.
So Yogi can't play his own game now and needs footage from people holding down the fire button. What a clown. Well, we know the doesn't play, or he'd never considered MM. What a shitshow.
CIG is really shooting themselves in the foot with this release. 90% of the pvp'ers are going to quit when they run into a CZ and get desynced by some camping incel. 13 times counted already ive fought players with invincibility..... literally mag dumping an fs-9 into them only to get shot 3 times and die. It's actually deplorably bad.
As far as ship ordinance goes it's Alpha. Things aren't in place for longevity. Th Insurance beyond the chassis doesn't exist and there's no reason to test peoples patience over a half baked time/money sink. There's plenty of bugs and instability issues that cause ridiculous ways to lose the ships currently that are usually addressed during an alpha and beta. It'll be the game we want when the systems are all in place for it to be. Completely agree with you and Berks that 4.0 being the last big release before 1.0 needs to be a staple. A reason for me to tell all the friends from the multiple decades of online gaming that, "Yes, its ready to give a chance." and not have to add "but it's the shitshow you tried before and hated cause of the bugs so wait some more." There's ZERO sense in having a "LIVE" PU server and making it a glorified "We did a thing making it LIVE even though it's the same mess it was in TESTING."
Salty Mike, your logic is kind of dumb in my opinion. You clearly don’t own a ship that is a missile boat, there are times when you can’t dock your Polaris or you try to go and get it and it just stopped working and you can’t get inside of it every time this happened it will cost you thousands of credits with credits being harder to this is just dumb. How do you not see this😊
@saltemike - Why do you and Berks all the sudden think if they work on it for 40 more days its going to be good? Delaying the patch won't make it good. You said 3.18 just got fixed recently - after almost 2 years after release. But 4.0 is going to be fixed if we delay it a couple months? C'mon, man, that is copium talking. 4.0 is going to be busted whether it releases now, in March, or in another year. This whole "you only get one 4.0" thing is ridiculous. They only got one 2.0, and one 3.0, and they will get one... I dunno, if we have a 5.0? 6.0? And then.... 1.0. Games like NMS and CyberPunk released broken - and they had to do the hard work and fix their games. Until then, they got bad press. It's going to be the same for SC and 4.0. Nothing they do in two months is going to make it a good game all the sudden. It will get press as it always had. And, it won't matter. Just like you no longer care what kind of press it got when 3.0 released - even though they only got one chance at 3.0. You guys are making this way more of a thing than you need to. It's still an alpha. It's still SC. It's still going to be janky af. Now. Or in March.
Cp was finishable straight on release. Nms still doesn't work like they promised before release, sure it has more stuff now and has more stuff to play but fundamentally they actually promised basically star citizen with galactic factions on larger scale in shared universes before release.

Thank you so much for this update !! Installing Elite Odyssey and give it another try... X4 is also great atm and will get a new flight model next year from... well... We know him.
Release it to Live already, much better than 3.24! Stop thinking it’s going to be perfect.
I was playing EPTU last night and was getting 30 server FPS reliably when not quantum jumping. In quantum it was more like 15. IDK if I was just lucky but I had this experience is two different playing times
Well, you can't choose to only re-arm your guns instead of missiles and torpedoes. If they can split what is re-armed, then they can change missiles not coming with ships.
If they don't you might just as well spam the missiles as the first things since you'll lose them anyway if you blow up
I love the lawless Pyro
If you could re-arm countermeasures and ballistic ship weapons without missiles. Then they could have missiles not come back when being claimed.
I would like a tarkov style inventory/backpack system. It’s tactile. It makes sense. And you get that semi-realism situation that would work well in SC
Same, they were going this direction then shifted for some reason
So they are removing a bunch of components from the shops in 4.0? Where the hell are we supposed to get those items then?
You have to PVP in Pyro to get them.
We had sunday patch, and oh boy, was so smooth
Wait, seriously? I expected nothing till today. Thursday ran great in and out of Pyro for me on 060, then Friday ran like absolute ass on 110 and 050, so I stopped testing until today because I couldn't get anything done in terms of checking existing bugs.
I don't kow what kind of deal they have with Amazon, but if they're using regular AWS pricing, they should really rethink that.
i dont play nearly as much as you do, but i did this week fopr a couple hours and 4.0 is ready for live. i dont know why you are so negative about it. not like SC was ever ready for a patch anyways.
feeling like engineering release will see a 'T0' implementation and not get updated for a few years
The insurances and claiming should be more hard to do/claim for the player ONCE the game is much more stable. Not bug free, but breaking bug free.
That is one sad bed.
I soon give up on Star Citizen, its not fun anymore when its geting worse for every updste. The game is broken beyond repair sadley 😢
Thanks Mike!
Murie sale is why the patch will drop no matter what and why the Aries got nerfed again.
hmmm, going to play it after two years of not being able to download the game, yeah that was a thing! As it has downloaded, Wooo!, Will drop what I think here.
Maybe get rid of hospital gowns.. when I got to the hospital and have to wear a gown i usually out of the gown and in my clothes before I get discharged
Honestly I hope they just wait until it's in a more playable state
Unfortunately marketing runs the game and they demand to sell the Guardian before the end of the year because sales are behind.
❤❤❤
Nooooo no more tarkov like backpack stacking😢. /s
So broken is not fun at all lol
Salty Mike, your logic is kind of dumb in my opinion. You clearly don’t own a ship that is a missile boat, there are times when you can’t dock your Polaris or you try to go and get it and it just stopped working and you can’t get inside of it every time this happened it will cost you thousands of credits with credits being harder to this is just dumb. How do you not see this😊
Meaningless but you sure can't stop talking about it.
Mantasleep.. what a scam
I’m essentially talking about completing the mission and transit refactors
@@SaltEMike really hope the transit re factor comes soon. But not sure it would even be on the cards for 4.0 if they delay it. I mean, mission refactor is in now and it’s going to be scuffed. It’s just how it always is. I appreciate ya - but I just don’t think delaying a broken game when it’s still going to be broken is worthwhile. Either way, appreciate the content and hope you have a good holiday season and get a break maybe! Thanks for the reply.
Unplayable.

And oh yea! FIIIIIRSTTT!
It's a broken pile of shite and people need to stop playing this title until it functions as a game...content creators like this should be ashamed of the tripe that comes out of their gobs.
