Hey Jasmine! Great video! 👍🏾 I just did a video about Accounts Receivable on my channel, but I really enjoyed your Tips 2 and 5. Choosing the right report is so important, and sometimes I think we get caught up in "This is the report or criteria we always used," so even if it doesn't make sense, we use it anyway. Also, the last tip of writing things off was a great one. Even though we know we can or should do that, I think we don't want to because we feel like we did something wrong or we can't do our job right. Some of that may be true....lol But in the long run we can learn from it. Also, I think a biller should make time in their day to answer patient's questions. Being on both sides I don't like when it takes a providers office forever to call me back or answer my questions.

But yes, we should aim to pick the right report over the "usual" report every time. And any experience can be a learning experience if we are willing to take a critical look and be open to working on improvement. What recommendations do you have to find out insurance timelines for a bunch of new insurances that where just assigned to you? I am new to this type of practice .
Congrats on the new practice! Aside from the timeline issue, I hope it's going well so far. Some of the best ways to learn these timely filing guidelines are to check the website or call the insurance. I recommend when verifying them to make a spreadsheet or list to store them in, to help keep track of everything. Best of luck!
Do you work with a practice management system? You probably wouldn't have to create it from scratch. If you're looking for a more customized one that your system doesn't have or you just want to create from scratch I'd say to brainstorm a list of info that you'd like on the report such as maybe DOS, Patient Name, Insurance etc..I use Lytec Practice Management and it allows me to create custom reports.

My provider works with therapy notes and availty, she sees approximately 10 clinical a week how can I create a billing workflow for her practice? I would need to collect payments, file claims, follow up and post payments. She is my very first client and I trying to create a seamless payment process for her practice
