Thanks for the tutorial (screencast)... I discovered, in reference to the text and scrolling, if you use a filter to hide the right-side scrolling in behind the bottom layer, the text will be cut off and that's where the loop will begin. Even in your example, it happened but I don't think you caught it because it looked good regardless. However, rather than 'CROP' if you click on LIMIT WIDTH in the 'Scroll' filter, it will do the trick. I really did learn so much on your channel, and that's a major reason for my subscribing. Thanks again!
Whoa Joe - that is just gorgeous - I"m generally afraid of going down the rabbit hole using a graphics program but you demo's that really well. Thanks!

fabulous! really helped. i was very nearly there, just didn't know how to solve the overflow issue. your solution is great, but what if you want to change the text, or grab the text from a file? well, overflow issues have an easy fix: add your crop filter then uncheck "relative", and adjust the x, y, width and height to fit your graphic.
With the scroll, is there a way to deal with how many characters show when it wraps? I noticed you space, and hyphen at the end didn't show on the ticker.
I'm trying to create a sort of news ticker with too long text scrolling within bounds of a text source with defined constant width and height and no wrapping. However, the scroll doesn't achieve anything - it just scrolls the part of text that managed to fit and the rest is cut off. Is this intended? Is there any way around it?
Hey joe I’m using OBS On macbook pro 2020 and my iPhone video perfectly working But there is nit any audio already buy some audio things Please help me with that Thanks 🙄
Is there any way to do a longer amount of text? I'm wanting to do a horizontal ticker for the NFL Draft this Thursday. I've noticed that after a certain amount of text, it will no longer display with the horizontal scroll filter. Is there anyway to work around this?
This is awesome! So simple that even I could figure it out! Here I was thinking I was going to have to buy some expensive overlay to get this effect! Thank you!

How did you get your icons to be transparent like that? Anytime I tried doing it I got a white background with the pic and I don't want that. Maybe make a separate video for that?
@@JoeJacksonJr ok thank you for that input but now my next question is how come not all of your text was showing when it was scrolling? Is there a fix for that?
This was very helpful! Thank you! Do you know a workaround on the text limit? It cuts off any text past a certain amount. Seems to also be related to text size. My quick fix was to make an image file of the text, and scroll the image. Although the file was an odd 90 px high x 16000 px long. That allowed more text, but was also limited. It couldn't display the image somewhere between 16000 & 17000 px length. I haven't had a chance yet to log the character count in either instance.
Hey Joe, great tutorial! I have a question, how do you create a kind of fly/fade in - fly/fade out animated text to appear and then disappear using OBS. Kind of like in the news channel when the anchor's name pops in and then goes out in a few seconds. Thanks!
I had to go through many videos to find this one that had exactly what i was looking for.
Fantastic, well explained, easy to understand, perfect visual assistance, THANK YOU!!
Just rewatched to make my own and this was such a fantastic video, thanks again!!

I ran through this and found this out the hard way. Your comment actually helped me out. Thank you.
شكرا لك Joe’s Cave شرح واضح ومختصر 🌹
I love your style Joe. It's real chill and your graphics are awesome! What mic are you using?
Thanks, Joe! I didn't know that OBS had a scroll effect. I was looking for it for an upcoming stream. Much appreciated!
Great voice and mic Joe. A friendly laid back tone. Comforting to listen to.
Thank you kindly!

Hey Joe, do you have a tutorial for how you create the top left graphics that peak in and go back out?

Awesome tutorial! Is it possible to scroll a song's lyrics in their entirety?
Very good Joe. Whilst I'm more Photoshop centric I do use Affinity occasionally too, great piece of software 😉
Thank you Dunny.
I'm going to try this! Thank youuuuuu! New sub here 👍🏼👍🏼

I want to ask the same question too? Seems like there is a character limit or not? What are we doing wrong?
THANK YOU

Using PNG files not Jpegs

Did you ever get an answer to this, or work out how to do it?
@@geedub88 Yes, I was actually referring to lower thirds, and I then learned that it was done with Adobe After Effects. Thanks for checking in!
Super thanks 💖
Thanks so much!
thank you soo much
it's cosmetics... A way more interesting case would be some mix of colored characters within the ticker, maybe by using some javascript whatsoever.
Hey Joe, good tutorial, however, cropping the ticker actually cuts off your text!
Thank you Foysal, yes cropping will cut off the text if its very long. But that's why the scrolling is used. :-)
Thank you :)
Text ticker starts @ 13:50
