Hiya just came accross this video and thnx for advice,we are having allergy issues with out 8 month old frenchie...we used to feed her james wellbeloved grain free turkey food and just switched to royal canin french bulldog puppy food but now 2nd guessing if thats the wrong choice, she is constantly licking her front paws...also tried her on taste of the wild fish flavour that was no good for her,btw im in the uk
@DJMDK1981 tha ks for getting in touch,we have now switched foods again now and we feed mabel wainwright's sensitive super foods white fish kibble...mabel loves it and yes she still licks her paws on and off but she loves the food, our vets put her on some steroid tablets to help with the paw licking and it did help BUT they did have so many side effects and long term would not be good for her so we stopped
Not just for Frenchies for any dog! If you care about your dog you will put them on a raw diet or cook for them. I would never give my dogs commercial dog food ever again. Every single dry kibble means it goes through a process and it takes the nutrients out just as a microwave does. I told my veterinarian the other day after Losing my third to cancer that it’s either the food, the vaccines, the environment or all three. She agreed. Get a titer run on your dog ! Much of the time they are over vaccinated there’s no need for all of this so fast just like with the infants. You have to do your own work these days if you care about your family if you care about your dog you have to research
I would say that your opinion is really helpful, but pedigree I agree completely with you royal caninn is also true, but I use Purina Frisies, together with normal fresh chicken beef and loads of other fresh foods. I got a 9 year old English Greyhound that is still strong and healthy
Personal opinions are dangerous. After doing more education and research on Royal Canin I understand their diets better now. There aim is digestibility and nutrition. Dig a bit deeper into what you would call a filler? Corn milled down to power has really good benefits for energy, vitamin and nutrients. Dive a little deeper in your understanding
This is based on pseudoscience. Stick to a food meeting WSAVA guidelines. These guidelines ensure the food is formulated by a board certified veterinary nutritionist, proper quality control (recalls are NOT BAD! they mean the company cares enough to check the food), published peer reviewed research, and feeding trials, These brands include Purina, Hills, Royal Canin, Iams, and Eukanuba. Iams and Eukanuba aren’t included if you’re in the UK/EU. ingredients are one of the worst ways to review dog food and you can’t review it unless you’re a board certified veterinary nutritionist. For instance, foods with chicken as the first ingredient have less protein from chicken than foods with chicken meal as the first ingredient.
I used to do raw. But there is absolutely zero scientific backed sources stating any benefits, just risks. The CDC, FDA, AVMA, etc all say not to feed it
Thank you for being so helpful and an angel for our angels

Anyone know if I can feed my dog cooked food like lean ground beef vegetables and a little bit carbohydrates or is that bad for a French bulldog
That’s perfectly fine, most of us frenchie owners feed them that👍🏽 just drain the meat juice before adding other stuff

Is taste of the wild good for frenchies?
My almost 1.5 year Frenchie is suddenly starting to reject the adult Royal canin French bulldog food
Do you have anything with numbers, like ppm? Or per kg or lb of weight? Or what working dogs may consume?
Wow I used to do royal canine frenchie food. Glad i changed.

@@TheFrenchBullvlog I just started feeding her Blue Wilderness. I may just go to Raw food with her soon. What you think?
It’s actually one of the best brands out there. Sad.
I use Dr. HARVEY'S, ANSWERS, PRIMAL, steves real food, honest kitchen broths and mercola supplements if needed (mushrooms, prebiotic, etc
Good stuff! It makes a huge difference in their health, well-being and lifespan!
