i miss snow so much when I was a kid my mom and I moved to Chicago and then moved back to texas. I absolutely adored the snow when I lived there, I have fond memories of getting all bundled up to go outside for recess and having so much fun playing in the snow

Lol we lose power a lot in my area. In winter I have a fireplace so heat isn't a worry but we clean out the 2 drawers in the fridge and pack them with snow to keep the fridge cold. Frozen foods are okay for at least 24 hours in fridge freezer and 4 days in the big chest freezers if we cover with blankets and don't open. But usually we just run a generator for the fridge and freezers a few hours a day to recharge them.
The idea is just to keep something cold inside your fridge because it’s already designed to maintain its temperature. Before the invention of refrigerant refrigerators were just simple boxes with ice cubes at the top that would drain the cold air to the bottom.
