as someone that built one with ZERO experience in model cars, this thing looked awesome for someone like me putting it together

This looks amazing! I really hope that Tamiya is able to also release the T.50S and maybe even the T.33 in the future.

My front end did the same thing. I've looked everything over. Everything is seated correctly, the glass is in the right place, the gloss black glass over is seated all the way in, the body panels are completely seated flush against the chassis. I have a noticeable gap on both side panel lines and the panel on the the same side, the right side of the car (in your left hand if the car is pointed at you) is a little larger and the door panel sets out like a half a millimeter proud of the front clip.
As for the engine bay covers. I took my glass back out and filed down the inside of the tab that slots into the chassis. I took maybe a half mm off the underside of that tab and it allows the body panel to sit perfectly on the car. I thought about heat and bending it but heat runs the risk of warping the whole part.
A carbon set would be nice, I painted my carbon as forged carbon. I agree I don't think a photo etch set is really necessary, nor do I think it would really add much of value to the kit.
    Nice work Paul.

Absolutely fabulous finished product Paul. I have the kit in my stash and I think after seeing your step by step build I'm ready to give it a crack. Regarding the Tamiya craft glue, I've been using it for a while now and it's great for test fitting a complete car as all the pieces are easily removed with no residue left, and also very good for attaching glass with no issues.
I hope Tamiya releases a more extensive model car range this year than last, and especially with the high level engineering they have with releases like the GMA T50 Cheers form Oz Allan

Result looks great, especially as this kit looks terrifying. If you do build it again it would be good to paint the edges of the clear parts to block the internal refraction of light at the edges.

Nice build. Skill level too high for me. Why did you stop using UV glue?
