Get a kick out struggles to see coin dates; I can relate. That annual squirrel hunting joke cracked me up! Keep having fun; you guys are finding some great hunting sites!
My lungs are rattling, on 3 different medicines, and non stop coughing, but you guys are forcing me to go out and find something today. Total inspiration.
The wife shut that down. Apparently too sick for work also means too sick for metal detecting. She also made it abundantly clear that there wasn't going to be any miracle recovery once the school bus went by.
That was a great hunt. I like all the silvers but the Skeleton Key is awesome, would like to find one of those myself one day. Yes the 50 caliber squirrel hunting joke was hilarious. Thanks for taking us along on your hunt. GL&HH
I have wanted that key for such a long time that I don't even care that it's little!! Hope to find a big one some day, but skeleton key is off the bucket list now!! Jeff
That is a hunt to remember! Looked like you guys had a blast which is what counts the most. I think that 1901 Hong Kong silver was my favorite...not something most guys will ever dig. Enjoyed watching as always!
Great video with lots of interesting finds. Ground up here in Michigan just unfroze this past weekend. Found my first silver of 2017 yesterday. Happy digging👊🏻
I got an inexpensive Garrett detector about 8 years ago. It was late December when it got delivered and there was about 3 inches of snow on the ground and the ground was frozen solid. I took it out anyway and the first thing I dug was a 1920 wheat penny. I was hooked. I prowled the back yard with that machine for hours. A penny here, a nickel there, 3 quarters in the same hole. Took it up the road to another property and found a 1897 V nickel. What a fun hobby.
looks like you guys had a blast.....thanks for the token...haven't gotten it yet....you guys find pretty good stuff....keep vids coming.....need to get coil to the soil myself...if rain ever stops
Just ran across your video, liked it and subbed too. I'm a newbie, but I did find a skeleton key like the one you found a month into this hobby. Had a laugh or two watching you guys, keep it up!
Great job Jeff. Y'all have been getting some great permissions. I was laughing when everyone was giving you their coins to see the dates. Awesome video and continued good luck. Mike
Yeah, of all the people to be reading coins, I should be the last...honestly, the screen on my video camera doubles the size for me, so it's pretty easy if there's no glare.
Mayen, keen kutter is a big name. Either you or Mike found one earlier. www.collectorsweekly.com/tools-and-hardware/folding-and-pocket-knives I need to find an antique site for myself. I did some treasure hunting back in the early 70s but got away from it. My wife and I are both retired and have arthritis so we recently bought a cheap detector and pinpointer with the intention of upgrading if all goes well. It looks like you guys are around Springfield. I'm a bit south of St louis.
Great hunt guys. Imagine the odds of finding two 1867 Shields, one with and one without the rays! Awesome. Looking forward to the bracelet return. HH guys.
"The town we're in has an annual squirrel hunting contest so you find these everywhere..uh...these 50 caliber's....". Lol. Your like the Bob Newhart of metal detecting...lmao.
PlugMaster Ford Yeah I guess I am...lol. I remember the 70's Newhart when he was a shrink and I mostly watched the 80's Innkeeper Newhart. Congrats on all those sweet finds.
nice work fellas. silver always makes us smile but the relic's are what we remember. love the key just need to find the lock box it went to! just learned how to use a computer should be able to post the footage from my year in Chile if this troublesome black box will get along with me. if interested in what I found on the other end of the planet check it out. looked like a great day with some great friends. best of luck to you. cheers Nathan
PlugMaster Ford might run into some trouble in Columbia on a road trip lol. I looked into driving my truck home from Chile loved that truck but Columbia is a wild and lawless place not worth the risks so sold my truck and hoped a flight. the first vid is pretty rough but I got better as time went on.
That 7 digit number was probably his US navy service number. He probably wore this as a back up dog tag so he could be identified if his issued ones were damaged beyond recognition.
PlugMaster Ford hahaha still a awesome find. just subscribe today digging the videos. i stream them on the tv for my kidos. thanks for the entertainment.
Glad you enjoy them...I learned early that I had to watch vids before I let the kids watch..that's why I added a Family Friendly logo to my thumbnails...you will never hear foul language or perverted talk here!!

someone may have posted this slready, but I think that piece you found w/ the whistle is the part that held the cord. It must have come loose in the ground. Love it!!
hongkong is part of the democratic part of china as opposed to the communists in bejing. back to metal detecting i have a bounty hunter tracker 4 and yesterday i found a 1905 barber dime in my yard where i know i have detected at least 2 time before. just the luck of the swing a yard is never really hunted out just the easy stuff is gone. right before the barber i got a hot wheels car. i have a bounty hunter land ranger pro coming from walmart on the 8 th of december can't wait to start my permissions again with it.
I agree...there aren't a ton of Mercs or Rosies that are super valuable...you'll see, when I find a seated, I'm a little more careful. Wish I had to be careful more often!!! lol
I like when some of you hit a big silver cache in the ground then you move on and take the same coins and plant them somewhere else it just doesn't happen that all these so called catches are found by one you tuber it's bs
Lmfao as fast as you specimens of Metal detecting prowess are you can remove the dirt off of the coins faster with fifty grit sand paper. Just saying you are killing half of us out there. I get it they are yours. HH
My Lord,.....you guys are killin us! We love some good humor but with some of the things you said in this video, I about spit my coffee everywhere and the wife started choking from laughing so hard. You guys rock! Thanks for the laughs and great video.

Total insanity!! Mike was sick as a dog!!
The wife shut that down. Apparently too sick for work also means too sick for metal detecting. She also made it abundantly clear that there wasn't going to be any miracle recovery once the school bus went by.

They all seem to do that when I wipe them. They're just trying to be cooler than the other coins!! lol
That cap gun is awesome, I dug the exact same one a few weeks ago in one of my videos. Hubley made cap guns from 1909-1970's.
That's cool!! Never thought I'd see a flintlock cap gun!! Keep at it!! Jeff
I got lucky mine was intact minus the wood, I managed to get the hammers and trigger working with WD-40.

A real dry humour you have there..."Squirrel hunting with a 50 caliber bullet.. LOL
Hong Kong is in southern China. It was a British colony until pretty recently
I was was gonna say that lmao
Hong Kong is on mainland China , not Japan...
Yes, that is correct.
More like a $500 dollar 3 legged buffalo
Wasnt a phone number that was more than likely his service number.
The Hong Kong 5 cent is a nice coin, I hope you have checked out the price on line :-)
hongkong is part of the democratic part of china as opposed to the communists in bejing. back to metal detecting i have a bounty hunter tracker 4 and yesterday i found a 1905 barber dime in my yard where i know i have detected at least 2 time before. just the luck of the swing a yard is never really hunted out just the easy stuff is gone. right before the barber i got a hot wheels car. i have a bounty hunter land ranger pro coming from walmart on the 8 th of december can't wait to start my permissions again with it.
Good luck with your new machine!! Slow & Low!!
Jeff
Where's the Bible verse? I missed it!!
rubbing silver coins?
And they're still silver afterwards..go figure!! lol
Your right. Just would hate to see someone mess up a rare coin. Not likely to happen, but possible
I agree...there aren't a ton of Mercs or Rosies that are super valuable...you'll see, when I find a seated, I'm a little more careful. Wish I had to be careful more often!!! lol
Hear that. I was to quick to judge. Like the videos and happy hunting.
