yes this is a lithium cart with the full navitas 600amp 5kw conversion.
The issue that I have with LiPO is that they cannot deliver high amps for more than a few seconds. I have a 72V Bad Boy that pulls over 400A to its two A/C motors for several minutes at a time when climbing steep hills. The 72V Allied deliver 32A for 10 seconds - per battery... In contrast, the lead acids take this for 10+ minutes before I see some exhaustion when climbing a mile steep hill. Even if I would account for the saved weight, I would need at least 8 or more, which does not make it cost effective. Each of the two traction motors deliver 14 kW, I would not go as far as to say continuously, but intermittent in steep terrain that I have were I live. I measure between 100 and 420A draw. At the Allied 88.9V fully charged voltage, that would be 315A, and 466A at their discharge 60V cutoff, which even nine for which I would have space, could not deliver.
The bad boy cart is definitely a interesting design. We just had on come into the shop and will be my first time really getting into one.
