Mediatek has certainly done a great job with the 9400,as it offers great performance when it comes to GPU alongside a competent CPU all while running a little cooler, and since it will be notably cheaper to procure than 8 Elite, hopefully it will find a home in many of the "affordable flagships" coming in next year. All in all,its a very balanced SoC considering performance, features and price. As for Qualcomm's SD 8 Elite, its thermal issues were almost waiting to happen due to the sheer beefiness of all the cores and the fact that mainstream phones like OP 13 and Samsung upcoming S25 series will have relatively less beefy cooling solutions to keep the lid on temps.Having said that, the CPU performance headroom offered by this chip is huge,so more specialized devices like gaming phones with beefier cooling and larger form factor devices like tablets can offer the 8 Elite the opportunity to really stretch it's legs. Finally, while this is all good news for the Android world,I am really worried about Samsung's Exynos & Google's Tensor chips as they still seem content to stick with older approach when it comes to their chip designs.

Efficiency? 9400 uses 19 watts during benchmarks😂 Yes it is efficient during gaming but 8 elite still uses less power than it and performs better -source geekerwan
I would say the average user will find both of these exceptional performers with little to complain about. This test was about extremes, and they show the problem Oryon had in the X Elite; it has higher diminishing returns the greater you push it, and becomes inefficient compared to using less intensive tasks. So for gaming, it will need to be well optimised, either by the OEM or by the user. The player can easily lower the settings to get a more sustainable performance that will easily exceed FPS compared to running at max settings, giving a solid, stable experience. As a non-gamer either of these will be great. For people like me, these chips are overkill for my usage, and that extra power is really to future-proof the device, which is nice to have.
Great vid. I have been watching your vids for awhile. Cool to see all the phones that will not be coming to the states, 😢. I know you can import. But that can be a hit or miss with 4g/5g bands.
Actually insane that a lot of Tech Reviewers couldn't do such a simple [and balanced] comparison. You nailed it, Ash! Videos like this make paying for YT Premium worthwhile lol.
Hey Ash ! May I suggest you also do real world comparison for these SOCs by taking videos and photos while being on cellular data and uploading on social platforms in between, while taking calls on Bluetooth ….and then check the performance and battery life because that’s what most people do.
You keep saying the snapdragon is faster on every test, but you click it before you click the dimensity every single time. It's about 1 second faster. Anyway great video and I've subscribed. I was rooting for the dimensity when I heard it announced then I was swaying to the snapdragon. Now being swayed by the dimensity, however a lot of battery drainage and phone performance is down to how each phone handles heat and how the makers decide to low it down or not. I'd rather have a few seconds slower phone for it running cooler and lasting longer. And quick charge is a must. 1 hour and 40 minutes to charge my galaxy s24 ultra 🙄. Look forward to the next video.
This test convinced me that the 9400 is far better! To be 45% more efficient on back to back benchmark tests says it all. Thank you for this comparison 🙏🏻

Excellent detailed explanation🙌🏾
To get full potential , We must choose Vivo X200 Pro ( not the mini).
How many OS updates does Vivo offer?

If that's true then I am gonna sell my s24 plus

Great video Ash. Keep up the good work. Great choice going with these two phones.
Thank you Ash, great work and greetings from germany
Truly amazing work and deserve every likes.
You just got a new subscriber btw 😊
Thanks for the sub bud, where you from?
Great vid. I have been watching your vids for awhile. Cool to see all the phones that will not be coming to the states, 😢. I know you can import. But that can be a hit or miss with 4g/5g bands.
Highly appreciate making this video, noice🔥
Thanks man. I always get the video from you better than any other tech reviewer.
Actually insane that a lot of Tech Reviewers couldn't do such a simple [and balanced] comparison.
You nailed it, Ash!
Videos like this make paying for YT Premium worthwhile lol.
Really liked your video the way you have compared, so i liked and subscribed too.
Great video
I wanna see that power consumption comparison when running some games and running social media apps
very comprehensive test bro, subbed👍
great video mate, keep up the good work. You are one of the few Indian tech tubers I am subscribed to.
loved the way you explain everything rather then wasting too much time like other tech-tubers, keep it up bro, loved your video (Y)
By far your best video yet Ash, really well done. Great comparison
Appreciate the video 🙂👍🏻
Ash what a great video ! Thanks for presenting us the data which such level of details and taking care if the thermals
Hey Ash ! May I suggest you also do real world comparison for these SOCs by taking videos and photos while being on cellular data and uploading on social platforms in between, while taking calls on Bluetooth
….and then check the performance and battery life because that’s what most people do.
Amazing analysis Ash... Really appreciate the effort you put in the video.
Look forward to the next video.
watched the whole video without skipping because it was that good but at 10:28 the clicks and bell sounds just ruined everything
Amazing comparison!
Did you also try emulators on the oppo?
Because mediatek was always struggling with emulator like winlator.
Still same thing
I appreciate your hard work. Best of luck bro.❤🎉
A lit comparison, felt like I time travelled to the old days of c4etech speed tests ❤
This test convinced me that the 9400 is far better! To be 45% more efficient on back to back benchmark tests says it all. Thank you for this comparison 🙏🏻
It's both better and cheaper than the 8 Elite
@@numalesoybea1348 yeah only issue is ai performance and driver optimization
Top notch comparison. Not surprised when it comes to Ash's reviews. Keep it up!
Awesome video ❤❤
You should do a emulation test on these processors like cemu or winlator
Love you for doing these types of useful videos
Great review!!!! Oh dear Qualcomm might have another hot SoC like the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. I also did wonder when I saw the high clock speeds on the Oryon cores whether they would be less efficient.
7:43 nice testing. turns out, as usual, the Snapdragon uses more power and heat for its performance. I'd rather pick 9400 device.
Watch geekerwan this guy is not trustable
In his test's (which are more detailed) 8 elite uses less power runs cooler and performs better.
@@Shahzad12357 Snapdragon historically is faster but consumes lot more power and more heat. It is not all bad if device has very good cooling or external cooler, and makes the SD Elite is superior.
Nice detailed honest comparison, keep up the good work
would you see if nubia redmagic ice 5 pro fan cooler will help in throttling & by how much? if we can have 90-95% stability score, i'm all for it
This is a first, and the only perfect way to do performance comparison.
Kudos 🎉
Excellent video..❤
Thanks for the lucid and thorough explanation 🎉
