My Dad passed away on November 23rd. I'm hoping to be able to take some of his clothing and create something for all of us. He was 92 and is survived by 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter. I'll be sewing for a while but so humbled that we can all have a piece of him with us for years to come.
This is pretty cool!! I have a free pattern from the Montana extension office and hadn't thought of using a sweater to make them! I have used upholstery fabric with vinyl on the palms. I want to make some to put in the winter box for kids.
Not for nothing but I’m not going to finish watching this video after looking for the pattern and seen it’s being sold for $9. I’m guessing that’s why very few people have watched this as well. There are multiple videos on you tube with free sweater mitten patterns.
I take a small hand stitch at the top of the mitten as well as the thumb to keep the lining from pulling out when taking the mittens off.
What is the reason you don’t sew the lining to each glove instead of having free
If you have serger I recommend serging the cuff edge to finish that edge

That is a big goal, but I am sure everyone will appreciate it.

Looks great. I'm wondering if placed higher up, to start with, 4 fronts could have been cut out....🤔
That's what I do!! The more you can make from one sweater, the better.
Can you make it where your fingers can be open then coverd if you want?
where can I find the actual printout pattern?
The pattern is only available as a PDF at the link below but you can print it.
