    I have been considering a plate loaded machine for a couple of years. I set up a gym in my home when my kids were born. Now some 35 years later I am looking at the safety factor as I mostly lift alone, but still handle pretty heavy weights. I really like the Quantum trainer. I need to measure my ceiling height to be sure it would fit. Great review.

      Thanks so much. One of the best things about this machine is it's so easy to move around if (like me) you end up changing your home gym location in your house.

    Quantum trainer Range of motion is the way to go. The bench press is like doing dumbbell bench just can't compare the two machines. Both really good machines, but I have to go with the quantum gym.

    The Quantum Trainer reminds me of the Sorinex Hurricane, wish it's shipped out of the US so we can get it a little cheaper than it's current price tag

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  16 днів тому +1

      I looked into the Sorninex and flashed the price on the screen on first review. It's actually made in the US (which I like), but that probably explains why it's another ~$1.5k more than the QT. Glen (the QT owner) told me he has about 18 left in a US warehouse that ships out within 48hrs in the continental states.

    Went to the Quantum Trainer website. There is no mention of accessories or detailed photos of what is included only word descriptions. A disappointing experience since purchasing via an online store it is imperative to have detailed information at hand since one cannot physically see the item.
    Thank You for your video. Nice job.

      They were there, but I think the owner has gone back in to make a few tweaks for improvement on his attachments. They will back most likely soon.

    Great comparison video. For the quantum lat pull-down, it would be amazing to have a dual setup to have options to do high rows (hard to pull off in a home gym). Quantum looks more fluid overall (leverage + swivels) but I imagine there is a trade off with both safety (seems a bit lacking vs powertec) and space annoyances getting clearances just right.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  13 днів тому +1

      I'd say the biggest practical difference is the QT just takes a bit more time to transition between exercises.

      @@hybridresistance agreed. I’ve actually complemented my powertec device with various specific exercise setups (leverage based). Deadlifts, hip thrusts - PIA setups no matter what. I’ve got ideas for building leverage seal rows, leverage chest/triceps press setups using my hip thrust machine

    Not much out there in terms of reviews for the QT2, but you've done a great job pointing out not just it's pros but also some caveats.
    This far, where does it stack amongst all the different equipment you've had/tested?

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  13 днів тому

      Thanks Danny. I'm actually thinking about doing an update video or summary of thoughts on some equipment in the near future. It's definitely one of the coolest most versatile pieces with regards to exercises. On an individual consumer level, the downside for people in a home gym would likely be the transition between exercises (no different than a rack though) and the vertical loading of the weights. It's top 10 for sure and possible in the top 5. I'm only hesitant because it's still relatively new to me. One of the best indicators of a good machine is how long consistently the user wants to keep going back to it. But that's going to vary from person to person.

      For the cost it isn't bad for those basic functions, I then have you check out my GMWD comparison as that makes even more sense if you're just using those exercises. ua-cam.com/video/tahnVv-3xr8/v-deo.html

    I really like the looks of the Quantum Trainer however, the website for ordering sets off some red flags with me. Its very basic and reminds me of websites that sell "amazing products at a discount" type marketing. Its not as robust as I am use to with other places I have ordered equipment and doesn't have a contact phone number for customer service or other product offerings/ No offense intended, but the website looks "fly buy night-ish" I want to purchase a unit but at over $3,000 are you able to share anything that would alleviate my concerns above. Looking to buy...thanks!

      @hybridresistance  9 днів тому

      This is very good feedback as I've shared with Glenn that I've had some concerns as well over the website, specifically with how it responds for US customers. But I the owner Glen is the real deal and will directly talk to you about any concerns as well as ways to order if you don't want to use the website. He also has been in this business developing this machine for many years. I can for sure say this is not a fly by night company. I would just shoot him an email about this and he'll get right back to you. He is in the UK, so there's a time zone difference.

    Great video . Body solid makes a lever gym for 1,050 and 1,300 with there bench and is made up of 11 gauge round steel fram. I'm considering buying it when the funds come in . P2 looks amazing thank you for reviewing it.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  16 днів тому

      Thank David and thanks for that info on the body solid. That machine also looks great. The only downside to that one is that the arms are fixed and can't be used in isolation. Not a giant deal, but just something some people don't notice right away.

      @ECIA78 16 днів тому

      thanks Mike. Great video and huge insight as usual. From your thorough and in depth analysis i would buy both (but i can not afford both of them). Key pint is that i can infer from your review huge value in both, not necessarily being mutually exclusive and not necessarily having that much overlap. Price points, destination, segment, usage, loading, mechanics are different. As an average lifter with limited footage and straining for versatility i still consider the levergym to be one of the best value proposition in the market. Or the BodySolid alternative as David pointed out, but for a couple of hundreds bucks i would stay with the Powertec. The QT2 is something amazing in terms of quality, reach, range of motion, potential, and the price is well deserved, i genuinely believe that me as a lifter maybe still do not deserve that much of an opportunity as it would be like putting a Lamborghini engine in a STELLANTIS car. thanks mike gray job as usual.

      The Powertec is a mix of 11 gauge and 12 gauge. The main frame is 11 gauge but the lever arms and side rails are 12 gauge.
      The bodysolid is not totally 11 gauge either. Just the main frame is 11 gauge just like the powertec.
      And yes i owned both.

    If you compared the $3000 Quantum Trainer with the $2000 PowerTech Workbench Multi-sysytem then the PowerTech would win. I don't know how they got away with that high
    loading point on the lat-pulldown with the Quantum Trainer, what were they thinking???

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  16 днів тому +1

      That's good one to throw in for sure. Definitely not a bad value for that foot print. The vertical loader on the lat pull will change to a horizontal loader when it releases. Not going to lie, it freaked me out the first few times I used it.

      I don't agree. Speed to change exercises, yes.
      But most of the shortcomings of the Levergym remain. I actually prefer the Levergym to the Multi system.
      As always, this is all individual preferences.

  • @powerplanthomegym

    Great unbiased comparison dude. Having always wanted a plate loaded leverage machine for my home gym powertec was probably top of my list, but after seeing the QT and what it could do it was a no brainer for me. I’ve tried most lever gyms now I think the powertec will suit most people especially on a budget but I think if anyone can stretch for the QT they won’t regret it, I certainly haven’t. Also, having tried most of the hammer strength machines, panatta plate loaded machines etc I think this replicates a lot of them machines so well in one package and for a fraction of the price, that’s the way I looked at it and the value seems unreal then. I think what Glens managed to achieve with this machine is outstanding, people really need to experience it to understand and appreciate it. The feeling for pressing movements is some of the best I’ve ever felt, it’s like a dumbbell with the safety and flow of a machine. Once this machine gets more exposure and experienced more I believe it’ll blow up and be everywhere.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  16 днів тому +1

      Thanks for all that information and providing another user experience. I'm with you on that, that once people try it and it gets more exposure, it could take off. Not sure if more in the home gym or commercial market. Time will tell though.

    The Quantum trainer is nice piece of equipment, but at the end of the day it's still a lever and it too overpriced...

    • @powerplanthomegym
      @powerplanthomegym 16 днів тому +2

      The price isn’t high when you consider one piece of hammer strength equipment like a chest press is 3.5k for one machine. This machine does tonnes!

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  16 днів тому +1

      It's definitely high (relatively) for the home gym consumer, but when you compare it to other commercial pieces of similar function, it's actually fairly cheap when you consider the price includes shipping. There's a lot popular home machines that are not too bad on sticker price, but then add another ~$250-$500 on shipping.

    Have you ever tried the decline bench press on the leverage gym? It’s much easier to get into. I just didn’t know if you think the flat bench is better than the decline.

    • @hybridresistance

      I tried it on my gmwd lever gym, but I don't think on the powertec. Nothing for or against the exercise, just didn't do it yet.
