    The more I learn about Japanese the more fascinating I find it. Good stuff, Duane. I'm really enjoying these!

    Just watched your first two videos on this song and am so glad that you have done these videos for Baby Metal. Since Su-Metal sings, and pronounces her words, so clearly I have been using their music to help with vocabulary and pronunciation. However, the exact meaning is hard to get sometimes. These videos have really been helping out. Thank you so much for taking the time to step through some really catchy lyrics.

    Do you think it possible that 'chigau' means 'wrong' rather than 'different' in some cases in the song, that it's punning on both meanings?

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  4 роки тому +1

      That's possible. But the song starts by saying, "Everything is the same; that's what everybody says, but ......" So, chigau in the song is stressing the subtle differences.

    Great video as always, cheers Duane. The "e" between "a" and "i" stuff was interesting - in fact just last night I was watching a Japanese video game stream and saw the chat constantly saying こええええええ.. so that is the same as こわい?
    Also - in Bri'ish English the glo'al stop can be found in qui'e a lo' of regional accents! Wa'er (water).. Be'er (better).. Bo'le (bottle)..

      Yes, Kowai becomes Kowee or Koee. In Am Eng. also some words like Kitten become Ki'n.

    What is that funny sound he makes when saying okaaayyy, you can always hear it after sentence, like dying eeeeeee. xD

    • @DuaneMetal
      @DuaneMetal  8 років тому +2

      That's Japanese "Ne". It's like a tag question "Isn't it?" in English, and Canadian "Eh".

      Oh, Thanks! Sorry if my question sounded rude, didn't really know how to describe it! ^^

      I know no offense was intended. :-) It's just my habit of speech, sorry.

    I would say kini naru is a good way to describe the song in general.
    By the way, if you dont mind me asking, will you be going to Tokyo Dome? I picked up some re-sale tickets and will be coming to Japan for about a week. Also going to go see BiSH, and i hope Torahime-Ichiza as well. Maybe Band-Maid too, i haven't decided on them yet due to the price.

      I'm going crazy to get a ticket for the Red Night now. I think I can get one. Enjoy the shows!
