Magnitude Reviews Scarlett looks like she’s gonna go on a little run as well. End game earlier this year, JoJo rabbit, marriage story and Black widow to start 2020
I don't know the process of getting divorced, but I totally agree. It was seeing just how methodical yet heartbreaking this process truly is. It shows the reality of what going through a divorce is like and that's what makes this movie so good. Adam Driver broke my heart with this movie, he's that good in it.
There is something about Adam that is so real. In his roles I am familiar with, he brings such a relatable character. Adam will have a long career because of his approach. I love and follow him. Much success
@Diego Pisfil Why do you show up on every Adam Driver discussion just to show your preference for Phoenix? We get it. You want Phoenix to win. But why not just go watch Phoenix? Your preference isn't going to affect of the outcome. Why do we need to hear from you every time someone mentions Adam Driver and the Oscars?
03:16 Seth: What was your role in "Oklahoma"? The lead, I'm assuming? Adam: No, no. I was a chorus member. I had a line that -- How did you find that? His awkward laugh is everything 😂
Jennifer Peterson I honestly think the strength of this movie lies more in the writing than the acting. The acting is incredible but I could’ve seen other people wearing those shoes, with equal brilliance
Molten Butter I believe it was written with the specific cast in mind (with input from them as well if I recall cast interviews correctly) so maybe it really needed to be both the writing and the actors.
Kelly Le Kelly Le I understand, but that isn’t what I’m trying to say. I meant that the writing of this movie is where it shines not whether it was written for specific actors in mind. If you watch the video Adam says “ if anything it was a testament to the good writing “ and in another interview Noah said that everything was written in the script, practically nothing is improvised. Again I’m not saying Adam wasn’t great but honestly you could’ve replaced him with Jake Gyllenhaal for ex, and Scarlett with idk Amy Adams, and it still would have worked. What I’m saying is that it is all a testament to Noah’s great writing and precision, not the great work of the actors, what really lifts this film up is how freakishly well written it is. Like the scene where he’s supposed to prove that he’s a good father to that lady from the CPS ( I think it was the CPS, but correct me if I’m wrong ) just rewatch it if you don’t remember it and keep in mind that this was all written with great precision, that way you’ll understand that the real praise should be going to Noah. Also we finally have a good child actor playing a realistic kid, not a movie kid like in “ home alone “ and many/ most other movies that cast children that I can’t think of off the top of my head. Essentially, everything fit right into place in his script and that’s bloody brilliant. I rest my case
I loved Marriage Story, I tried to get my familiy on board, they simply said it was ' Depressing'... I think the biggest hurdle for getting people on board is to see passed the first 3 or 4 scenes. It is such a beautiful movie, some people just cant see through to the message, and that's okay. The cinematography is awesome. Love how the Director never made us sit through a still scene, whether it's a water bottle, or Scar going to the washroom to blow her nose, its all intentional . I see you.
Have recently watched Hungry Hearts too...both leads were AMAZING...someone has uploaded the whole movie on Y/T...I went through a whole gamut of feelings.
What a Michael Jordan-level lesson for high schoolers who are disappointed when they only get a bit player part in a school play. So did Adam Driver! AND he eventually went to Juilliard ... and then created this extraordinary career that no one could have predicted.
Am I the only one who thought Marriage Story was so sad? The characters clearly loved each other in a slow ache kind of way that was always there, even when they got into their ugliest fights, so why couldn’t they fix things.
It is sad, but looks like they had lack of communication. And by the time they started to communicate it was already too late. This is just like real marriage and divorce.
I tried to watch it, but I couldn’t even get through a 40 second clip without crying. My parents aren’t divorced yet, but they fight like cats and dogs and I have childhood trauma surrounding conflict, (that use to seriously hamper my movie going experience because I would try to leave once conflict started to happen. Luckily after therapy I’m mostly over it) which I trace to me being a serial placater. I felt so scared during the 20 seconds.
I honestly in the end was hoping they work things out and cancel the divorce and all...but this is life and things like this really happen..hurts your heart..it hurt mine
I'm here two years later, having watched "The Marriage Story," never knew "Company," and listening to Adam's "Being Alive" really blew me away. It was like that song was made for his character. Not only that, but when I listened to other versions, I'm like "Yeah, no, Adam's is the best!"
You can tell Seth hasn't watched the film 🙈 Go check out the Stephen Colbert interview with Adam. Stephen's seen the film. And the interview is better for it🙌
I'm a huge DC fan but Marriage Story should've taken the Oscar for best actor instead of Joker. Driver's performance seemed too real to be considered "acting"
At the end of the segment with Adam Diver and the beginning of Hozier’s song, there was an astonishing 10 minutes and 30 seconds of commercials. This is utterly deplorable. It’s no wonder Seth brushes off his guests so quickly. I will not be watching Seth Myers any more.
I would rather get mad at the time and frequency of commercials in the USA in general. I like watching TV but man.. how do you Americans endure that much commercials in general?!
@@jonnnnniej This is why a 60 minute football game takes over 3 hours to play. They even have built-in time-outs for commercials. I don't endure it. I turn the sound off and read during them.
@@billiey36 I heard that's why soccer will never get as big in America as it is in Europe or South America. Because it's a game that has two 45 minutes halves with only a 15 minutes break in between. (the break is used for some commercials but mostly recapping the first half) That would never fly in America right? Reading is a good salutation though!
my man getting that amazon, netflix, and disney $$$$$
Not to mention all that HBO money from Girls.
Diversifying that portfolio
Well-deserved. He's so talented plus paid his dues in the Marines!
utubefreshieagn That statement would conclude he then has garnered all his successes in the military.
T. Lee and HBO
Not hating on Phoenix but there’s something about Driver in Marriage Story that’s so real it’s not even acting
Yeah when his voice cracks when he’s about to cry in the movie is really captivating. I had no clue he was such a good emotional actor
Scarlett though, oof. Idk man, can't everyone have the award? What about Willem Dafoe?
@@Trowa71 Scarlett can win Best Actress
He was fantastic!
To be fair every performance he gives feels absurdly real.
December is the Month of Adam Driver:
- The Report
- Marriage Story
- Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker
lucky us!!!

YES SIR!
His birthday is in november to i thibk
He also had The Dead Don’t Die a few months ago
I've been a domestic law paralegal for 14 years. Marriage Story was like watching an actual case through the eyes of the clients.

Charlie cries easily when watching movies while I can't but this movie broke me to bits... inside. Still can't cry though.
None of this dude's answers are just quick throw away answers. He really is open about the things he speaks about, and it's so refreshing.
His awkwardness makes him unintentionally funny 😂
Um also unconsciously sexy.

Adam's winning the Oscar for Marriage Story. Simple.
