For all Home Barista and Coffee Enthusiast who watched this video, after getting few input here is my conclusion: 1. It is best to clean your shower screen and group head in advance before back flush, to ensure left offer coffee doesn't sucked back into e61 system. 2. Back flush once in a while without any cleaning powder. After more than 50 times brewing then backflush with cleaning powder is needed however so is lubricating cam will be needed to ensure smooth process during open and close. 3. Few asked privately about descaling as their machine going to be 1 year, according to Mauro if you use water softener then you need to do descaling after 1 year. If not means you need to do a little faster if your water is hard.
Great Video, I just bought the Mara X, I wanted to get the Elizabeth but everyone has been sold out for some time and I got the OK for new machine but could not find Elizabeth and the Bianca is just to big for my counter so settled for Mara X on sale in U.S. $340.00 Off
really great!! thanks so much, I was having trouble getting the showerhead back in place and your detailed video really helped!! thanks from a new Mara X owner :D
Fwiw… a portafilter screen does an unbelievable job of keeping the machine clean. Basically.. when you extract or or infuse… the espresso blooms Then the three way valve sucks the bloom up into your group head This is why it gets so dirty If you use a screen… t contains the bloom and mostly keeps the inside of the machine clean
Interesting video again! Just a question, I've been told that you had to use Cafelatz powder only ONCE every 200 cups so not every week, otherwise it will require a lubrification much much sooner.
Hi Janice you got it right, to be honest i'm a bit spoilt with a helper at home she cleans my reservoir actually every 3 days. Hi. Nice video. Any tips on how to clean the metal holding the portafilter inside of the group head= So if this is the crossection of the group head: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O SSSSSSSSSSSSSS O O x x O OOO OOO O is the metal of the group head S is where the showerscreen sits x is where i don't get it clean gone Would appreciate any tips.
Hi stef, do you know why at the tip of my steam wand its kinda have discolor to rainbowish color? Is it normal? I just bought lelit mara x for almost two weeks now
Hi Stefanus, is it safe to soak those metal (basket, shower screen, portafilter) for hours with Cafiza solution? I was told just to soak it for 15 minutes with warm water.
Hi in this video used original shower screen. I don't really think these makes a lot of different in taste but for me it is basically about having fun in the process of upgrading.
Do you still have the marax? What is your long term experience with the official flow control from lelit? Have you experienced any leaks? I'm considering flow control for my marax.
As much as i try to sell the flow control, i have to be honest thermometer is cheaper and its certainly more important. Unless you are already an expert and able to predict your machine perfectly. So for now buy thermometer, clock the second and see how it behaves (cross check with pressure) once you able to guess the temperature fluctuation then perhaps few months or years down the road you can upgrade for flow control.
You probably should remake the video. You should clean the group and the shower head first before even considering blackflushing with the cafiza. Backflushing the cafiza with the group/shower head dirty will end up loosening the grit (because you didn't clean it beforehand) and force dirt back further into the system. Also every backflushing with the cafiza should require you to relube the E61 cam.
Hi buddy, i can simply edit the video but its a little too late. However your idea quite make scense. I made this video just based on others cleaning video that i watch on youtube as well, most of them back flush then simply clean the group head. And if you can see its finally clean water
@@StefanusGoana many wrong methods are propagated because no further thoughts are given before making another publication. You can definitely do better now you know.
@@StefanusGoana Yes. Simply take out the shower screen together with the gasket, clean it thoroughly then clean your grouphead before putting it back again. After this, do your backflushing as usual with the cleaned shower screen and gasket installed back again. Backflushing is not meant to clean the exterior of your grouphead, it is meant to flush the internals of the group via the bottom purge. After the final backflushing, you do not need to clean the shower screen again but simply purge some water through your group head (as if you're pulling a shot) to make sure the group is really clean from the cafiza. For E61, it is crucial you lube the cam after a cafiza flush. Unfortunately because this E61 is not solenoid driven, you have to stay on top of maintaining your cam grease.
If you treat your wife with such care she is a lucky girl. very informative, thanks.

Stefanus, you are brilliant consulting me much more that instructions in manual. Keep going!

Well done 👍🏼 and to the point. Thanks a lot! 🙏🏼
Great video, thank you! Would love one on lubing the cam next!! 😃
I'm working on it
Great informative content. Loved the beginning of the video :)
Finally someone appreciate our little drama LOL

Yes i do agree not too often.
Great video, thank you.
I have married Mara's sister yesterday 3 times a day 😁 👍
Hi Stefanus, many thanks for your video which is very useful. What do you think, if I put all small parts in a dishwasher machine. Is it risky?
No problem
haha the water tank behind? make sure it’s clean, and the filter is replaced after a few months of use

Hi. Nice video. Any tips on how to clean the metal holding the portafilter inside of the group head= So if this is the crossection of the group head:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hi you have an awesome way to explain hahaha.... for that x part i just use my brush and stuff cloth inside to rub everything i can.
Hi stef, do you know why at the tip of my steam wand its kinda have discolor to rainbowish color? Is it normal? I just bought lelit mara x for almost two weeks now
Hi it should be fine, i'm not sure why but maybe you rub it too hard?
Hi Stefanus, is it safe to soak those metal (basket, shower screen, portafilter) for hours with Cafiza solution? I was told just to soak it for 15 minutes with warm water.
I'm sure ad well but so far i find no problem
Are you using a standard Lelit shower filter in your machine? Do you think its worth upgrading to the IMS?

@@LandsoulFFXI yup very much alive. Flow control still work as well and i'm loving it
@@StefanusGoana ty, just ordered the official lelit kit. Can't wait :)
Can we use baking soda instead?
I haven't tried, but you can try i think there is no harm to try
Relubing the cams...?
This is true need to relube the cam however it is not a weekly thing in my opinion
Hi Stefanus, between the e61 thermometer or the flow control kit w group manometer, which one would you recommend to get a consistent taste ?
As much as i try to sell the flow control, i have to be honest thermometer is cheaper and its certainly more important. Unless you are already an expert and able to predict your machine perfectly.
So for now buy thermometer, clock the second and see how it behaves (cross check with pressure) once you able to guess the temperature fluctuation then perhaps few months or years down the road you can upgrade for flow control.
@@StefanusGoana Thank you very much for your quick and clear reply!
Whats the brush of choice you recommend here Stefanus?
As in the video an extra angled brush so hot water will not flow down to your hand
Mara x or pl62t? i prefer the second
Actually if you need to read temperature then Grouphead thermometer provide better accurate reading, and its easy to install in any E61 grouphead

So we have to clean our shower screen first, then fix it back to do backflush, then clean the shower screen again for the last time?

@@ooitzeyang sorry for stupid question but what does cam mean?
lmfao at that introduction. Thanks for the content!
1st Line are recommending backflushing about every 50 shots.
