James, I first heard Melba on an LP duet with the Legend George Jones. Their voices seemed to be meant for such a combination. (The LP I heard was in the 1970s, here in the UK) These songs and performances from the late 50s to the mid 1980s will never be bettered by all those artists who have now passed on. Garth Brooks, one good hit, and swinging around from the bloody ceiling !! I still search the net (at 80 years old) and find "new" to me songs by Melba, George, Mel Tillis, and all those great singers who just appeared on stage with a guitar, or mic., and did not need to make an appearance from the heights. Many thanks for your ownload.
Did you know Melba was a songwriter? She penned a few on this record, including We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds. She's got a classic hillbilly voice too, like Jeanie Shepperd. I always appreciate that.
OHHHHHH, WOWWW, SO BEAUTIFUL AND FEEL IT WAY DOWN IN YOUR SWEET HEART. HUMMMM, YESSSS INDEED, I JUST LOVE LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. I'VE NEVER HEARD IT, BUT AWWWW, SO AWESOME.

Did she sing with a girl named Connie on Roy Acuff's "Open House"? Beautiful just beautiful
I do know that Melba was a "girl singer" with Roy Acuff's show before she went solo.
