Hey Sheila, from Maggie in 8b northwest florida. One of these days I will make up to your neck of the woods and check out your facility. I did a few garden tours of my fall gardening recently, garlic, radishes, carrots, okra still making, sunchokes, turmeric, ginger, galangal, and my pride and joy this year is the ROSELLE ! I got the seed from you all in 2021! This year it towered over my head, I had to top it when I wrapped it in frost blanket due to that early frost the end of October. That saved it! It is blooming full force now and I hope for a good harvest.
Mama Hoss, thank you for all that you do. I made your cowboy candy yesterday and have plans to make some of your recipes with all the roselle calyxes. The I'ITOI bunchinh onions pronounced “EE-toy. I'm glad I found you guys. P.s. I have to stop myself from staying outside and getting dirty❤
Great video mama Hoss. I planted my garlic and Thom onions mid October. My garlic has already popped through the leaf mulch. I found out last year that the Thom multiplying onions will actually over winter in my raised beds fine. We got down to 10 degrees here in upstate, SC during that artic blast, i just pushed up dirt over the onions to cover them and they came right back.
Very nice garden! How do you attach the drip emitters to a water source? Is it hooked up some way to a garden hose? I've never understood how to do that.
Just luck. We had freeze/frost predicted last week, but only got down to 37 and warmed back up. Weather looks good for the next weeks so I should be able to harvest. I have lost them in the past to an early frost.
It’s a gamble every year, but next year will have some new seed that will bloom earlier and you will not have to worry about it getting killed by the frost stune
@@gardeningwithhoss it was beautiful too but in zone 6 with such a late spring just not enough time. Gonna start real early inside next year n transfer to big pots to get a jump start.
Mama Hoss, I have to tell you I have calf muscle envy!! Yours are amazing.
From running cross country, track and playing basketball in high school. Muscle memory, thanks

Wonderful!
I like how you have that sitting area in your garden. My mom would really love that.
I’m in zone 8a. I just planted my garlic last week. I hope they will come up…. First time planting.

Glad you enjoyed it
Love this video. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Really wonderful job Ms Sheila! What a beautiful space.
Thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing your fall garden planting, can you explain to me regarding drip tape how often you water and how long please.
I water every other day if not rain. I leave it on for about 1 hour. I do have valves at each bed so I can turn individual beds off if not needed.
Amazing garden, wondering if you will have a lazy garden this fall to video? Just purchased a lazy garden for spring
Yes, soon
@@gardeningwithhoss awesome, really trying to get as much info on a good start this year coming with the silage tarp and lazy garden

Check out the video below as it shows these steps.

Well that explains why my carrots don't grow well
I live in zone 8b in Mississippi and this is the second year I lost my roselle hibiscus calyx to frost. How do you keep yours from the frost?

That onion is spelled with an I (eye) and is pronounced "E-e-toy". Or some just say "E-toy".
thanks
Lost all my roscelle
So sorry to hear, I know from experience how disappointing it can be.
