So glad to find an 8b TX channel.

You're the only gardener I have found making videos specifically in 8b zone of Texas. Most seem to be a little farther north or Hill Country. I'm out here in blackland prairie near San Marcos where there is no natural shade. Thank you for addressing the heat and sun problems! Also about planting in late July! I like that you keep it real, not fancy :D

Yes! I searched for exactly a channel like this.
I am in Bulverde Texas in a new home. Today I starting to work on building some raised beds.
Summer was a small garden disaster!! 🔥 ☀️ lol.
New subscriber, new-ish Texas gardener …I look forward to learning.

Thanks for making this! Just what I needed since I had trouble figuring out what to start in the hot late summer

Yay!! Although I find fall gardening in central Texas to be very rewarding, I think it can be tricky in that way. Best wishes!! ✨

Hey Scott, love the channel!!!!!!! We planted a late summer bumper crop by seed a few weeks ago and will be posting a series video from start to harvest in a few more weeks. Now we just need the weather to cool down. We've been gardening here in north central Texas for over 30 years. I think we are going to wait a couple more weeks for the fall crop. Shade cover is ready to go. Thanks Scott!!!!!!!!! Mike

Thanks for the video! I'm just north of you in Round Rock. Will you please show us what you'll be planting for fall? Keep up the great work!

Hello neighbor! So, a basic overview of what I will be growing for the fall? I'm happy to do so. I assume you mean crops like carrots, lettuce, and broccoli?

@@newgardenroad, yes. Also if you direct sow your broccoli, start it indoors, or purchase transplants. Tips for growing carrots. Everyone seems to have a different way. Thank you!

Nice I am also in zone 8b but in bc Canada would the same crops you planted be applied to where I am?

Hello! The key is knowing your first average frost, that will give you an idea of how much time that you have to grow some of these tender crops. This correlates to the days to harvest for a specific crop. It looks like the date for your area is sometime around late October, so that would not work out for beans, squash, and cucumbers.
