The first of this Month marks exactly 1 month since I’ve been in business and I’ve made over 7k! I’m MIND BLOWN by the potential that exists in this industry. Started my LLC for my cleaning business about a year ago. I've got all of my business accounts, the business insurance, a phone number, a website about 75 percent complete. Just need to get some marketing materials like business cards and flyers and some uniforms and put the business out there. I'll admit, it's quite frightening making that first official step of introducing my business to the public. But I'm really trying to put that initial fear aside and just go!!! Thanks for this video.
Brother stop procrastinating- just get going. @@JulienUA-cam87 my wife and I started our business PeachesVille Cleaning Solutions in 2016 ended up shutting it down because we got to overwhelmed with clients and we couldn’t find any help. We started it back up in December 2021 and we now have 2 airbnbs we clean and 4 other clients in a monthly/biweekly plan. We are doing it and in a little over a month we are already this far just by word of mouth and Facebook groups. I am planning on leaving my full time job in march! So we can both clean full time and expand. This is my second time watching this video, it is extremely informative and inspirational information.

I am managing a cleaning company that's about the same size as this one, as well as training employees. I have a very high standard of cleaning excellence. My golden question is- how do you train employees to clean with that same level of excellence? It takes much more than the detailed training that i give them. I need a way to communicate that clearly demonstrates the level of cleaning I need from them. Anyone have any tips?
Hey Delilah, This is a problem I face in the warehousing/distribution business. It took awhile for me to understand why I bust my ass and why my employees don’t. Employee’s aren’t typically emotionally invested in the business and don’t view themselves moving up in the company.. for most it’s just a job. Therefore they have a lack of pride in doing their job. You can pay better than market average, treat your employees with respect, and give them above average benefits. This will raise production/cleanliness but will increase costs. I think it is best to listen to exactly what your employees want/need. Just remember, You are a leader and want to increase revenue and profits. They are employees and do not see the same amount of benefit from this increase. Hope this helps.
I don’t have my own business but I do work in housekeeping & have started training new employees & what I have learned that works best for me is to let them focus on one area per day, that way they’re not scattered all over the place & feel overwhelmed & I found that it helps me a lot (not as stressful).
You need to at least follow up with a customer satisfaction survey. From 1-10how they would rate their cleaning service. Then, collect those served monthly by name of the employee who cleaned the place. Do it like an incentive, the employee who gets the highest rate gets an incentive for the month.
@@DB-mk1hz exactly!! Employees don’t have that same “passion” as you do, as a the owner. To them it’s just a job…Just another paycheck. Better pay, incentives/benefits could be the push they need. I’d suggest talking with them too. Talk to them as a group or maybe individually and see what they want/need. 🤷🏽

How would you recommend getting more residential home cleanings? And what percent of your jobs are move out/in? About 30% of our jobs are Move out cleanings, What I do to convert the one time customers into recurring is by offering discounts based on the frequency: for monthly cleaning we give them 10 % off, biweekly cleaning 15% off, and weekly cleaning 20% off

@@UpFlip I started in 2018. I have now 60 houses and 2 small offices. I prefer hire people without experience because I will teach them my way and I really recommend this. It’s important to pay them good in order to have the work done as you trained them. I learned to check if they have any criminal background. I ask my clients to buy the cleaning supplies that I choose. I always left the supplies there. I never had problem with that. It’s a hard work, but it’s satisfying to see the results. Plus, the money is good. I think quality is way important than quantity. I can get more clients, but I would have to hire more people and lately people don’t want to do this kind the service. As I wrote before, all depends on you and be the best and you will see the results😃

What services are usually included in a move in/out cleaning? Do you scrub carpets and remove trash? Or is it basic deep cleaning like walls, floor boards, ceiling fans etc? Also, how do you know exactly what you're getting into if they're submitting the online form? If a home is in bad shape after a move out and you're not aware of it until showing up, do you change the price?
Move out cleanings are very through. You have to clean top to bottom plus inside the appliances and cabinets. Yes if the the home is in a bad state, we adjust the price, hope this helps

Usually what you find in UA-cam is invaluable content, but I have to say that this one hit a home run!!! I have a small commercial cleaning with a franchise that hasn’t been working very well for about six years and now that I’m almost done with my school, I definitely want to put more time into growing my business and finally leave my 7:30-4 job and start working for myself and be able to become an employer that helps others. I am managing a cleaning company that's about the same size as this one, as well as training employees. I have a very high standard of cleaning excellence. My golden question is- how do you train employees to clean with that same level of excellence? It takes much more than the detailed training that i give them. I need a way to communicate that clearly demonstrates the level of cleaning I need from them. Anyone have any tips?
Hey Delilah,
This is a problem I face in the warehousing/distribution business. It took awhile for me to understand why I bust my ass and why my employees don’t.
Employee’s aren’t typically emotionally invested in the business and don’t view themselves moving up in the company.. for most it’s just a job. Therefore they have a lack of pride in doing their job. You can pay better than market average, treat your employees with respect, and give them above average benefits. This will raise production/cleanliness but will increase costs. I think it is best to listen to exactly what your employees want/need.
Just remember,
You are a leader and want to increase revenue and profits. They are employees and do not see the same amount of benefit from this increase.

I don’t have my own business but I do work in housekeeping & have started training new employees & what I have learned that works best for me is to let them focus on one area per day, that way they’re not scattered all over the place & feel overwhelmed & I found that it helps me a lot (not as stressful).
Have them focus on the same areas for a few days/weeks (if working with other team members) or have the best team members train new team members.
You need to at least follow up with a customer satisfaction survey. From 1-10how they would rate their cleaning service. Then, collect those served monthly by name of the employee who cleaned the place. Do it like an incentive, the employee who gets the highest rate gets an incentive for the month.
@@DB-mk1hz exactly!! Employees don’t have that same “passion” as you do, as a the owner. To them it’s just a job…Just another paycheck. Better pay, incentives/benefits could be the push they need. I’d suggest talking with them too. Talk to them as a group or maybe individually and see what they want/need. 🤷🏽
I started my cleaning service 8 months ago, first it was quite slow but after 5 months we changed some things with the ads and now it's really picking up speed.

How would you recommend getting more residential home cleanings? And what percent of your jobs are move out/in?

About 30% of our jobs are Move out cleanings, What I do to convert the one time customers into recurring is by offering discounts based on the frequency:
for monthly cleaning we give them 10 % off, biweekly cleaning 15% off, and weekly cleaning 20% off

@@UpFlip I started in 2018. I have now 60 houses and 2 small offices. I prefer hire people without experience because I will teach them my way and I really recommend this. It’s important to pay them good in order to have the work done as you trained them. I learned to check if they have any criminal background. I ask my clients to buy the cleaning supplies that I choose. I always left the supplies there. I never had problem with that. It’s a hard work, but it’s satisfying to see the results. Plus, the money is good. I think quality is way important than quantity. I can get more clients, but I would have to hire more people and lately people don’t want to do this kind the service. As I wrote before, all depends on you and be the best and you will see the results😃

My secret is to delegate as much as possible so I can focus on growing the business, definitely hire people from other countries like the Philippines and Mexico

What services are usually included in a move in/out cleaning? Do you scrub carpets and remove trash? Or is it basic deep cleaning like walls, floor boards, ceiling fans etc? Also, how do you know exactly what you're getting into if they're submitting the online form? If a home is in bad shape after a move out and you're not aware of it until showing up, do you change the price?
Move out cleanings are very through. You have to clean top to bottom plus inside the appliances and cabinets.
Yes if the the home is in a bad state, we adjust the price, hope this helps
