    just bought this for my daughter for christmas. its great for beginners. has a good variety of sounds. i hooked it up to my peavy rumble 100 bass combo and it sounds great. set up is actually extremely simple. i had fun messing around with it. the pedals do tend to move around a bit, and no the snare isnt the best but for the price u cant go wrong.

    To record the DM6, connect a cable between either the Phones or Output jack on the back of the DM6 and the input of your computer's sound card. Those outputs are stereo, so you will need a cable with a 1/4" stereo jack on one end, and whatever connectors are available on your sound card on the other. I'm sure there are instructions and diagrams in the manual.

    Thank you for this video !!! that helped me to see what kind of sound that thing has and so it helped me to chose my drum kit, this is a good drum kit : O

  • @SebGee
    @SebGee  14 років тому

    yes. there is an input in the back for an mp3 player or regular jack.. im not sure if its a 3.5mm or a 3/4 inch.. but if its a 3.5mm you can always get an adaptor, but yes is the answer.

  • @PreyAmongTheWolves

    you go to a particular kit (make it a user kit - 11 onwards). click 'voice' and then hit the pad you want to change the volume for. click the 'volume' button and then adjust the volume with the volume + and - buttons, not the master volume. save the kit by pressing the 'save' button twice.

    Awesome video! Thanks for showing all the sounds and what not, cause ring getting one of these beauties! And most other vids the users seem to pick the most midi sound available!
    You can also hook it up to programmes for famous kit sound!!

    these drum reviews are so much better then listening to someone whos stating their opinion they just need to play and see how it sounds and responds! 5/5 :)

    wow, been awhile. yes, in fact I did, though the add-to-cart was a couple weeks after I had thought. For a beginner-intermediate I love it! I still think an acoustic set is necessary to round everything out, especially since i'll be moving into a house soon, but for late night apt. jamming and midi recording, this is the way to go.

  • @markvmmm
    @markvmmm 13 років тому

    @iPunish3rr kit is ok, if you hit ride cymbal you get ride sound and if you hit it harder you get bell sound, its pretty cool. most rubber pads are noisy, if its to noisy for you, than you can buy some mesh heads.

  • @sorskilla
    @sorskilla 13 років тому

    @wiseguymarc That will vary depending on the model of pedal you intend to use. Bear in mind that the trigger on the kick pad is about 12 cm in diameter. If the beaters on the pedal are adjustable or close enough to each other, then yes, you can use a double pedal.

    @Jordadahhh14
    Actually I took the liberty of purchasing this kit myself and I must say:
    3. You do not necessarily need a MIDI cable to hook it up with your PC. You can use a standard USB 1 cable and then simulate MIDI input via MIDI emulator software. As for Addictive, yes, you need to use an ASIO4ALL driver to reduce the input latency.
    5. The hi-hat, much to my dismay, CANNOT reproduce a half-open, half-closed sound. You can only hit open, closed, pedal closing and pedal splash.

  • @Jordadahhh14
    @Jordadahhh14 13 років тому

    @TheLeaguePlayer Depends on what you need. - For learning, Recording, Practising than definitely yes - For a Big gig, No, but for a small gigs Yes.

  • @Jordadahhh14
    @Jordadahhh14 13 років тому

    @wiseguymarc Yes, The triggers are on the pad, not the pedal it's self, so yes, all you will need it a standard double kick pedal.

  • @SebGee
    @SebGee  14 років тому

    you need a mini jack to mini jack (3.5 mm) lead.. that goes into the output in the back of the module into the mic input in your laptop

    @MrIzzPizz You don't HAVE too, only to record - To hear the kit all you need is Headphones/In-Ears, or an AMP

  • @MrLubiDee
    @MrLubiDee 11 років тому

    the sound comes from the speaker, you have to plug it in... the good thing about it is that you can use headphones if you don't want to make too mush noise.

    yea you can.. there is a USB port and you can download programs that work with this drum kit

  • @Jordadahhh14
    @Jordadahhh14 13 років тому

    @jejugo1 Yes, IT has a nice acoustic sound when used with an AMP, I've played in an open park, It was very loud and real sounding. You can choke them, BUT you can buy an upgrade for Dual sound and and choke!
    The only default 'daul zone' is the Ride, with has Ride and the bell of the ride.

    @ransisua No, But if you hit the ride harder it makes different noises; You can buy 2-Zone upgrade pads.

  • @jesskahl
    @jesskahl 13 років тому

    To answer questions on double bass, it is possible, but, you need a double bass adapter that will fit into the kick drum chord slot and you can plug in your kick drum chord and a guitar hero kick drum into it. I apologize if you do not understand what I just said, it's tough to explain, but it is possible.

  • @minihats
    @minihats 15 років тому

    and as for whether DM5 or DM6 is better, its more a matter of what you use it for. if you want loads of sounds and ability to expand the kit and stuff like that, go for the dm5. if you just want something simple to use and compact, go for the dm6.

  • @Jordadahhh14

    @jmwallets i think it'll probably have a jack on it, so you can either use headphones or an amp.

  • @Jordadahhh14
    @Jordadahhh14 13 років тому

    @MrIzzPizz Yes, The Frame and 4 big rubber stoppers at the bottom, and the arm are long. The pads don't feel like real drum heads, but they bounce better then 'Real Drum' heads.

    @kingconno You would normally need an asio soundcard so that the latency is low and the sounds trigger on time.

  • @SebGee
    @SebGee  14 років тому

    it does have a USB out. You can download some programs to create your own sounds for the kit. Maybe you have a previous version of the DM6.

    What do you think of the feel / tension / rebound / impact of the rubber heads? Are they a hand-killer or do they actually respond ok? does this kit trigger drum software via midi, and if so have you tried it and what are your thoughts?

  • @Kroder
    @Kroder 11 років тому

    To reply to your FAQ. Yes you can expand this set. Alesis has a snake you can buy for this kit ($40) with 2 additional inputs for an extra cymbal and another drum pad.

    @Jordadahhh14 You know, I am glad I listened to you. I tried this firmware update a few weeks back with no luck. The instructions are a little funky. I came home and tried again today, and guess what...the download took this time. It was about 3-4 minutes to update, whereas before, there did not appear to be any such update. Anyway, thanks again, kid! And you're right. The blasted bug appears fixed and the sound IS more realistic as you say!

  • @Carnstein

    @afrothunderdrumer You can't. It uses a cable snake instead of individual cables and the there are no extra jacks to attach more triggers or pads on the module. The only way you could expand on it would to buy a different module and use the pads with that.

  • @SebGee
