You get what you pay for. Those brush cutters have been around a long time. And can do an amazing job. You always want to run them at the max high flow for that unit. That way it runs the most efficient. The more power the blades have, the easier they cut. The less strain on the unit

Hi, Max! Hi Mingo! Missed you both this video. What handsome fellas you are! Watching you run your newly-purchased brush mower took me back 40+ years to when I ran a kubota for my father. Usually I just ran it with a regular mower, but depending on the job, I also mowed with a bush hog (which is the experience your brush cutter took me back to). I don't remember ever trying to mow down any trees with it, but it seemed to handle all the underbrush I ever took it through just fine. (I didn't know bush hogs were so much more affordable than brush mowers until the end of your video, but I might have guessed.) I think it's great that you can go to an auction, buy a piece of equipment, do the work you set out to do with it, and make whatever repairs you need to make as it becomes necessary. (Occasionally I made repairs on mowers, but I think they were only of the most basic kind.) I had no inkling that the situation with that dislodged dead tree was as dangerous as it was until you were about to take it out of the way. But I noticed you took care of it right away (i.e., as soon as you saw it was a safety issue). I feel like the older I've gotten, the more aware I've become of the need to prioritize safety. It's great when young people already make it a priority!

Again, I have enjoyed watching your progress. I have a suggestion for you about tree trimming as I watched you helping your friend using your lift truck. When cutting branches from the main trunk of the tree cut that ranch even with the trunk. Two reasons: 1) the cut will heal and grow over faster, 2) no branches will grow from that cut making work two years later less. Never leave a stub branch, it will grow new branches.

I think for $800 its a good base unit for improvements and beefing up where needed. Also I think you hit the nail on the head. Running on standard flow and cutting Brush and overgrown fields is what that is designed for. If it was made to cut trees it would be called a tree cutter not a brush cutter lol.

Looks like it will cut anything that the topper behind your tractor will go through, and a bit more even? Then you are getting towards a mulcher, which some of them chop pretty big stuff up. I saw a video of a big one on a bulldozer, it was eating decent sized trees up.

We are the first manufacturer of this mower in China since 2008. This thing was never designed for heavy duty use, usually our setup is with an Eaton 2k-130 motor, 1:1.71 gearbox and blade. This item can last long when used properly, people should know this is not for heavy duty considering the price.
As for the blade, it should have been using same blade from the tractor mower, which is made of hardened wear-resisting steel. Guess this manufacturer changed the blade design.
When looking to buy one of this, pay more attention to the MOTOR/GEARBOX/COUPLING/BLADE/WEIGHT.
Coupling matters, some use nylon, some use chain couplings.
Weight really mattes as it decides the rigidity and service life.
One of the drawbacks of buying from auctions is manufacturer tends to cost down to be more competitive.
(Hoses of this mower in this video were not wrapped)

The best part of buying a piece of junk is when it doesn't break on you. When it does, the next best part is making sure it won't do that again.

Yeap, those things are either great or junk but they are 100% about how you use them.
99% of them are for brush and grass AND THAT'S IT. Anything bigger is a different
    peice of equipment altogether.
