And Cyclone Gafilo was the most instense storm in the southwest Indian basin that year. More Instense than any storms in 2004. Edit: 2/25/2023 also the 2004 North Indian Cyclone was the first season being named by the NIO.
Rananim, Aere, Songda, Tokage and Mufia were retired in the WSBPTS (What-Should-Be-Pacific-Typhoon-Season) World due to the deaths and damage caused by those storms. Rananim, Aere, Tokage, and Mufia were replaced with Rai, Locust, Haruka, and Minchi. However in the real world, Rananim along with Sudal and Tingting were retired. Sudal and Tingting in the WSBWPTS World will remain on the list for now. Choose replacement Name for Songda by replying and the replacement names must be associated with Vietnam. Foithong, Maewa, Mokran, and Nudgae will be replacing Prapiroon, Chebi, Toraji, and Nari respectively. Don't say things like: "This didn't happen" "This list is wrong" over and over again or you'll be banned. This even includes improper grammar, spamming the same comment even if I repost this comment.
Deaths or monetary damage don’t really matter when considering retirement, what really matters is something like damage relative to GDP and how bad the damage was. Which is why something like Kenna got retired with $101 million and 4 deaths
I’d have to disagree. After 2017, Kai-Tak and Tembin were retired mainly for the vast numbers of deaths they caused (though it is questionable why they didn’t retire Damrey). Sudal, as i previously mentioned, caused 0. While it did do a TON of damage compared to the GDP, it just doesn’t fit the high retirement standards the nwPac has.
The name Cosme wasn't used in this basin during 2004 (it was used in the Eastern Pacific in 2001 and 2007) ...unless you're talking about the typhoon named by the PAGASA, which I'm guessing you are.
