Shannon taking a well deserved break: ❎
Shannon making yet another vid: ✅
The man is addicted to hockey. Not complaining!
I like to imagine that making videos that aren't Reviews, Previews, News, or Power Rankings, is his way of taking a break
@@CheetahLynx hahaha you’re right
Weegar literally just read social media comments about how bad Fl's defense was and just said "Fuck it, don't draft or trade anyone, I'll do it"
Mats Zuccarello was one of my favorite players when he was on the Rangers...happy he is doing better this year.
Zuccccccc. Man I miss him so much
At 17:40 he finally realized Vegas wasn't on the board
I was looking for too long before I realized it wasn't on there
@@T-Dogg20 same I looked through it like 4 times, then i counted all the teams and realized I wasn't crazy 🤣
@@danevertt3210 yes 🤣🤣🤣 honestly that look of wow on his face made my day
As a sharks fan I'm sad eternally, but as someone that always loved Donksoi's dirty dangles I'm glad you gave him the clout.
Donskoi and Sorenson were my favorite 3rd line wingers pair
Loui Eriksson has really impressed me when he’s played this season. A complete bargain
I would say that he'll get the Hart trophy. Obviously he's better and more important than McDavid.
He said there was no wrong answers then there’s yours
loui eriksson for the vezina?
lmao
Next: 31 Players who have not impressed me
NOT Loui Eriksson
Taylor hall if he was still on the sabres
Taylor Hall
Edmonton: Kassian or Turris
haven’t even watched the video but i already know it’s 🔥🔥🔥
Spoiler it's 🔥
Love the vid. The fact that Weegar was a 7th round pick is not talked about enough
Agreed
Yea I was gonna say he left that out.
Kinda like Connor Brown in the 6th round.
He’s been an absolute angel on my fantasy team. 4 points tonight.
Big Z also looks like he's genuinely having fun in Washington and has great chemistry with Jenson, whose having a nice bounce back season for himself.
Kinda reminds me of Brady going to Tampa hahaha
Jensen is looking like prime mike green with chara by his side. Not to mention sheary, sprong, and vanecek who have all been money for the caps
Top tier content from THG, per usual. Hardest working man on UA-cam
18:24 VGK has entered the chat....
Before Krueger firing: no one on sabres. After Kreuger firing: mittelstadt, thompson, cozens, ruosolinen, samualson, etc all impressing.
Ruosolinen
@@hannuainsalo6825 At this point im afraid to ask if he meant Ristolainen or Ruotsalainen
Did you know Adam Oates was undrafted, and ending up in the HOF, just goes to show
Yep yep..
It's a shame his career didn't last longer.
Gretzky wasn't aswell. Neither was howe, but he also joined the league 20 years before the first draft was held.
Adam Oates....RPI alumni
Adam Oates. One of the best play makers ever. He was a assist beast.
Brandon Hagel for Chicago has been a revelation. I love Lankinen, and he's been our star. Team is starting to look like we thought they would but he's been such a pleasant surprise. Such a hard worker night in and night out. 2 way game is that of a veteran
Hagel doesn't get enough credit. That dude is a work horse and has quickly become one of my favorite players.
Knew I wouldn't have to look too hard to find this comment. Hagel is one of our most reliable players.
Buffalo Sabres draft pick Brandon Hagel
As a Flames fan I would have to say Mangiapane, he's been a beauty. I got back in to watching hockey at the end of the 17-18 season when Vegas joined (Calgary was always my team though), and watching him and Dube develop has been sweet
Love these videos, it gives us info on each team with one video and I love it. Keep up the great work Shannon!
Joonas has been a beast this year. Especially during that 7 and a half minute Hat Trick.
As a Tampa fan Cernak has impressed me the most. He has taken a huge step up from last season and is just an absolute monster on the ice. Probably gets a little overlooked having all the more flashy players around him.
For me it’s Colton. His play has been amazing and he’s only a rookie.
@@JohnMcLoughlin06 He would be a decent pick, but I would like to see how things play out over a longer stretch of time with him. He has been really good depth for us though.
@ToasterGaming Yeah. Depth has always been one of our strong points. It’s nice to see that when we lose guys like Paquette we can still have good options for that position and others.
Cernak is criminally underrated. He’s been fantastic defensively for years, and now he has stepped up his offensive game too.
Nick Paul is a very underrated player. I hope we protect him instead of Dadnov. No way the kraken is taking him on that contract
Watching this when Martin Jones has let in 3 goals on 8 shots and is below 0.900 and making 5.7m. I just can’t believe
Martin Jones pulled again after 3 goals on 7 shots that's unfortunately the Martin Jones of the past 2 seasons.
On Patrick Marleau night 😩
I laughed out loud when i saw he was on this guys impressed list.. Sometimes this guy comes at you out of leftfield with his not so hot takes..
Yes except when he's playing my LA KINGS...then the man is an unstoppable beast. Lol.
@@Ironclad6661 Yes that's true! To bad he can't play against the Kings for a whole season😆
Robertson has been a real treat for me to watch in what’s a pretty disappointing season. He’s been a great pairing with Pavelski this season. I’m very excited to see where he goes from here, because he’s looking like real star (no pun intended) on the ice.
Love the channel and content, thank you! Also watching as Martin Jones lets in 3 on 6 shots, lol... RIP my Sharks.
I noticed you also had Casey Mittelstadt on your feel good stories list as well. He is definately the stand out candidate as a feel good story on the Sabres, but I feel that there are a couple of other candidates along with Mittelstadt for this list. Linus Ullmark has become a worthy NHL starter and has kept Buffalo in some games despite the defence in front of him being rather pourous. Since Jack Eichel was placed on IR Sam Reinhart has not only taken on the first line centre role and the on ice leader of the team, he has proved he can produce withot having Eichel as a linemate.. Potentially losing Eichel in a trade has become slightly more bearable by Reinhart's production this season.
Eichel out!..... Rhino should be the cornerstone of the Sabres franchise. Solid talent.
Forbort has caught my eye for the Jets as well. Their defensive training coaching staff has done wonders to keep the defense from imploding after so many players exiting.
Right on about Miller. Stays within himself. Got poise. He’s a good one.
Rudolfs Balcers is my vote as a Sharks fan
Sam Reinhart gets my vote for Buffalo. He's been great despite not having Eichel to play with. He's up to 20 goals on a team that doesn't score a lot, and he's been playing center under Granato, and I think he's definitely earned a new contract. I hope Buffalo gives him a long-term deal and he stays at center going forward. And didn't you put Mitts on the other 31 player list?
I was never much of an Islanders fan... and then they went and got Pageau... can't help it now. I love the guy.
Loved the gourde and glendening parts
Anaheim - Comtois
Arizona - Garland
Boston - Swayman
Buffalo - Ullmark
Calgary - Lindholm
Carolina - Trocheck
Chicago - Lankinen
Colorado - Burakovsky
Columbus - Roslovic
Dallas - Hintz
Detroit - Hronek
Edmonton - Barrie
Florida - Verhaeghe
LA - Doughty
Minnesota - Talbot
Montreal - Anderson
Nashville - Saros
New Jersey - Smith
New York I - Varlamov
New York R - Miller
Ottawa - Batherson
Philadelphia - Provorov
Pittsburgh - Letang
San Jose - Jones
St Louis - Perron
Tampa - Cirelli
Toronto - Galchenyuk
Vancouver - Demko
Vegas - Stephenson
Washington - Sheary
Winnipeg - Pionk
Great video! A lot of players I like on here even before this season. I have to say though, Brandon Hagel is verrry underrated, even when he isnt scoring he is usually the hardest working player and one of the best players on the team this year behind Kane, Lankinen, and DeBrincat three of which carry the team most nights.
the same day you uploaded this, weegar gets a three point night. I absolutely agree with you, weegs really stepped up this year. First time in a long time being this happy watching the cats play
I think Shannon works more than Bear and Shadow sleep.
I learned a lot of stuff from you a lot of my hockey knowledge came from you
Jones being impressive is a sign of just how awful the Sharks are.
Martin Jones has had a better season this year than the last 2 regular seasons.
Martin Jones this season: 89.6 Save Percentage
Martin Jones last: 89.6 Save Percentage
Martin Jones 2 Seasons ago: 89.6 Save Percentage
Checks out.
No repeats from the feel good stories, except for Jordan Staal because he's just been that good this year. :-D
"The alphabet is not a thing on these videos now, because ... whatever." Well, count me convinced!
Random assortment of teams: something I've wanted you to try for years. Happy you finally are!
Luke Glendening has always been a better player than people make him out to be. He's always had a lethal backhand and chips in goals here and there.
Ryan O'Reilley is the St. Louis Blues. When they gave up two quick ones against Colorado, you could see in his eyes he wasn't going to let them lose that game.
I think the fact that Brodie had that huge goalless drought and the Toronto media was still praising him speaks volumes about his play
@Malik Reinwald you were correct. I do not care
I’m always impressed by 97 and 29 as an oilers fan but the few that have really impressed me on the oilers this year is Tyson Barrie , Darnel Nurse , Josh Archibald , Jesse Puljujarvi and Mike Smith all these guys have stepped it up big
🔑 has been incredible this season. Real solid. Even when he makes a mistake he will commonly clean it up. And over the last couple weeks he's been hitting more.
Cody Ceci has been a VERY pleasant surprise, would love to lock him up for the next 2 seasons to see if it continues.
Oooo show off the 3d printer projects!!
Thanks again man!
Tyson Barrie, a threat at both ends of the ice...
I think Ceci is one of the better choices on the pens rosters for being surprisingly impressive. I know the take from a lot of people in pgh including me was "oh cool we got Jack Johnson again except younger". Obviously that was being a little hyperbolic but he's really been impressive, hasnt made many glaring errors on defense and is contributing on offense.
One thing I noticed about Donskoi earlier this year was, his skating wasn't quite as crisp as it was last year. Seemed to be a bit sluggish to get going from a standstill. Although, it seemed to get better as the season progressed but now the COVID thing got him. Might have been due to some injuries he had last year which were still affecting him.
Thumbs up for pulling the Adam Oates sweater out of the attic :)
I’ve been impressed with Jared McCann for the Penguins. He’s contributing offensively, getting power-play time, and he’s playing great defensively. Also, Marc Staal has been a lot better for Detroit in the last little while- always getting in their blocking shots & skating hard
As a vegas fan I've been impressed with the guys who have been playing on the bottom 6. Guy's like.Nosek carrier Roy. And the young defensemen like whitecloud and Hague
I’m just here for the snoozing cats...oh, and the hockey content is pretty good also.
Darnell nurse has some brutal advanced stats, the show he’s been lucky offensively and brutal defensively
At the time you make this video, I agree. I think Pageau was on fire at the recording of this vid. But he hasn’t scored in a long time! I’d say either Komarov, Barzal, Palmieri, or Beauvillier. Komarov may not be a scoring machine, but he plays all around good hockey and sniped that goal on Shesterkin. Barzal has been scoring much recently a lot, and is tied with Nelson for the most goals. Palmieri, again, kind of like Komarov. He plays all around good hockey and got a couple goals with the Isles. Beauvillier is really good too, he has the point streak and is really good. He plays all around good hockey and is scoring lots. So at the end of the season, I think it’s one of these guys.
I'm gonna take a guess for my team before I actually see it. I'm a Rangers fan. It's Fox. There's no way it couldn't be Fox
Edit: Yeah I could see that one as well, but being a Norris Trophy contender in you're second season is just incredible to me. We haven't had a defenseman as good as Fox since maybe Leetch. Miller looks good too and I'm impressed with the way he's played, but Fox is just nutty. More I think about it, the Rangers are in really good shape wow
Lotta good Wood on NJ. Blackwood, Wedgewood, Miles Wood....
As a Bruins fan, I have honestly been impressed with Swayman. The old saying of "Goaltenders are a different breed" hits a whole different level when the goalie says "I like shootouts. I like 1 on 1's". Obviously, there is something to be said about the D playing better in front of him because he's the young guy, but I'm looking forward to seeing him as the future in Boston. Between him and Vladar, there's your 1/2 in Boston for the foreseeable future.
Until about halfway through there, I was worried you had forgotten us down here in Sin City lol.
could you do a video of most underrated player from every team. Maybe one from the current teams and one historical.
Man you know your stuff. What do you think of Grizlyk’s performance in Boston. With Chara and Krug gone plus Miller and Carlo hurt most of the year he’s really had to play a key role.
Mangiapane needs more recognition for all the good he's done for us this year.
I did noticed that you missed Vegas from beginning.😂. I seen one team missing and did counting.😂
Even when Anderson isn't producing he is still effective because he just doesn't stop working
That Tage from. BUF- has some size and skills. Shows promise. Mittelstadt takes a big step up.
Shadow edit putting Vegas on the board haha
Love the cats:-)
Watching plenty of 1 player per team type of video. Thanks for shuffling them 😚
Jeremy Swayman in Boston has been incredible.
shannon is beating kieth yandles iron man record for youtube videos
Surprised Washington wasn’t vitek vanecek tbh
my sharks rnt out yet but at least my 2nd fav team fla is doing insane
Will there be a similar video for the other side of the coin?
Jones ? Martin Jones ??
Ferraro, Gregor, Balcers, SJ Sharkie, anyone but the sieve Jones. Ahhh I get it,your helping us out, for expansion. Your right now that I think about it he’s totally worth 5.7mil and he took the Sharks to the SCF and he’s totally into Nirvana....;)
i was fuming that san jose let Jonas Donskoi go, although i’m not sure he’d have reached this level of playing in san jose
Im sure Sharks miss Donskoi and Barclay G, big part of their drop off imo.
For the Wings I was almost expecting our Staal brother to show up because of the way Yzerman obtained him and the first two weeks of the season being littered with hot takes of him being, "the worst player on the team."
He's certainly impressed me and I think has brought an important veteran presence to our locker room and blue line - as well as a few blown plays and own goals, but I'm ok with that this year.
At the end of every period Martinez bumps fists with every player coming off the ice. He’s a great time player. He interviews great. You know he is a great asset off the ice for the VGK.
Shannon, for the Pens I thought you might go with Teddy Blueger, he gets better every game but Ceci is a great pick and you couldn't go wrong with McCann either.
Wings fan. It's hard to choose a single player. Nobody has scored much but there's a few players who have played really well defensively, the whole team has been defensively sound. You say Glendening, I say Gagner. Both playing a similar role, stopping the other team passing the puck mostly and doing a good job. I was sure you were gonna say Stecher or Staal actually. Analytics-wise, Jon Merrill has been our best player this season and it took a lot of games until I noticed how good of a player he is.
As they say sometimes no news is good news. And I would rather here about you talk about this than another COVID case shutting a team down.
It’s supposed me that Shannon has scored 59 goals this year in spite of not having a contract with any NHL team
Do we wanna talk about how Brian Dumoulin is one of the most underrated players in the NHL?
I sat and waited for Anaheim.... a very unusual feeling jumping around in my head. Tough team for sure. I thought more about Lunderstrom, Comtois and Terry then Stolarz, but I think I’m more surprised at how my expectations of players compared to how they are doing is more why I think this way. I’m in no way surprised by Stolarz, I’ve seen him as a very suitable backup for a bit now. I don’t think you could go wrong or right here, just throwing my 2 cents in the comment section.
Jake Oettinger has been impressive in Dallas as well.
Shannon, please give your thoughts. Maple leafs expose Reilly in the expansion. He’s a B.C. native so closer to home in Seattle. No guarantee that Seattle takes him, but let’s them protect Brodie, Muzzin, Holl, and hopefully keep Dermott, Sandin, and lils
Word has been all along that Dermott is likely headed to Seattle.
Eeli tolvaner, predators legend
I like these fun videos
Chychrun got another goal tonight vs. LA. So now leads all NHL defensemen in goals at 14.
Nice jersey
I did the same. Our picks matched with LAK, DAL, FLA, BUF, EDM, ARZ, NYI. I refused to pick a player off Columbus as no ones impressed there really but like your pick the best if i have to choose one.
Thank you, Sharkies for Donskoi. We love him over here.
Might lose him to expansion tho
@@brooksheckart6920 maybe but saads contract is ending so we could just protect donskoi which I believe is worth it as he brings a lot to the team and maybe if they take saad and he doesn’t resign we could pick him back up in free agency or find someone else
@itspapaghost I'd rather protect nachuskin and jost, cheaper and better defensively, especially will all the young start forwards we having coming up
@@brooksheckart6920 mmm idk I think donskoi has been pretty reliable all around and he’s our best 3rd liner. and if we don’t protect saad it’s likely he’ll get taken so there won’t be worry unless they don’t because they know there’s a chance he doesn’t sign with them
No way we protect saad he's a free agent and we don't have cap to sign him after landy and makars contract. Seattle won't take him cause they can get him as a free agent and also a pick from us. Only reason we don't protect doskoi is his contract is roughly 4 mil where nuke and jost are 1mil and like 2 mil. All about the cap space man
T.J Brodie is a great pick.. I'd shout out an honorable mention for Jason Spezza who has looked like vintage Spezza
surprised you didn't do a Hotel California and say "you can check-out any time you want, but you can never leave" when talking about Chicago @22:25
Both Gourde and Staal on this list. Two best friends.
Shannon, please make a "should Bergevin be fired?" Video. It's the big debate in Montreal right now (along with if we should call up Caulfield or if it would be rushing him but that's not a good video probably lol)
I think Kevan Miller has been much more impressive than Zboril. He seriously improved his game over the last year while he was injured
i love the vid, but i gotta point out that first half of the vid, felt a little left out being from Vegas, and him not having Vegas on there, then all of a sudden the vid cuts and Vegas is on there. That being said Alec has impressed me as well but, i would go with Chandler Stephenson personally. they guys is always making break away plays for the team. blasting in the zone fighting for the puck.
I'm shocked.
A brilliant move by Lou Lamoriello.
Shocked I tell you.
:-)
