Evolving Skies is still my favorite Sword and Shield set by a mile! Definitely think it will be a set we look back on in 10 years on and wish we kept more sealed products of it.

I think the prices of modern sealed wont have as significant of a climb as more people are keeping sealed now more than ever
The best performing collectibles long term are items which didn't have market sentiment as a collectible, but rather as something intended to be opened, thus making sealed product rare. Anecdotally, you were likely asked to keep the tags on your beanie babies - which are worth less than $5/each now, but slashed the seal right off your original copy of Halo Combat Evolved - which is worth over $1k now.
Pokemon Co won't publish official print numbers, although have stated that they will print to meet demand. I think it is safe to assume these later sets in SWSH have had much larger print runs than any previous set - likely driven by "investors". These sealed products won't be rare or difficult to find in the future as the second hand market will always have someone needing to liquidate.
That said, I think Jake is right in that the Pokemon Center Direct ETB's will be worth *something*, as Pokemon Co will incinerate non-sold product, thus creating some exclusivity and rarity on these first-run direct products.
@@benr2952 I agree, The pokemon center ETB’s do not get reprinted too meaning once they are sold out they are gone (Lucky me picked up an evolving skies pokemon center one for 50 pounds)
Time proof you wrong
I was really excited to open mine. I got 2, keep one sealed and crack the other one. The one I opened only had 1 holo pull. Not even a V. Super disasppointed but I guess it boils down to RNG. I cracked 2 booster boxes, got some ok pulls no chase cards though. Think im done buying product for this set and will only be buying singles...can get frustrating but at the end of the day I do it for my love of the hobby and Pokemon not for any value metric.
Hate it when the one you open has nothing, just makes you twice as anxious to open the other 😅

I similar thing happened to me. I think ima just stick with buying singles cuz my luck is so poor
literally did the same thing lol, bought 2 , cracked 1, I got pretty lucky though...I pulled the charizard v star from the PC ETB, and the Arceus v star from the booster box. Cool hits, not the most expensive chase cards but I wanted them both so happy about that.
It’s very true how volatile the pulls can be. I opened up a regular Etb and only pulled a Honchkrow V, no trainer galleries even! Great vid Jake, I also am keeping a PC Etb sealed!
You can get ETBs from any modern set at below msrp (28-32$). You can only get Pokémon center ETBs at 50. So even when regular ETBs don’t appreciate as quickly, they cost much less and are more accessible for collectors(and scalpers).

Agreed. Opened 4 of these PC ETBs and made nowhere near my investment. So far it seems that the booster boxes are the way to go if you want consistent hits. Good luck to everyone cause mine has been no good with this set. Keep up the content man.

Keep it sealed! Just opened a Brilliant Stars ETB from Pokemon Center last night. I got a Whimsicott V and then 9 white codes after that! I got destroyed. Keeping the rest sealed!

I opened a regular etb and got a holo boss's orders and aggron v.
My brother opened an etb+ 4 packs from the store and got 4 trainer gallery cards, one v, one vmax, and 2 holos. 8 hits in 12 packs, while I got 2 in 10. It was rough.
These special etb's are also available in the UK now.
I bought one and have it in my sealed collection with my hidden fates ETB, celebrations pokemon center ETB, evolving skies booster box, and more. I'm really glad i got back into the hobby!

There is a pokemon centre uk now, I bought the past four sets pokemon centre exclusives from there they aren't just available in America and Canada anymore 😀

A Pokemon Centre has opened up recently in the UK just fyi so will be more supply going forward than the past few sets, I do agree best not to open and think will still outperform regular for sure.

I only keep the PC trainer boxes sealed as there are no where near as many made as the regular versions. For chasing cards I go for booster boxes its been more consistent then any other product.
I got 2 of these Pokemon Center ETB’s, one to open and one to keep sealed. Was pretty happy with my pulls from the one box… got Charizard VSTAR, full art Raichu, 2 character rares, and a regular V.
I bought one of these and only got one trainer gallery card which was nice, but the two booster boxes I bought I was able to get alt art Charizard V, Rainbow Arceus Vstar, and about 10 Trainer Galleries and a couple gold cards including Ultra Ball and Articuno! I'm absolutely loving this set
Opened up 1 normal etb and pulle luminion v 3 other v cards. BOTH urshifu gold, full art cynthia and rainbow cherens care
Unfortunately mine came with two rips from the Pokemon Centre. Still gonna keep it sealed though. These are also available on the UK pokemon centre now. 🙌🏼

I've got the fusion strike, brilliant stars, chilling reign and celebrations pokemon center etbs (not opening them) and really the real reason i prefer them is because they're only like 10$ more to look super pretty in my collection. Especially having the regular and pc fusion strike etbs together look so damn good
I have 4 of these, I purchased the maximum at preorder because I also had a 20% discount from a previous order being damaged. I am probably going to keep them all sealed as a long term collector. Absolutely love the artwork and colors on this version
We’ve FINALLY got a dedicated Pokémon Centre website in the UK so managed to pick one of these up for retail. SUPER stoked for it to be delivered. Have a couple of the regular ones to open but NO CHANCE is the PC exclusive ETB being opened any time soon. As always, love the content!

Hello Jake, can i ask you a favour? can you give us your thougths about is it worth comleting sets and keeping them in a folder instead of keeping sealed products? finishing sets is my favourite thing to do, but not when etbs are no hit, sets are too long, booster boxes worth more than a whole master set in some cases. if you could make a video about it would absolutely love to hear your thoughts.

Had to refresh like 100 times but I got my Pokemon center ETB. And picked up a booster box. Holding long term, after I picked up 2 booster packs and pulled a Shaymin V and a Arceus VStar Gold.
I’ve gotten a good etb and bb so decided to just buy the rest of the singles. Etb I got FA Pikachu, raichu v, acerolas premonition, flygon v and jolteon tg (2 holos as well) BB I got FA zard, zard v, FA arceus, Rainbow arceus, Cynthia’s ambition FA, Luminion v, raikou v, morpeko v, Whimsicott v TG: boltund V, ariados, dusknoir, houndoom (as well as 6 holos)
I just pulled the Rainbow Charizard yesterday and I am debating whether or not to get it graded. The only negative I can see is jt is ever so slightly off center left to right but just barely

I had a bad experience with my 2 exclusive etb, the color tints are extremely heavy on the pack and cards and plus the cards inside are damage and cut awful. Maybe I just got 2 defective etb
PC ETBs are fun to collect because not only do they contain more packs+extra accessories, they also have a diff aesthetic that looks great on the shelf. I have a shelf collection of Chilling Reign, Fusion Strike, Evolving Skies, and now Brilliant Stars and they all look amazing together. Also I got lucky and PC sent me a case of 4 instead of the 3 I ordered for Brilliant Stars. Seems like someone there made a logistical mistake because lots of people have reported receiving more than what they ordered.

Ive opend a total 34 packs with the pc etb being a part… idk pull rates but its been crazy 11 v/vmax , 7gallery, 4 holos 2 rainbows and gold arceus and pikachu v full art .. no zards but ok with me love the full art best

Been pulling fire from the sealed hanger packs. ETB’s have been a bust for me so far. Best pulls I got were from the Lance’s Charizard Celebrations set, got Gold Mew, Venesaur, Gold Star Umbreon, Rocket’s Zapdos, Birthday Pikachu and from the Darkness Ablaze pack I pulled Charizard VMAX.
Singles I feel could be the way to go. I opened up 7 packs in a row on release, only got a single holo rare professor's research. The next week I opened up 6 packs again and got all hits, with the final pack having a Mortimer's Dusknoir and Alternate Art Honchkrow V in the same pack!
I wish we had more Pokemon Centers in Europe... So sadly I won't get my greedy hands on this pretty box. But I enjoyed watching you open it up, Jake! Thank you for the insight. And even though you recommended to leave it sealed you got some nice pulls! Keep up the great vids :)

I got 2 and I opened one, but i got gold ultraball, full art octillery, a full art trainer, and kingler v. plus rev-holo torterra and manaphy so it was super worth it! I got almost half my chase cards in one ETB. Ill keep the other sealed.
Been having terrible luck with ETBs lately, opened up a brilliant stars and I got one V Granbull and a Dusknoir TG card, in the same pack, disappointing 1 out of 8 packs had hits
I couldn't resist opening the one I ordered and luckily got the Sylveon Vmax trainer gallery card from it. I don't think I'll order another to keep sealed because I will probably just end up opening it one night when I get too bored lol
I have had horrrrrible pull rates from the ETB for Brilliant Stars in comparison to booster-box or sleeves. So Im definite fine leaving my other sealed.
I need to play PTCGO more because I have all these cards I can build decks with. Also I didn't realize this one had a deck box so when I opened it my first reaction was "wtf!? Whats this!?"
I opened a celebrations Pokémon center etb, and I would feel regretful, but I actually pulled the charizard, shining magikarp, and xerneas ex, as well as many other things, so I actually made a really good profit.
The thing is, special sets like celebrations or shining fates do have high pull rates unlike regular sets like brilliant stars, evolving skies, etc

I've got an unopened pikachu v union box as part of my collection. It was packaged so the contents are upside down in the box, is that going to effect the value of it long term?

I only pulled 1 trainer gallery card, the rest was all bulk. Also started a post on Reddit with 5 people reporting the same luck.

I’ve opened at least 10 packs so far and still waiting on my first Trainer Gallery pull 😭 but I got a Charizard VStar out of one of the 3 packs I found at Target yesterday! I also placed some online orders for single and 3 pack blisters that I’m waiting on
I had to open one of my two because it came in ripped. Only "good" pull was a full art Barry.
Mine had only white codes but I got a rainbow Shaymin VStar, Arceus VStar, and several other solid hits.

So I can’t tell if the pull rates are just good in general, or if I got really REALLY lucky. I opened 234 packs from various products, mostly from booster boxes and 3 packs. I got two rainbow Charizard v star, one alt art Charizard, and like six gold urshifus, amongst other things like alts, v’s, etc.
I bought 2 cases so 8 total ETBs. Keeping sealed. This set will be really hot down the line.
Mine just showed up today. Waiting on celebration mini tins today too! Hopefully I get Kanto/johto, keeping them sealed!

I may be the only one that had the worse experience with the Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box for Brilliant Stars. I literally got one V card which was Kingler and every other pack was a disappointment.
My pcetb was ok, only 1 hit Gold Arceus, but the regular etb it was horrible only 1 v from 16 packs, i cried for happiness and sadness
I've got 4 of these and 4 of the Celebrations ones i'm going to keep on ice for now.
Soooo, If I have 3 pokemon center crown zenith etbs I should keep them closed 🤔
