Thank you for replying. I did that, but after a few days the surface under the region where you bow on the strings was not as smooth as rest of the surface. Though, I will keep doing as you say. I'll give you a feedback in one of your upcoming premeired live videos if my concern remains.
Thank you for that lesson!! Fun thing, but maybe usefull for beginners: I started searching for notes by playing the violin fingerstyle like an ukulele. Later on I wondered why the bow is not able to get a sound out, after rubbing multiple times rosin on. I realized, there was fingergrease on the strings, they where lubricated😂 Cleaning the strings with a microfibre cloth helped😊
Hello Alison. I have a question. I sm concerned about keeping the surface of my violin neat after having played it. Please tell how I can get rid of the dust and rosin that has settled on the surface and under the strings in order to keep the surface fresh
Hello Allison i was meaning to ask you why do professionals hold the bow at an angle I really don’t understand if you could please tell I would appreciate it
Can you please send me some violin Bose to try out because my carbon fiber bow I don't know if it's doing it for me and I've been trying and trying trying out all types of violin bows
Hmm...difficult one as I would want to say a full size, but since you are more on the petite size, I would say that a 7/8 violin would almost certainly suit you better. The Fiddlerman does a good 7/8 violin - I would contact him (mention me and he will make sure you get tip-top service😉) and ask him as Im not 100% on the measurements of a 7/8 violin myself.
@@TheOnlineViolinTutor Thank you. I ordered full size as I am on a budget and it's all that was available. Hopefully I shall become confident enough to upgrade in the future.
live chat and what not. How about. prices, makes, violins for the very beginners? loaded question. skip..next question... string transitioning? bah. next question. How you doin'?
What beautiful eyes!! I always liked to learn violin, maybe I'm gonna try it, thank you.

Good evening teacher
Karyn - in answer to you question about March, you can slow the youtube video down a little to help you.
Tried that look and it sounded distorted. I guess I will keep at it. Also do you know of any syncopation exercises or song that I use for practice?
Thank you for your response.
i love all of your videos but i need one about how you keep your nails so perfect!!!😁
I do them myself every 2 weeks to keep the short.
Mohammad Ahmed Irfan - just use a clean cloth to wipe away the rosin.

It’s all about the string crossings. From open e to d is especially muddy sounding. Is there a clever technique or exercise that will help?
I cover this in lesson 5, but basically you stop the bow, then move, then carry on.
Please advise what kind of violin I need to purchase since I am a beginner. Thank you so much for the 30 lessons. They are very helpful.
bit.ly/2TCgWk1 Any of these. There are plenty to choose from depending on price and preference.
Amazing.

Good video, but the d string on my violin is pretty loose. Should I be worried?

I'm confused as to what size I need? I'm a small female. 5ft tall with small hands.
