I miss that little tone that used to always play on the Capcom logo in the 16 bit days. I sometimes find myself humming the tone when I see the Capcom logo appear before a game.
This looks like a better arcade conversion than Final Fight. I guess Capcom became more familiar with the snes hardware to give a near arcade perfect Conversion.
I don't understand why much of the parallax was taken out of this version when the SNES can do parallax with ease, and certainly as many as two layers at once time, which is all the arcade ever seems to use. But many of the backgrounds here a just a single layer. :-o Don't get me wrong though, this is still one of the very best hack 'n' slash games on the system (and I'm including the scrolling beat 'em ups too).
@@inceptional You seem to be avoiding what I'm actually asking you, why did you rag on thunderforce 4 for having a black hud, but wont for snes games such as super metroid or hagane?
I found this years ago, cart only for $14.99. Glad I got it then, because the price has definitely artificially inflated on it (like Knights of the Round and Captain Commando, thank goodness for Capcom Classics Collection 2 on the PS2 for having the arcade versions of all 3 games, including this one) the last few years.
This game is awesome! Took us a long time to be able to finish it with a friend on an emulator. I'm still looking for the cartridge for the SNES, it seems impossible but i'd love to play it on the original console.

Muitos jogos de SNES eram aportes de Arcades, nos arcades quando acabava as fichas você escrevia seu nome e entrava no ranking. Lembra quando acabava o jogo e você colocava 3 letrinhas? Era o ranking nos arcades.
I just picked this game up... I have to say, it is not a fun beat em up. Your character doesn’t do any combos.... it’s just mashing the same button and watching the same animation over and over.
Opinions are such strong things, doesn't mean they are right though. Different people, different opinions. I happen to like both SNES and Genesis as that leaves a huge library of games to play in the end.
Except the Genesis wasn't better. There's one main thing the Genesis did better, and that's the CPU speed (and it did help in quite a few games), which no one is going to argue with. And that's pretty much it. In basically every other meaningful way the SNES beat the Genesis--measurably and demonstrably--and I mean it when I say that, from the console and controller to the games library and sales and beyond. Outside of subjective preference and opinion, the SNES basically trounced the Genesis--FACT (which, if you push me on this, I will lay all the facts and figures and stats and so on down upon you and utterly bury your misguided assertion with them). And, yes, this game does indeed rock.
Other than the thief enemy that stole from you, everything is as it should be from the arcade. This port, whether you like it or not, is fantastic (and yes, I have a copy of this, and Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2, which the arcade version is on). You want to know heavily downgraded? Captain Commando on SNES, and The Punisher on Genesis, both just shells of their arcade versions.
old school capcom = best capcom
Agreed
Yeah, that street fighter 2010 is the oldest therefore best.
That means
Today's Capcom=💩

I would go further and say old school Capcom = the only Capcom. Which means that todays "Capcom" is fake.
This seems like a perfect arcade port, Capcom did a great job on this.
Whoever is playing this game, is a goddamn pro.
This is NOT an easy game!
Used to barley pull off some completions of the game in two player with my friend. Not sure I ever beat it solo lol.
I beat this game solo today \o/

The Snes was really a great console

I totally agree, Snes is a great console
I TOTALLY AGREE x4.
Absolutely, and this is coming from a Sega guy.

How did I never hear of this game. I was a huge game nerd during the nes and snes. And to be fair Playstation as well.
I noticed the music sounds very close to the arcade in this port.
I'll admit. For the longest time, with that font, I wasn't sure if the elf was called "Elf" or "Blp". I tended to go with the later.
this is a really good port im glad capcom waited to learn how to use the snes more efficiently before making it.
I used to play this all the time on an emulator during 2007 & 2008. So many memories of reliving the 90's.
Hooooooooo... jogo sensacional!
One of the best memories of my youth!
nice graphics and animations , really impressive...

Uh I’m guilty of doing that to many games of my youth as well
wow, a wyvern is actually not called a dragon for once :O...
Forgot about this game. Repetitive, but most beat’em ups were and that’s what made them great. This was one of the best of the time
I spent so many quarters trying to pass this game at the laundromat when I was little 🤦🏽♂️
Thats great, i never had this feeling because of my age.
The memories of playing this on Saturday mornings with my brother. Doing the cheat code in the dungeon area to get 99 lives. Haha.

6:13 looks like the ending boss from Golden axe 3
I started a dnd campaign based on this game i even threw in an ancient red dragon named gilldiss
Can we appreciate the fact Fighter is so broken that he never died once?

Yeah, the price on it has gone insane.
