Nepal's Aasif Sheikh shines with outstanding Spirit of Cricket Moment

- Nepal's wicket-keeper Aasif Sheikh performed one of the great Spirit of Cricket moments of all time as he refused to run-out Ireland's Andy McBrine in the Oman Cricket Quadrangular T20I Series.
The incident occurred off the second ball of the 19th over, as bowler Kamal Singh Airee bowled to batsman Mark Adair’s attempted hit not going too far. As the bowler rushed to collect the ball in his follow through, he accidentally tripped an onrushing non-striker Andy McBrine who then fell to the ground. Nepal's Wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh decided against taking the bails off being guided by his captain Sandeep Lamichhane (21).

Amazing stuff from Nepal. Beautiful country love from Pakistan 🇵🇰

Lovely to see.... fantastic sportsmanship!
This is ALL about a gentlemens game. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We'll see that Sportmanship when 1 run needed from 1 ball.
No one talking about how the batsman was already outside the crease before the ball was bowled

Ye hai sportman ship aur game of sprit, n ki non striker end pr batsman ko out n karana jb ki vo advantage lena chah raha ho jb boler k bol karne k pahle hi craze se bahar nikal kr jaldi run pura karana chah raha ho, us samay use out n karana apne team k khilaf hai aur akhand murkhata ki sreni me aayega

No. Running out non striker is also against the spirit. It may be within rules but in first place who's MCC? They are no God and we aren't supposed to follow their terribly worded, vague and unsound rules they make. Several of their rules are stupid. Had I been head of that committee, then I bet there wouldn't be any controversial moment because of rules.
@@sparshsharma5270 If the ball pitches leg side of the stump line, lbw is denied even if the ball tracker hits stumps. Do you think this rule also needs to be changed?
Trying to be a good guy a hero always end up being a nobody loser I'm his whole life
Aasif Sheikh has proved that cricket is a gentlemen’s game and upheld the spirit of it. Kudos to him👏👏👏

@@kyahogabhai7503 Why? She did the right thing.
@@CakeorDeath420 then this was right too i mean what aisf was doingto do but he didn't 🙏,There is something named game spirit 🙌
@@kyahogabhai7503 What are you talking about?? The non-striker run out and this here are two separate things... If you aren't able to see that, you shouldn't be watching cricket. Running out the non striker is clearly a response to the non striker violating the rules and it is fair.
Here, the runner actually fell and the WK didn't run him out as the bowler sort of impeded his running. No rules were violated. This is fine. I'm ok with players showing this spirit. But I also in favour of the bowler running out the non striker who wanders out to gain an advantage knowing they are breaking the rules. It is that simple.
The whole term "gentleman's game" is grossly overused and inappropriate. The term "gentleman" is out dated and was used to identify a person of a certain social standard (in short it was discriminatory just because how he spoke or what he wore). Plenty of such "gentlemen" existed during the british occupation of India. How did that work out for us, eh??
Ladies & gentlemen asif shaikh is the icc sprit of the cricket for 2022
