Fantastic vocal interpretation! I am not usually impressed by most singers when they attempt to tackle Layne's music. You hit the soulfulness without trying to be Layne or Jerry. You make the vocal track your own and you have the ability to do it well! I was lucky enough to see AIC with Layne in the early 90s. To this day they are one of my all time favorites and part of my daily music rotation.
I listen to Alice in Chains since i was 14, 20 years later still one my favorite grunge bands, I had the luck to find this video over the internet, thanks for sharing this amazing video, a respectful hug from Brazil and please. do more videos to us :D

In drop D tuning the thumb over the E, A and D strings was the only way I could comfortably bar the b and top e strings with my pinky for the Em7 chord. A little unorthodox but whatever works! Thanks, Gaby! It's a ''palm muting'' technique I use with my right hand. Just lightly dampen the strings with the side of your palm. I also try to see the guitar as a percussive instrument and like to try different rhythms. Cheers, River.
I love AiC and couldn't stop playing Jar of Flies when it was released. AiC was great for all that dissonance and harmony. Lane's vocals against Jerry's and those amazing guitar lines. Not sure how you pull off the nuanced brilliance of the original track as a solo artist....but we just heard it. Unreal.
