- In this video I replace the axle shaft ujoint on a 05 Dodge Ram
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.
“Repent, then, and turn to god, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the lord,” (Acts 3:19)
It was like I was watching myself work, except when it goes like that for me I end up throwing a few tools. You are a patient guy Jason, enjoyed this one. Thank you.
I’ve tossed a few things in the past. I actually lost a tool I threw and spent about an hour looking for it. I think It was in some other dimension for a while. Like when you look over and over and find it in the same spot you looked at 7 times and it’s just sitting there plain as day. 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Thank you - it makes me feel better when I see a professional overcome some of the unexpected challenges that come up. And remember, trolls and critics belong under bridges.
I broke down and bought the ujoint pullers after this one. It’s not that it was too difficult to do with out them, it’s more an excuse to buy new tools. I’m interested to see how well they work.
That pants falling down comment was hilarious 👍
Jason, another excellent video. Thanks for posting and sharing.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.
Thanks for making these videos, I always pick up a trick or two. Maybe a jack stand or a round of firewood under that thing though........
I hear what your saying, I usually put a jack stand under if I’m getting under the vehicle. I didn’t anticipate being to weak to torque the bolts without getting under there as far as I did. Thank you for the support.
I too check the bolt torque before loosing. That way I’m sure to replace it as tight. We’ve been enduring a heat wave here 106-108 for the past week with no end in site glad I don’t have to replace a u-joint. Thanks for the video.
That’s too hot for me, Low 70’s is more my range. When it gets in the 80’s and 90’s I don’t do too much.
Great video! I think you covered all the details on how to change the axle u-joint. You even mentioned the torque specs. Unfortunately there are way too many critics in the world today.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I will say I have been criticized for being too thorough in the past. I’ve also been thanked for it. Can’t please everyone I guess.
I watched the whole video. Wouldn't miss one. Don't know what you're doing, but keep doing it.
Thank you, I appreciate that. If your willing to watch them I’ll keep making them.
Awesome stuff man!! Eff whoever is giving you crap! Block them and move on. So many more positive comments then negative. Don't let the losers get you down.
Thank you. I have only blocked 2 people in the past and they were just insulting. I pretty much leave up comments even if I don’t like them. I don’t usually get many negative comments but some people are just out there. Thank you for watching as far as you did.
@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic absolutely. Always from begining to end.
I had not thought about using one of the ball joint clamps for this I'll keep that in mind.
The smaller caps are great, they fit right through the hole in the press. This one was a bit more cumbersome with the bigger caps on it, and the yoke not being flat.
I don't mean to alarm you but it appears there's a shallow grave been dug behind you when you're working at the trailer. Just a heads up. If you dug it then we should never speak of it again.
😄 haha that’s a hole my son was digging. He likes to dig them but doesn’t like to fill them in. He was pulling out rocks and pretended to be a traveling salesman with a cart. He kept trying to sell me the rocks at ridiculous prices.
@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic so he was the matco guy? He was getting the franchise stuff down
comprend pas le mien sa fait une semaine que j essaie différent truc pour que le hub sorte il est gelé avec des bolt ,la masse ,rien a faire il veut pas je sais pu quoi faire
I’m not sure exactly what your asking. Here are a few removers to get the hubs out of the knuckle. If the bolts are frozen in you can try and cut the heads off with a torch or cut the wheel bearing where the bolts go in with a tourch. That’s what I would do. Might be able to use a grinder but be careful not to damage the knuckle.

same as a 2002 dodge 2500??
I think the 2002 had a Dana 60 in it. This has an aam front axle.

We did it today and the job seemed exactly the same. So that was good.
Watching people get on and then off the struggle bus is why videos like this are interesting. Nobody wants to see someone phone it in. It's boring.
Makes perfect sense. I’ll keep that in mind during my editing. I’m probably cutting out the wrong stuff.
