Michael deserves all good things! His face and good humor, along with his can-do attitude and his sharing of his talents makes us happy!! Why shouldn’t many want to make him happy in return? His fans probably know him better, in some ways, than his family. And isn’t this our Covid family? It feels like it! Enjoy!
At one point you wondered aloud why people are so kind to you and your intriguing assortment of cohorts. Stephanie, you are so kind to your viewers and I think most of us realize how blessed we are to get glimpses into your life. Your joie de vivre infuses each episode with delight. Thank you for your weekly gifts to we who can only live the chateau life through you.
Yes. I feel the same! I so very much look forward to your Vlogs, Stephanie. No matter how I am feeling when I begin to watch your vlog, I feel like I'm actually in on the adventure, and by the end I feel refreshed and happy. You are amazing and true.
As an American, we don’t usually describe someone as “charming”, but I’ll be darned if he isn’t .....and he’s just the cutest thing ... he always makes me smile 😊 I’d say he’s a keeper !!!

@@TheChateauDiaries I'm planning in my next life! In the mean while I will enjoy living through your blogs! Thank You! Congratulations! on your patrons.
Found your vlogs by way of Escape to the Chateau DIY (after watching every episode of Escape to the Country). I am in Heaven - everything in your vlogs is so entertaining and informative. I ❤️ history, antiques (so jealous of your brocantes - could spend hours and hours perusing all the wonderful items). Your life is what I’d dream mine to be, but I’ll be content living vicariously through you. Your family, friends, parties, animals (especially the hedgehogs and peacocks), food, food and more food, history lessons, etc. keep me entertained at night after settling down from my busy day. Lots more vlogs to catch up on, but it’s like a great big book that you hope will never end. I have visiting your chateau on my bucket list of things to do 💝🥰
Judging by his driving Ian and my dad must be long lost brothers! Honestly my family takes the exact route to every landmark we visit. Dad drove us around New Mexico for two days in the exact same fashion trying to reach a beautiful mountain we saw in the distance only to finally admit it was a mirage and give up! One of my favorite trips ever and your little fiasco reminded me.
Yes you have the best shops there! I hope to get there one day soon! Kids are grown and I’m a widow now , my schedule open, but have to save. I’m still looking for that red peacock toile like your bed pillows!
So glad to see dear Michael Petherick back looking handsome as ever. You have brocantes that have fantastic pieces of furniture and they are so reasonably priced. Thank you for sharing and take care.
✨Ahhh... France melts my heart! ...and the furniture prices are astonishingly good!! ✨Michael’s humbleness is his greatest charm. ✨Thank you for sharing your amazing lives.🌿☕️😘🥑🥩🥚
It’s lovely to be at home! And yes, it’s such fantastic news, I feel a wave of support which is giving me enormous strength - obviously financially, but more surprisingly, emotionally. Renovations are going to speed up around here!
This weeks vlog tickled all that I love. Purse shopping, antique hunting , getting lost, good friends, great food and opening presents! I am so happy to hear of your patronage getting so much support. All the best to all at the Chateau.
Nice to have Michael back. Welcome home. I would be in my element with all that furniture in your charity store. The prices are unbelievable for such quality pieces. Loved the Mona Lisa--so kitsch. Thanks for including us in your adventures today, Stephanie. Regards, Darryl
Oh, wonderful! I am so in love with the Lady and the Unicorn Tapestries, since childhood. Seeing them in Paris at Cluny years ago, having that entire museum to my own self, was a dream come true. And now the castle!? But we MUST get in! So close, and yet... I will be completely looking forward to your vlog(s) about them ! I cannot wait. Good to see Ian and Mr. Petherick again! You and Michael Pk. must be true soulmates. Sometimes I think that the people we become friends with, or enter into experiences in this life, we have known in previous lives. Not to sound crazy or anything. But it's a possibility I like to consider. Thank you so much for this and all your vlogs, and for sharing your life with us to the extent that we, as your subscribers, feel like we know you and your compatriots as dear friends. Even Alowycious. And certainly, the Hedgehog!
Thank you Stephanie for taking us on your fun adventure to that little town’s thrift store and Micheal’s gift opening. I can hardly wait to see where you put the marble topped piece that will hold a sink and your little tea table. I look forward to your videos each week. You have a talent for making daily life an adventure. I appreciate your sharing it with your viewers.
I want to thank you for what you do. For sharing with all of us the great life you live. It makes me happy to watch. I watched your video just now and laughed so hard, round and round to find the castle. Great job. I hope to come see you someday. You all are very special in my book. Watching your videos is helping me through a rough time in my life after the loss of my oldest son Matthew. Blessings.
I would love to go shopping at a brocante with all of you! Thank you for the wonderful emotional and mental escape from coronavirus and everything. You all are spectacular!
I have to watch every day. It's like catching up with beloved and much missed friends, of which the Chateau is the stately old aunt in the background, watching us all with a benevolent expression. Xxx
I found one of those marble top tables/wash tables with the marble surround. Mine is a little longer - about 1,7meters, but took the mirror off and it is the perfect drinks table for a summer kitchen. Great for ice buckets, cutting lemons, limes, herbs and the bottles. Would also work fantastically for kettle/tea/coffee machine. Easy to wipe down, better than wood.
I have seen this video and it was just as fun to watch as when it premiered ,you are both so appreciative and unassuming of all your given it is a joy to see you get such beautiful things.
Oh my the furniture🥰 Nova Scotia was founded in 1848 so we have nothing much in the line of beautiful heritage anything. Some things in museums and a few private collections that would cost a fortune if you could even find anything to buy.🥺 Well done Michael, you’re set for the winter, nice warm scarves , a dapper hat and yummy teas. Enjoy your visit, can’t wait to see what else you two get up to. 🥰🙋🏼
I love watching people open gifts - the anticipation is delicious :) Such a super video, Stephanie, chock full of all sorts of delights. I really appreciated seeing some of the brocante treasures and even driving around the gorgeous little town of Boussac trying to find the chateau entrance was such fun. The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries were in Australia a few years ago - each flown out in separate planes in case of a disaster - and I would have loved to pop over from NZ to see them but I was travelling in the northern hemisphere. I hope to see them one day, I have heard they are quite breathtaking. I'm so pleased the patreon page is flourishing - it is a pleasure to support all of your restoration efforts.
My favourite blog so far! You three are hilarious (and dangerous) together!!!!! Now I’ll be dreaming of brocantes and Fortnum and Masons teas!!!! Au revoir xx Philippa, Australia
Lovely to see Mr Petherick again! Also, sweet to see the array of animals waiting for you outside your door. See the peacock has a new hen bird - fingers crossed for little peacocks in the spring! I really cannot believe all the different amount of wonderful things that you find in your charity shops over there (as opposed to UK - eeek!) The prices are astoundingly low for such treasures - wow! Another super fun vlog!

cannot say how many times in winter in France my husband and I have done the Exact same thing trying to get to a CHATEAU is crazy funny! around and around and then it is closed! been there done this! so funny and glad to know even the experts do it!
Well now, that was a great vlog. So happy to see Michael back and opening those wonderful gifts. Lets hope we get to see him with the full tweed outfit. I also love that Earl Grey Tea. There is nothing better. My jaw was dropping to hear the low prices of furniture at the brocantes. You would never find them here in Canada for those prices even though antiques are not so popular now. I am so glad you all found it so amusing trying to find your way to the castle. So typical of google to ask you to try and cross a pedestrian bridge! ha ha ha. At least you had a wonderful adventure out for the day. I assume you have something up your sleeve for Valentines day.
Your vlogs make the days so much brighter, your laughter is infectious and companionship and commeradity makes me feel a part of your life. I love you all! I am so happy the precious chapel was not damaged.

Thank you so much Mandy and OH MY GOODNESS the most wonderful parcel of treats arrived from you today!!! I’ve had as much fun opening them as Michael had in this vlog! I love everything, and am especially excited about the hot water bottle - it’s my new favourite, thank you so much 💛💛💛
People who follow your Vlogs know so much about your family, friends, and volunteers that we feel you are friends. The gifts surely prove how much some viewers watch and know your tastes. I would like a small cottage to furnish with the local antiques. How wonderful the shopping is. Maybe you could turn some space into apartments for rent.
I live in Germany and have been to a Troc just across the border. They have amazing deals! I absolutely adore you taking us along on one of your shopping adventures!
My dear Stephanie, we do not know each other; I came across your channel just yesterday and I was immediately charmed by your enthusiast, your positivity, your lovely laugh and you bravery to take such a big risk on your shoulders (owning and managing an old castle). You are an example for me of how we need to take actions in the direction of our dreams. Sending you love and best wishes from Germany, Maria
Absolutely love your adventures especially this one. It is so great to see the appreciation and enthusiasm you all have for the the surprises both big and small . Always waiting for the next video, loving the Chateau, it's diaries and the those that give it life.
Stephanie, I would like to donate a one time amount. Perhaps to a chapel fund. I'm sure there are lots of us who would just like to send you a donation to be used at your discretion. I have no idea how to go about sending you a monetary gift. There need not be a reward for the donation. Knowing that whatever I can send will be of help would be most gratifying. I so look forward to your vlogs and all of your friends (Michael is a favorite!). Does FedEx deliver to your door or do we need to send our small gifts by the mail? (I live in the U.S.) I would love to see you decorate more of the bedrooms. You have such exquisite taste. Love and hugs!
Oh the shops! It is like walking back in time driving through the villages! I almost expect a horse and carriage to come around the corner! Love your kitchen and you are all spoiled . What a life enjoy!
I am enjoying your videos so much! I look forward to every one and you never fail to put a smile on my face! Thank you for sharing each one! 🙂👍🏼 watching from BC 🇨🇦 west coast. You both are very inspiring and positive! 🙂I have always loved chateaus and castles in France., and I love that you are open and provide some history and education on them. 🙂
Oh, thank you, Stephanie, for such a lovely vlog posting as usual. I just watched it and now am ready to climb into bed with a smile on my face. You have such fun, especially when Michael Petherick is visiting. Ian is a sweetie also and so talented. I can totally relate to driving around and around and never getting to the castle but having so much fun doing it! I am not at all surprised that you have so many Patrons already. I am sure there will be many more to come. So many people are looking for a bit of joy in their lives and you, dear Stephanie, are doing that for many. Thank you. Now I am looking forward to the next vlog entry of "Sundays at the Chateau". YAY!! Big hugs from Cathy in Calgary, Canada! xoxox
I LOVE shopping in used stores, and yours are so much better than in America! What happens here is when stuff comes to the stores on Monday, local antique dealers know. They are allowed to buy the antiques before we can see them. Thus we must pay more if we go to their stores. ☹️ Much of my antiques were from England, the 1960’s, when they thought it was junk! My home is very unique. The history is amazing. Do more shopping 🛍!
Haven't I seen Michael somewhere before, at another Chateau. He is a gifted man and could I borrow him please. I do enjoy all the programmes and seeing all the Chaeaux and the gifted folk who own them and refurbish them with taste - if only we could get to France again, I would love to visit a few of them. It has been an inspiration to me. I have a craft room (which was the old garden shed) to refurbish so constantly looking for ideas. You are all brilliant - carry on you are all doing a steerling job x
Thank you for another lovely vlog which brought such warmth and cheer on a cold and damp uk evening. We loved all your purchases but gosh do hope the bedspread came with shades!
Y'all trying to find the way to the castle reminds me of my traveling companion trying to find the mosque in Cordoba. It took three times! It was open when we got there. Then darkness fell when we were returning to Sevilla. I helped us find the way back to the hotel based on recognizing the name of the street with a tile or fan shop that I wanted to visit. No smartphones or GPS at that time. Never made it to the shop: must return!
Ha! les brocantes francaises. That would be one of the reasons which could convince me to move back to France. So envious! And these marble washbasins! I have looking for one on this side of the Atlantic for years and you found two in a day...
Michael deserves all good things! His face and good humor, along with his can-do attitude and his sharing of his talents makes us happy!! Why shouldn’t many want to make him happy in return? Well actually, it's kind of cute....😆

Big hugs from Cathy in Calgary, Canada! xoxox
Oh my two favorite people. Love you both lots. 💟☮️
Your videos are so enjoyable its like we sitting in the same room with you watching your journey an chatue life 🤝😀😀
Brenda does it again..what an amazingly thoughtful person.
Soooooooooo good to have Michael back again … spoilt or not … you are a joy … a lovely start to my day. thank you x (well done Brenda x)
Always great to go back and watch the brocantes videos!
Big shout out to Ian😄
Thank you for another lovely vlog which brought such warmth and cheer on a cold and damp uk evening. We loved all your purchases but gosh do hope the bedspread came with shades!
Found this channel from doing it ourselves. And now both channel is the color of my life during lockdown. Warm regards from Indonesia.
When I think that Michael lives just down the road from me !
