  • I hope this tip will improve your speed and efficiency when using a Harley Rake. I'm not sure if JD, Bobcat, or Kubota offer speed sensitive ride control, but it's available on the CAT 299D3 XE and setting it to it's lowest speed setting really improved my speed while using my power rake. Thanks for watching.

pro tip. you need to b able to do light grading with it FIRST. Use the bucket tilt function to shave areas and get it to grade First... Wasting time otherwise skimming a ungraded area. With a Seasoned operator are a Very Efficient finishing tool

I agree with your comment; this area wasn't intended to be a lawn, just a natural area. Just trying to demonstrate another option other than the float function.

I hope it is helpful. I discovered it by accident one day and thought to myself, this is the easiest way to do this and I have stuck with it. Thanks for watching. Please consider subscribing if you find the tutorials helpful.

the idea is to load the front wheels and let them control the durm pressure, the longer wheel base will bridge the bumps out better.turn all the other stuff off, let the bridge and fromt wheels do the work. why dont you run the rake while traveling in reverse ?

Thanks for your comments. I rake in reverse as well and run the rake with different settings depending on the application. Thanks for watching.

I need to read in the manual, but do you notice ride control not working well with heavy attachments? Our 299 with a disc mulcher on will bottom out on the stop blocks with ride control on and stays there. You pick it up and it goes back down, until you either slow down, or shut off ride control.

You definitely need to call your dealership. I think I have several videos demonstrating ride control. I will say the performance of mine has changed and I am going to have CAT look at it. When it was new the loader arms dropped about an inch when it engaged; now the arms drop 3-4" if it is loaded heavily.

No shit it slams the rake down, what do you expect to happen when you hit float while your loader is in the air? Your bucket or attachment need to be on the ground before you float it. My god stop destroying your equipment.

It's the largest rake CAT offers; I think the model is a BR195.
