  • This video goes over the Quick Attach or Erskine brand Harley rake (soil conditioner). I explain how to use it and what we use it for on a daily basis. It is attached to a John Deere 325G.

    I'm in the market for a harley rake currently and as I've not used one before, found this very helpful. Thanks a ton for taking the time to go through it in detail!

    I was wondering about high flow on the standard flow rake models. I'm buying the standard flow bobcat soil conditioner and the specs say 35GPM max on the standard model- which is where my high flow specs max out at on the machine so pretty sure I can also run high flow on mine.

      Yessir should be able to. Make sure to check with manufacturer first. Wouldn’t want to ruin something by giving false information.

    I really enjoyed your video. Starting to research different Harley rakes. What brand and model of Harley rake are you using in the video. I also have a JD 325G Thanks

    that's awesome! thanks for sharing. What about cross grids? like running in different directions each pass. would you find that making any difference? I just moved into a property and was interested to level better and take out high's and low's in the land thinking this would be a better efficient way refresh and start over again without getting carried away with a bucket.
    Also How does that handle tree routes and maybe the few rocks you come across while your running the rake?

      Yes we will criss cross if needed, it definitely helps to hit it at different angles. Small roots are no problem. Rocks are also no problem. We normally windrow most of them into a pile, that’s why having a rake with an angle cylinder is so nice.,

    I have a CAT 299 ex and i bought a Bobcat rake that I've had for over one year and it has a smaller harness with a 7 pin connector that I can't use. I need a 14 pin connector. Bobcat won't help me because I have a CAT and not a bobcat. $1600 later, here it sits. Any suggestions on putting this to work?

      Purchase a mating 14 pin connector from Cat. Bobcat should be able to provide the pin out descriptions/wire functions for the Bobcat rake 7 pin connector. Your Cat dealer should be able to provide the pin out descriptions/wire functions for the 14 pin Cat 299 connector. Match up the appropriate connections from the Bobcat rake wire harness to the Cat 299 mating connector that you purchased. Wire it up and be productive with your Cat 299/ Bobcat Rake combo.

    How do these do with rocky ground?

    • @MooneysExcavating
      @MooneysExcavating  3 місяці тому +2

      @@Robertlynschultz we have rock in the ground in Ohio. That being said, it will rip small stone out of the ground but isn’t meant for it. The nipples will ware down faster the more stone.

    Good video but you should be careful touching weeds that are sprayed with herbicide.
