Children are a blessing. It is understandable to believe the grandmother’s reaction was due to her personal reasons/experiences that led her to associate children with financial stress and limited resources (including the free time she lost in her own childhood.) She grew up in a scarcity mindset. It was all she knew. Not her fault. Very good of her apologize when she realized the pain her reaction had caused. Her grandbaby will likely see this video one day and it will be a lesson in forgiveness and compassion.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 True Christianity is believing in the One True God of Abraham, belief that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God the Messiah who atoned for mankind's original sin, to therefore repent to God for any sins you commit on this earth, and to try to live like Christ which above all is love others like Jesus loves us. You don't know what these people believe. Being cordial which is what happened is not an indication of being a Christian. Showing compassion isn't even an indication of being Christian. Is LOVING others how Christ loved us.

I understand his Moms reaction even though it was not okay. I was born into a family of 11. Our father was present up until I was 13 but he never financially helped in fact he was the cause of all our fear and hurt because he was abusive (he clearly was battling his own demons) anyways I am now an adult and I will not be bringing a big family into this world because of how I grew up. We definitely had to survive and did little living, I am 24 and have never been happy. I never got the attention or love I needed and many of my siblings feel the same way. We now have to work through all the trauma. I’m glad you are all mature and were able to have a conversation to move past the different views caused by different life experiences. It is easy to judge someone it is a lot more difficult to have a conversation that’ll lead to understanding.

I believe having a lot of kids is the way it’s meant to be. As long as the parents are present, kids thrive when they have older and younger siblings to interact with and learn from. It teaches them responsibility!! A lot of single children or even families with 2-3 kids, end up coddling and spoiling them. Growing up in a big family is the best way for them to learn responsibility!

My father was 55 when I was born and he was the youngest of 7. My grandparents were born in the 1800s. Of course, at that time birth control wasn't a thing and infant mortality was high. A few miscarriages and a few babies who died young was common... I really like the structure of a large family because older siblings also take on responsibility for the little ones, and it's such an energetic but also supportive environment. Small families can be isolating. In bigger families, there is always company and someone to talk to. I used to think how awesome it would be to have a big family like yours, but now I feel that the growing threats of overpopulation are on the horizon and I don't want to contribute to it, or see my children in the future suffer from wars over basic necessities. However, I think you have a beautiful family. 😍 The mixing of cultures reminds me of my own upbringing!

I liked your comment. My parents were older parents as well. My Mom was 45 and my Dad was 50 when I was born. All 4 of my grandparents were born in the 1890's. I don't believe large families in Western countries are necessary. In fact, they are probably more harmful than helpful. I completely agree or least understand what you mean about isolation but sometimes a person has to move away from family in the end anyway. I really like this family but I really struggled with their decision to have more and more children a few years ago when they were really struggling financially. It's OK to disagree with people you like sometimes

A big family is amazing... there's never room for loneliness. As long as you set a good example for your children and teach them in a way a queen/king would and should, raising children is the best accomplishment a mother or father can achieve. I am so disappointed that I never saw the grandmother smile or hug those children. One hug, a kiss, a mere smile could last a lifetime in the minds of those little children. They are totally innocent of anything negative that the grandmother thinks about who her son married. If she loves her son, she should not be racist and cold to her grandchildren. Joe needs to step up and respectfully let his mother know that her behavior is hurtful, cruel and wrong, and that he will not tolerate that around his wife and children. He looks so hurt and dejected. That grandma needs to be talked to and dealt with. She is hurting her son, his wife and family! Perhaps she is ashamed of the fact her son has married a dark skinned black woman, I don't know if the Korean culture frowns down on interracial marriages, but, his Joe's wife is wonderful, fun and has a great personality. What a waste of life and a heart for emotionally caring and responding to other human beings. Sad, if all this grandmother can respond to is bowing. I would never bow to her or her culture. Who the hell does she think she is? She is hurting Joe, who loves his wife and his children. It is easy to see the hurt in his eyes. His mother should have been shown the door, immediately, in the presence of Joe's wife and grandchildren, after she was told that her disrespect to his family will not be tolerated. And, would ask her to not call or come by unless she apologizes to Joe's wife and his children. And, she should promise not to do that ever again. And then, Joe and his wife should give themselves time to talk about her apology. Like wait a few months. As she can apologize over the phone. Even if it takes a lifetime for her to apologize, if ever, I woukd never expose my wife and children to that kind of racist and humiliation. Never and No Way.

The love, nurturing and caring of a grandmother for her grandchildren transcends and translates in all human cultures. Love is a natural humanistic quality you have, evidently, never experienced. No amount of reading about how other cultures work, could ever erase the damage, hurt, and pain of an innocent child, who is not properly nurtured, loved and cared for. It's not right, especially when it comes to the heart of an innocent child, who needs to know and feel they are loved. Damned Any Culture that permits that kind of behavior from, of all people, a grandmother. Even after an apology, I'd think long and hard before I ever consider her again. my children, husband and wife to that grandmother again. I completely understand why it would be awkward after or even their feelings may be hurt but she is still allowed to not be happy about it if she doesn't feel that way. We have no clue exactly why she feels how she feels while so many in these comments are assuming and this family is only going to share what they want to share and that's ok as well but we as fans only see what they want us too. So what if they are learning Korean, those children, Joe and Maze don't deserve to be mistreated and disrespected by that Korean grandmother. Joe looked so hurt, embarrassed and ashamed of his mothers reactions to hear about Maze's pregnancy. That is none of his mothers business. Joe needs to stand up to his mother and let her know that he will not tolerate her seemingly racist and horribly awful behavior to his family. And, he should demand an apology in the most respectful manner he can do. And whether his mom apologizes or not, he and Maze should think long and hard about exposing thier family to the grandmother for long time. Children need love and nurturing for a lifetime. A hug, a kiss, or any type of affection from that grandmother would have been cherished for a life time. It is highlt necessary in the guturw development of those sweet children. That is the heart and soul of an innocent child we're talking about. Sheesh. Damned a culture that has no respect for the love, heart and soul of a child.
