There is Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) - perhaps you have covered that and I missed it. They are using some of the above substances AND have added H1 inhibitors (antihistamines) eg cetirizine hydrochloride, to control mast cells. Another study I saw looked at Interstitial Cystitis, Irritable Bowel etc, and found the culprits were histamine, bradykinin and heparin. Some of that would be mast cell, maybe all, but they did not venture into OTC substances that might help. There were also resident bacteria - a form of e-coli - living in the bladder wall that did not leave using typical antibiotics at usual dosage and time frames. I had heard before that bacteria set up in the bladder walls. I had also read that schistosme worms cover themselves with host bacteria to protect themselves from the immune system. While schistosomal infection is not considered a serious contented in northern climates, I wonder about the people who have come in contact with aquarium water which has a variety of snails from tropical countries and may also sneak in on plants sold for aquarium use. I have raised tropical fish and numerous types of snails for 59 years. The mechanism for IC seemed to be repeated infections leading to over-reaction and chronic activity of mast cells.
