I love the redesigns. My personal headcanon is that Rarity and Fluttershy have darker skin tones than Twilight simply because as someone who is an indoors girl, I'm pretty sure that's the only reason why I'm pale af as a Hispanic. So it makes sense to me that Twilight would be pale in comparison to the other girls. Like Fluttershy would be outside to hang out with animals and Rarity strikes me as the type to have a good skincare routine so she would definitely go outside in the sun more than Twilight. Idk why but Fluttershy seems like a sweater and leggings type of girl. Like yeah she's shy (so she'd probably wear a baggy comfortable top), but she's more feminine than Twilight and she has to be able to run after her pets if they get scared. A dress isn't cutting it. And her hair could probably be in a half up half down style. I have strong opinions on her because I loved her a lot growing up. I'm a mix of Twilight and Fluttershy 😂
I remember hating the movie lol. I even cried when I got the doll for Christmas. I had a reason though. It scared me. I was like five and for some reason my biggest fear was being transported to an alternate universe where I was a pony. I wasn’t afraid of alternate universes, no. If it was ducks or dogs or gibbons I’d probably be happy but ponies I don’t know what was with them. I wasn’t even afraid of ponies just becoming them!
AAAAA I LOVE THESE I started rewatching the show recently and the earlier designs in the show are absolutely atrocious😭 I love your take on them!! they have so much more personality and are finally wearing something that they'd actually wear lol
I personally really like dark skin Twilight designs, it looks so nice with the purple and magenta. Rainbow Dash I've never been able to decide, I could see her as just tan like Applejack, or morena like your drawing. I could see her as tallest or shortest, I don't really know what to think of her 😅
I love the idea of Indian Twilight!!! I actually always head cannoned rainbow dash as Indian and Twilight as brown (more specifically Latina!) but I love the way you interpreted them as humans!
I'm a little late to say this, but I think that by human standards Twilight could be mixed, in the pony version her mother is light beige and her father is a dark blue tone with curly hair, making her an intermediate between light and dark skin tone.
i love this A LOT! i know they designed the characters like that because its a show for little kids (mainly targeted twoards them) so its not a mystery as to why they made their designs so bland, but when you put it into perspective as a fandom/ as your own idea, would've love to seen more diversity in the equestria girls designs since i was really insecure about my color and body as a kid, it also just fits them so much more
Twilight and Rainbow Dash looks really good but I think Rainbow Dash’s skin is a little too dark in my opinion But I’m not really a big fan of Rainbow Dash wearing a skirt she looks good in it but that’s not her style but I really like her in those Rainbow pants but I think u did a really good job

My headcanons for their ethnicities are: Twilight is indigenous Rainbow is Italian Fluttershy is Korean Pinkie is black Applejack is southern (like she's totally a Georgia girl) Rarity is either a white or Asian Brit depending on my mood Sunset is Irish (and also the cousin of Starlight who's Greek) Also they're CANADIAN except Rarity and pplejack I'm sick of them being all made Americans when it's a Canadian show
Your Twilight having loose clothes also makes me think, if we're following the movie canon, she would not be used to wearing clothes constantly, so looser clothes would feel nicer. Also i adore the design of your avatar
My personal favorite character is pinkie pie I’m pretty sure not a lot of pet like her but I think I like her so much because she was how I wanted to be when I was younger and she was like my scape goat from real life😂
These are very beautiful designs I enjoy them a lot I can't wait to see you the next few parts and maybe do some more of the side characters in MLP that'd be pretty cool but it's your decision it's your channel and these are amazing anyways I can't wait to see more❤😊

I have a similar idea where Humane 7 has real-world cultural heritages. For example, Twilight with Persian or Punjabi Indian, RD with Hispanic, or Fluttershy as Yiddish.

Paternal grandma most likely, if we're reading coat color as semi-equivalent to skin color.

No one had a problem with white mane six because it makes sense. They all suppossed to be american and they are from very similar backgrounds. Manehatten literally has the ponified Statue of Liberty. And yes US is racially diverse, hovewer in the show ponies that supposed to represent non-american races/nationalities are portraited very distinctly e.g Saffron Masala as Indian, Zecora as African, Fleu de lis as French, the ''Saddle Arabia'' delegates and Hoo'far as Saudi Arabian. With all that, mane six are very clearly white american. But I digress. I think we can both agree that neither of us are going to change our minds on that matter.
