Yes! I thought so too, I think I cut out the part I said that by accident haha, not really useful for me since i'm not doing it traditionally but great for everyone who is!
At least you've got a variety of black inking/writing pens you can use going forward in regards to your traditional artworks as well as any sketchbook stuff
I'd never heard of Scawler Boxes until this video but I LOL'ed when she said "I don't know what you would do with so many markers" and then pulled out the Featured Artist card which is obvi made with a bunch of black ink but didn't make the connection. She just answered her own question and then said "aww this is nice" and tossed it back in the box. Still laughing a bit
Yeah I’m impressed she didn’t figure out that the featured art is what you’re supposed to be able to create with the supply’s because I’m a sketch boxer and they really push my artistic ability because they are almost never your art style 😂
I thought so too and I also thought it was a great way to test out different pens to find the brand/style you like best. And I like that they sent them like that rather than me having to go to a store and look at all the different pens and try to pick a variety to try while comparing prices etc. This way they just put a bunch in a box you pay a set price and there you have it - instant trial of different pens.
Derwent Inktense are ink blocks not regular watercolours, they're... interesting! I prefer them in the pencil form than in the faux-watercolour pan form.
Inktense bloks are ink in the form of blocks like watercolour. They are watersoluble when wet, but not after they dry. So you can paint like watercolours, but after the paint dries, you can not work it anymore. Derwent graphik liner is a paint liner ;) Sorry, i do mixed media, so.. :) I love Inktense, because you get the look of watercolour and you can mix them with many other things and they won't bleed :D
I have a swatch up on my wall of Derwent inktense colours, in front of a window, and its been up over two years. They don't fade. The colours are still gorgeous and jewel like. They are dye based, and great if you want to dye fabrics. They do lift, Ive wetted my swatch and after all this time its re-workable. However, I still think they are incredible . I found them to have a steep learning curve for novices. I think using the pencils and also taking the paint from the ends with a brush is the best way to start out, giving you more control.
Been using sketch box for about 5 months and I loved every box. I was able to find a use everything they sent me and when my 6 months are up I’m going to renew my subscription. 100% love it and it’s so nice having something to look forward to.
I think Scrawler Box would be the best subscription box for the money. Thanks for making this video because I have been trying to figure out which subscription box I would like to order. Awesome video!
There is a new one in production insta @da_vinci_box coming out soon. Founded by yours truely. I'd love to know your thoughts, what contents you'd like to see, features you like/dislike in art sub boxes. fbook @davinciboxartists insta @da_vinci_box
I've improved so much in my traditional art from getting Sketchboxes because of what I've learned about supplies and paper. I've also found watching unboxing/swatching videos on youtube helpful as well. I am pretty much in love with Derwent Inktense from all the things you can do with them.
I used to get sketch box and loved that you would get things you may not always have brought yourself. I only stopped because I couldn't afford it once I went to uni. I would love to get it again or maybe another art subscription box and try to create an art piece from what was supplied in the box each month.
I really like the boxes that have sort of a theme. While you run the risk of getting a whole box of stuff you don't use, to me, a bit of the point of these boxes is to be introduced to new types of art. I'd be happier getting an entire box of products that can be used together, rather than a box of some watercolour, some pencils, some markers etc. And darnit, now I wanna get a subscription!
Love ScrawlrBox, I mean, it's great quality stuff, and you get really cool things. Using ScrawlrBox helps you get out if your comfort zone and experiment, because you get completely new things in each box. Btw I freaking love FaberCastel pitt artist pens.
Scrawlrbox. I live in Scotland and the postage is free, so it's amazing value. I'm only into my third monthly box and loving it! £15 is great value and the individual prices add up to way more, consistently. Chloe, the black pens were a mixture of warm and cold tones, and obviously nibs. It really was to help set people up for Inktober, but I just found it a great way to try out new products. 😻
I honestly love ScrawlrBox, I've been subscribed since May. They provide so many different items, it helps me practice with different mediums and tools.
I've been using scrawlr box for 3 years and honestly it's always really good quality, the artwork is the inspiration behind the materials and there is a monthly theme. They just gave me a pin for 50 subs so I'm a bit biast but I love this box. I dont think I'd like the crafty boxes you have opened at all!!
I'm actually watching while drawing with the supplies from my premium October Sketchbox. It was all ink this month and they even gave me a little sketchbook. Absolutely love them.
I think the one with the full watercolor set would be my preferred box.. They seem to pay attention to detail and what people will really use! 💖 Sketchbox
When you said that you never heard of Koh-i-noor I was totally shocked haha. I'm Czech and the brand is from here. It's very popular, has a really good quality art supplies for a good price but I already experienced many bad ones. It's not THAT good as Derwent for example. But their Progresso pencils are something kids use once they enter elementary and many artists love them because of their rich colour as well. Btw. Amazing video again! I love art subscription boxes although I never had one and watching videos like this always makes my day :)
Tess T thank you for giving me some info on that! I would definitely be interested in seeing more from the brand! I can’t say I’ve seen it too much here but maybe it’s because I wasn’t looking enough haha! I love that I get to try these different products from all over the world, really great way to be introduced to new things :) I’ll have to look out for the Progresso pencils! Thank you very much for your lovely comment :)
I have personally been subscribed to both art snacks and scrawlrbox and I have kept up with my scrawlrbox just because I am constantly given awesome new art supplies that I have loved. I think that out of art snacks and scrawlrbox box, scrawlrbox is the most worth it based on the quality and quantity of art supplies and each month I’m introduced to a new artist. Loved the video btw ❤️
Msboochie2 They are an interesting medium. I think Lachri fine art has a couple of videos where she has done full art pieces with them, might be worth a look at for you until Chloe tries them out. 🙂
Not even just those who draw manga and anime. A lot of professional artist in general do inktober. I actually think it was started by a professional illustrator if I remember correctly.
I love Artsnacks! Every subscription box has their hits and misses but Artsnacks doesn't just give you a whole bunch of one product. They give you a variety of supplies in one box that you can use to make a good piece of art. 😊
I'd love to see what artwork you can come up with using maybe just the contents of one or two art boxes! Or maybe a more in-depth review of each item from these boxes? (Especially the black markers...why are there so many?! Are they all different?) Loved the video, and it definitely shed some light on what's really inside these little competing subscription boxes! I think that I'd have to choose the scrawlrbox as my favorite, simply based on value for your money. And I love the artist spotlight mini-prints!!
I love watching Drawingwiffwaffles’ videos! I actually probably wouldn’t have known about those art subscription boxes if it wasn’t for her. I haven’t tried any of them out myself but from watching her videos of different boxes I think I like the Scrawlrbox one the best! 😊💗
I tried art snack and sketch box when they first became available. What you opened, were by far, a much better value than what I received at that time. Thanks for showing this..
I have sketch box, it's different month to month....great for someone like me that is self taught. I have no formal education or training in art since high school. I like they offer me a chance to see and try things I normally would not try. Then I can explore and go further on my journey! 1 box you opened had my favorite inking pen, the red Japanese double ended one, it's in my everyday travel/desktop for my style of drawing. I always love your channel, it's very interesting, very informative, and your extremely charming.
Thank you for making this video! I've been thinking about buying an art subscription box but wasn't sure which to go with. This is nice way to see how different the are.
The water colour pens you got come in standard colours too! I actually own a 9 pen set of standard colours and they are really good for maybe calligraphy or just general pieces of art 💜
I know this is old, but here's a cheat sheet for how to pronounce Japanese vowels, because they always sound the same no matter what (except 'su', which is sometimes just 'ss' and sometimes actually 'su') - A = 'ah' as in father, E = 'ey' like the letter 'a' I = 'ee' like the letter 'e', O = 'O' like the letter 'o', U = the 'oo' sound like in 'soup'. The only exceptions are the sound 'su/tsu' for which the 'u' is generally silent and 'ou', for which it sounds like 'o' but you hold the sound longer. Any doubled vowel you just hold longer. Example from the video; "Fude" is pronounced "Foo-day". Another thing to consider with Japanese words is that, except things like doubled vowels or 'su', you tend to pronounce each syllable, and the stress is always the very first sound (SAH-kura, not Sah-KU-ra)
lovely review hon. I've recently started Scrawlr box up after seeing lots of you-tubers using them. I just love it, but like you said, some months are better than others! As for those watercolours Scrawlr box provided... I'd 'just' started with that medium so it was very welcome and has become my main pallet!
Oh they are lovely quality aren't they? I've actually abandoned my other set in favour of these:) And yes! The timing really couldn't have been better!
Now that I see their box compared to others, the scrawlrbox is so well packaged for art supplies. Paper can barely crumple like that and pens that have any sort of ink in them are always better transported layed down. Their packaging is really optimised for art supplies.
Thank you for listing the supplies you got in the boxes in your description box! It may seem like a little thing, but it is greatly appreciated :) Lovely video as always! Keep up the great work.
Edding is one of my favorite art supplies. Haven't seen them commonly in America yet... or at least where I live. But they work just like microns and they don't smudge with alcohol based markers
Those colour pencils are good quality. My dad (born in the uk) went back to visit my brother who now lives there . He brought me back a large set of those. I saw them in south africa where we live and was shocked at the price. They do seem worth it. I must use them more.
I love the red double ended brush! My favorite for a good black ink. I recently had to buy another one and I forgot how much it was, but the price is definitely worth the quality. 👍
I love your videos!! I started following you about two weeks ago and I think you're amazing! You're doing a great job with all your videos. They are fun to watch and very enjoyable. I really like when you're doing comparisons with products bought from Wish and shopping hauls. Keep up the good work! 🤗🤗🤗♥️
This video was so helpful. I've been thinking of subscribing to an art supply box system and seeing the three different ones next to each other, suuuuper helpful
They probably gave you all the black pens and markers so you can try the different types and see what you like best. But all around very consistant theme from the black tissue paper to the black candy..
This is really cool! Thankyou for introducing me to this . I’m really enjoying your channel, your so funny and adorable, but I’ve also learnt a few things. So thankyou!! :) xx
The funniest thing to me is how Chloe calls the little papers "little demons" And absolutely despises them, And Waffles calls them "maggots" And loves them.
This was a fun video! I like that you have several different subscription boxes and that, by accident, you even have two of some! That makes a great comparison video, because you see one person discover different kinds of boxes in one go. I think, in general, art subscription boxes are something you have as a little something extra. Not because you want a great deal or you look for certain products. But merely because you like to explore beyond your safe zone. And for that purpose I think all three brands have great content. I like how they all have a theme. Some are by colour theme, others are by media theme. But it’s a great way to try new things if you have the money for this extra service. With the black marker box, you mentioned how you normally wouldn’t buy all those different markers that are also quite the same. But maybe, if you look at it on a longer period of time, you might realise you have done exactly that with quite some products. I know when it comes to pens and markers, I’m guilty as sin 😁. But I might have spread the purchases over a few years in stead of buying them all at once. But I’m always in to try a new pen to see if I like it better than what I currently use or to see if I like it as much as all the people recommending them. I think when I collect every black pen and marker I have, I’d probably end up with way more than the total of this box 😁 And again, I think that’s the strong point of these boxes. I also like those boxes where they provide you with every single bit so it would be possible to make art without having to grab anything else than what’s in the box. I think that’s why so many of those boxes have a regular HB pencil in it. I like that ArtSnacks had theirs personalised. It turns a simple pencil into a bit of a gadget. I’m on a tight budget, so I can’t afford those boxes, but I love watching videos about them! And sometimes that inspires me to go buy one of the items I see, because I really want to try that for myself! 😁
I really liked the last one with markers, because I do use them a lot. But the thing is, they should include different tip sizes. And the one with full watercolor set is amazing as well!
I got a large triangle shape pencil in an art snacks box and when I first saw it I thought that I would never use it. But I tried it and I love it so much. I don't usually even like pencils.
Btw, Koh-i-Noor is a czech brand and they make really amazing ink. If you ever get a chance to get a bottle of their black ink - go try it! It's water and copic proof and doesn't rub off if you erase something.
4:40 And 10:55 these art supplies are from Czech Republic And they are very popular in here. I personally have both of them and I like them a lot. I especially like that eraser
I'm an art supply junkie, and enjoyed my 3 month premium subscription - eventually I will restart my subscription. What I liked was the variety of supplies I got in my 3 boxes...inktense pencils, pens, inks, tinted charcoal (that was my favorite). I'm all over the place with the supplies I use, so Sketchbox was the perfect fit for me. I will say, though, you can find most things cheaper on other websites, so the 'value' of the boxes can be questionable. That being said, I received things I never would have bought otherwise, so I was always a happy camper. I would have been disappointed in that last Skrawlerbox...all pens and markers and all in the same black color.
I personally use Scrawlrbox for art supplies because I believe you get a pretty decent deal and it ships from the UK so I get to try different candies than what I have where I live.
I love Sketch Box, I had the premium membership for almost 2 years. The only reason I stopped was due to finances, as the premium is $35 I think (it's been a while). Main downside to any subscription is you will get things you don't like, don't use, and possibly some duplicates. Overall worth it in my opinion though if you can afford it.
SO...many...art...supplies...
*passes out*
Lol
Sup dude
You guys should trade art supplies maybe!
You and chloe should do an art collab
**says the guy that’s giving away over $5000 worth of art supplies** 😂 lol I love your channel
The second scrawlr box was an Inktober themed box, hence why it was different black pens
Yes I was gonna say the same! Very useful for whoever wants to do traditional media inktober! Not so much for everyone else though lol
Yes! I thought so too, I think I cut out the part I said that by accident haha, not really useful for me since i'm not doing it traditionally but great for everyone who is!
At least you've got a variety of black inking/writing pens you can use going forward in regards to your traditional artworks as well as any sketchbook stuff
Yeah, wont have to worry about buying new pens or markers for a while 😂

I wanna get a subscription box now!!
SuperRaeDizzle scrawlrbox was my fav! 😬😶 you should definitely try them out!
You aren't actually Rae are you? How did your comments get lost!?
SuperRaeDizzle I love scrawlr box the best but you can choose
PLS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO GET ONE FOR QUIET A WHILE NOW

That's what I thought she was doing
@@randomrando1292 me too, I thought she was going to draw a big artpiece with all of the supplies!
Chloe apologizing for having ink on her hands is funny because whenever she does a video she ends up with art supplies on her general human
Heaven Harris ......this is very true
In the scrawler boxes, most of the art supplies are based on what the featured artist used in their featured peice
Oh that's cool. I didn't know that
I'd never heard of Scawler Boxes until this video but I LOL'ed when she said "I don't know what you would do with so many markers" and then pulled out the Featured Artist card which is obvi made with a bunch of black ink but didn't make the connection. Heheh... the art snacks boxes come with "menus"... for the art... snacks... food... menu...
Alright I'll leave now.
Lol
Why did I laugh at this
I read that as "meen-yous"
Lol. That’s funny.
Nuuuu don’t leave!
I think the second scrawlrbox might have been an inktober box!
definitely seemed like it yes!

Same with me and my Srawlrbox. If I had more money, I would subscribe to both.
I like that the Sketch Boxes gave you everything you would need to complete an illustration, except for paper.
The derwent colour set is Inktense, which is not just any water colour, but actually more like ink (dries waterproof). They are amazing :)
I think Scrawler Box would be the best subscription box for the money. Thanks for making this video because I have been trying to figure out which subscription box I would like to order. Awesome video!

it’s funny how all boxes have something related to derwent in it
nhatduy dang yeah! It’s a great brand though so I’m not surprised 😀
I mean, Derwent is great though.
Conspiracy theory?? I think so
I subscribed to scrawlrbox since it gives you everything you need to make an illustration plus a prompt
Now that I see their box compared to others, the scrawlrbox is so well packaged for art supplies. Paper can barely crumple like that and pens that have any sort of ink in them are always better transported layed down. Their packaging is really optimised for art supplies.
scrawlrBox is amazing! :'O Looking at their previous boxes are all amazing as well. They seem great for using supplies out of your comfort zone
Something about this channel is perfect on UA-cam's algorithm I see her in so many people's recommended feeds
Thank you for listing the supplies you got in the boxes in your description box! It may seem like a little thing, but it is greatly appreciated :) Lovely video as always! Keep up the great work.
Because of you I now am a subscriber of Scrawlrbox and I love it...Thanks!!!
We love the Japanese Calligraphy brushes in our household.
OMG and inktense set! You might enjoy the aquarel graphite water soluble pencils.
I love the red double ended brush! My favorite for a good black ink. I recently had to buy another one and I forgot how much it was, but the price is definitely worth the quality. 👍
I’ve received Sketchbox for over a year and for the most part - think they provide some pretty interesting supplies. I’ve used a good number.
Oh my god thanks for doing this me and my mom were looking at all of these to decide witch one we wanted this helped a lot :)
I love your videos!! I started following you about two weeks ago and I think you're amazing! You're doing a great job with all your videos. They are fun to watch and very enjoyable.
I really like when you're doing comparisons with products bought from Wish and shopping hauls.
Keep up the good work! 🤗🤗🤗♥️
There was a scrawlerbox featuring drawing wiff waffles omg I enjoyed it so much
I’m loving the box with the pencils in it I draw mostly with pencils and colored pencils so yay
This video was so helpful. I've been thinking of subscribing to an art supply box system and seeing the three different ones next to each other, suuuuper helpful
Man, I need that second scrawlrbox, great stuff for inktober
They probably gave you all the black pens and markers so you can try the different types and see what you like best. But all around very consistant theme from the black tissue paper to the black candy..
I've been making my Inktober videos/drawings with everything from the September Scrawlrbox! 😁 So that one has been super helpful
Black Jack's are a popular sweet in the UK 😁
Really great to see a video with a product available here (without having to pay loads for shipping!)
😂 lol!
OH MY GOD! TINY WATER COLOR SET SOOOOOOO CUTE
I have sketch box and I love it!! ❤😘 I got oil pastels, watercolor pencils, watercolor postcards a d lots more!! 😇
Just by the thumbnail, I thought this was an ad for Auntie Ann’s 😂
Crystal BEST PRETZELS
Chloe Rose Art agreed!
Best ever pretzels . I thought the same
Bwahahahahhahahaahhahahahaaaaaa
You should try Paletteful Packs!!! Loved seeing all these boxes!!! 😍😍😍
You and waffles are my fav art youtubers
I believe that the Kuretake brush pen, would be ideal for Oriental Caligraphy!
Personally I think Scrawlrbox has the best value as in GBP it is £15 and you get alot more than you pay for! 🎨
I tried Sketchbox and Paletteful Packs and have kept Paletteful because every month it's so interesting and different!
Wow I did not know so many different art boxes existed this is very cool
I really liked the last one with markers, because I do use them a lot. But the thing is, they should include different tip sizes.
And the one with full watercolor set is amazing as well!
Lola02 couldn’t agree more! I was very impressed with scrawlrbox :)
In my opinion scrawler box is my personal favorite. I buy them every now and then.
yesss omg i love those art stix brush pen looking legos!!!
it's all fun and games until you accidentally step on them hahaha xD
I absolutely LOVE DrawingWiffWaffles!!!
I got a large triangle shape pencil in an art snacks box and when I first saw it I thought that I would never use it. But I tried it and I love it so much. I don't usually even like pencils.
You should attach magnets and create a z-pallet of those water colours and any other loose ones like they do with makeup
Scrawlr box gives you things to make a drawing in them. It's like a challenge in each box in a way
Btw, Koh-i-Noor is a czech brand and they make really amazing ink. If you ever get a chance to get a bottle of their black ink - go try it! It's water and copic proof and doesn't rub off if you erase something.
I figure after clicking 3 of your videos with my own will I should probably just subscribe, loving this 👏🏻
4:40 And 10:55 these art supplies are from Czech Republic And they are very popular in here.
I think that the screwler box was the best xx
Love the video! and i really hope you enjoyed the black jack!! i was rather shocked you hadnt tried them xD
I would have LOVED that SketchBox, but I primarily use pencils. :)
Great review, it was so helpful to see you compare different subscription boxes. I have been wondering what each box offers.
Yayyy!!!!!!! You finally tried Scrawlrbox!!!!
I personally use Scrawlrbox for art supplies because I believe you get a pretty decent deal and it ships from the UK so I get to try different candies than what I have where I live.
I could have so much fun with all of those pens, I love ink!
I have been wondering what the scrawlrbox is like so thank you so much for this video. ❤️
