@@SuperEman500 It does. There are a few kits out there that can make the NC1 2017-2021 look better than the Type-S like Aimgain carbon fiber kit. You’ll want a different metric for measuring “oomph” when you bring electric motors into the mix. After all, electrics deliver 100% torque @ 0 rpm, plus in NSX’s case, the electrics fill in the gap nullifying turbo lag.
The NSX was designed mainly focused on track use, like the old one. Fast 0-60, anti-lag and torque vectoring. Not much for drag racing, although it did alright.
Love the nsx, but I test drove a r8 a year back and ever since I’ve been hooked and been saving up for one! Granted I’ve never driven an nsx, but I’ve loved the R8 ever since I was young 😩
Love the NSX and it's a great deal right now - my only apprehension is that it's the same price as a GT3 and that's a better sports car and most importantly, the engine of the NSX scares me, it's a Cosworth built V6 and if ANYTHING breaks you are looking at a $50k+ engine replacement. The GT3 has been proven reliable and that would tip the scales for me at least.
Cosworth only sandcasted the block and heads but it's Honda 100%. I just hit 28,000 miles on my 2018 with full bolt-on, JB4 running 100 octane for most of its miles on road courses, drag strips, rallies, canyon carving and daily commutes. ZERO ISSUES. Also it's been through two Arizona summers in the scorching 110+ degree heat boosting without issues. Even a Porsche can't withstand our brutal Arizona summers. Their brake fluid boils LOL.
Gen1 nsx was a reliable Honda with N/A V6 engine . Gen2 NSx won't be nowhere near that , heaving such of complicated powertrain. 2 turbos , 3 electric motors and battery packs. I wouldn't want to deal with that after factory warranty expires . I think these cars will drop on value like crazy as soon as the factory warranty expires as many people would be scared to keep a car with such of complicated powertrain
With these electric hybrids, the powerband is all about the first 4 or 5 gears and the 1/4 mile. After that, you can see that the V10 takes over. The NSX just runs out of steam past 120-125.
It's because electric motors are all about the low end push. When you're at high speeds the electric motors aren't doing much and because the car is a hybrid they usually have smaller less powerful engines.
Fun fact: The 2nd gen NSX originally was gonna have a V10 engine, but such a shame that Honda scrapped the V10 with a V6 Turbo Hybrid..still one of the best V6 supercars
You are comparing an audi v10 plus with 605 HP not the standard V10 with 532HP.. The starting price of the V10 plus is $40K higher than the NSX but you don't point that out
Loaded up the 2020 R8 GT is pretty close in price to a loaded NSX. Within 15k I would say. I also think it makes sense having owned them both, seeing and feeling their value and worth to me along with my desire to drive one over the other. If you can afford either there is no wrong answer imo.
I really like the NSX too. I wish it pulled harder a higher speeds. It’s biggest con’s is it’s lack of cabin storage space and cabin materials are a bit too Honda like. The pro’s are handling and it’s looks pretty exotic.
I love to add, r8 gets 10 mpg. Also, the fancy tft screen is actually a PIA with no touch screen interface. The NSX at 200k is ridiculous, but used prices make it a super car value
You thought the NSX at $200K was ridiculous? Wait until you see what Ferrari wants for the 296GTB with a smaller V6. $349K. You complainers will come to your senses when you realize Honda was giving them away and was far ahead of the game in 2016.
As a huge fan of the original recipe Acura NSX (particularly the 1999 only Zanardi edition or forbidden fruit NSX-R) I truly want to like the second rendition of the NSX. However, even after years have passed since the 2017 debut I just cannot see it as a good choice unless you absolutely want to be different. I think the R8 V10 looks better, sounds better, and obviously performs better...making it a really easy decision. Assuming they could have given the NSX something like 75-100 more horsepower, I might change my tune, but it's just not 'enough' for some of us to be happy at the price point. I do still respect them, and it's fun to see them in the wild, but my money would go towards an R8 V10 (base, RWS, or Plus) every single time. Great video...keep up the awesome work! (I just subscribed).
Real happy to see some respect the NSX for the right reasons. Nice job on this! It's a beautiful blend of technology and rare. Personally, I think this car will make a similar impact 20 years from now that the original one did

@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA also the Audi beat the NSX by over 2 seconds at Laguna Seca, 4 seconds on the Nurburgring, 2 seconds on the top gear track with the Stig driving both…sounds like it’s slower 🥴
No matter what, the NSX is just a huge missed opportunity for me. Sell the GT3 version for the road and I'll actually lust after it. The hybrid version is heavy, expensive, and unappealing.
R8 bogged off the line? Did it have launch control? If so, then that's a little bizarre. You should try and do a more in depth comparison with the base R8. That's definitely a better comparison. Edit - you said that at the end.
Just bought an NSX S a few days ago. I found the interior to be much more impressive than the R8 the R8 seemed like a Volkswagen inside. surprisingly as well the cockpit had more Room for me at 6’4”. After testing a ferrari Roma a mclaren 570s and Audi R8. I was surprised to find that the NSX was the only vehicle that had me grinning upon entering the cabin and driving. Steering response was absolute perfection ! Only thing I wish it had was a little more to that exhaust note! My M3 CS sounds like a demon in comparison haha
New owner or 2020 IYP here. My 76th car yes I had a lot of sports cars. NSX has probably the best USABLE power on the street (next to 911 turbos) and it's the second most LIVABLE one (again next to 911 turbos) I've owned to date.
I haven't owned 76 cars but quite a few and I agree. I have a 991.1 911 turbo and a 2017 NSX and you can Hammer them and they JUST GO, even on very cold days, if tires have some warmth. Most usable street power goes to my 2020 Tesla model S Raven lol.
I remember when the R8 was the poster car for Forza Motorsport. The v10 R8 is a tried and true recipe for a super car. It’s not a stretch that anyone with the means to afford these cars would choose that over the Acura. I want to like the Nsx but the R8 delivers the visceral power you’d expect from a super car. I can’t speak for the interior I’ve driven Honda and GM products all my life so the NSX is probably the Ritz compared to what I’m used to.
Personally, I like the looks of the Acura better. Add a Science of Speed downpipe and exhaust kit, and good to go! So between the two, that's what I'd choose (and I did! I own a '17 NSX with the exhaust kit installed).
Some bias here admittedly, but I drove an R8V10+ (2018 model) at a supercar experience track event. Made the noises, brakes were amazing, steering was whatever, but overall it didn't really knock my socks off. I've only ridden in an NC1 NSX but that was a different animal I'm a pretty experienced driver and I had to recalibrate my brain with the way that car could change direction and deploy it's hybrid system. Doesn't sounds as nice, maybe is heavier than one might hope, but holy crap can it dance given a wiling/able driver.
Completely valid points on the NSX. However, if I had that kind of coin to throw down, I would go for the R8 V10 Plus. I like the understated look of it, and that sound cannot be touched.

Thank you this was the race I really wanted to see.
I love the NSX.
Love ur channel dude
I think they should run again if Acura comes out with the NSX Type-R
How sick would that be. They need to for sure
@@supaahflyy Wrong! The TMU is in constant action all the way through.
Fun fact: The 2nd gen NSX originally was gonna have a V10 engine, but such a shame that Honda scrapped the V10 with a V6 Turbo Hybrid..still one of the best V6 supercars
Quality of the video just amazing
This video deserves two thumbs up
“Naturally aspired.” New powertrain? Aspirated. 👀
They both look awesome in black
Also love the flyby bits at the end of each race
Cool video. I've gotten mid to low 7s on my R8 V10 Plus don't know how you're getting high 7s to low 8s.
Launch didn't look that spectacular but I guess VBOX never lies.
Schedule an appointment with a chiropractor before you launch an NSX in track mode...
The nsx can be more fast if it was replaced with the '20,becuz nsx used on the video was '17
@@juan16thewanganracer98 Wrong the 2020 NSX is no faster than the 2017.
We'll yeah..... ...it's a Honda that's why. Ha!
@@sufficetosay The 2019+ NSX are faster than the 2017-2018 unfortunately.
@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA Wrong again.
Dude u are very very good at what u do. Enjoying watching all your videos in a row and only just found u. Subscribed 👍🏾
@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA that’s why nobody bought them new, but snapped them up at $130k. Prices now are crazy for everything
How about making one non hybrid NSX. Lighter car with a raw V6 turbo engine with 1000hp
Or an nsx with a NA v10 which is what they were originally going to do
@@strangeclouds7 Sounds good too.
Real happy to see some respect the NSX for the right reasons. Nice job on this! It's a beautiful blend of technology and rare. Personally, I think this car will make a similar impact 20 years from now that the original one did
R8 just for that V10!
I do r8 for everything
Super underrated channel!
Great channel, great vids ❗️❗️👍🏼👍🏼
NSX all day everyday! Cool channel, you bring a different game to UA-cam car enthusiast, I like it… not the same old you see everyday!! Good work guys!!!
NSX for sure
the Nsx has done 0-60 in 2.7-2.9 consistently and a 10.8 1/4
The fastest I've seen in a stock nsx was 10.94, and that was it's best time for the night
You buy the NSX for it's ability to corner. I would like to see the 2 compared on a road course. Super well edited video.
It would be considered prison rape putting an R8 against an NSX on it's turf. Ha!
@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA prison rape by a super car with 2 turbos and electric assist that got beat by a Camaro ZL1 😂😂😂
@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA also the Audi beat the NSX by over 2 seconds at Laguna Seca, 4 seconds on the Nurburgring, 2 seconds on the top gear track with the Stig driving both…sounds like it’s slower 🥴
@@ryanturnerbolesThat Camaro ZL1 was modded the NSX was stock and still put up a great fight
@@KoolieBhai lol the ZL1 that did those lap records was not modded 😂 You saying GM modified the ZL1 when it ran the Nurburgring?
Lol when one of my favorite UA-cam channels uploads right before I was gonna upload
What kind of rims are on the r8?
No matter what, the NSX is just a huge missed opportunity for me. Sell the GT3 version for the road and I'll actually lust after it. The hybrid version is heavy, expensive, and unappealing.
Beggars can't be choosers haha! Man you have lots of options of cars!
Great videography. Id be happy to donate my model 3 performance for a video.
Here from horsepower cartel....
Already loving this channel...
R8 bogged off the line? Did it have launch control? If so, then that's a little bizarre. You should try and do a more in depth comparison with the base R8. That's definitely a better comparison.
Edit - you said that at the end.
I'd choose the r8 plus. Looks just as sexy if not more, better interior and better performance all around.
Audi R8, Acura NSX, BMW i8, Aston Martin Vantage, McLaren 570S, and Lotus Evora. Just can’t get enough
💪😔👍🔥
Wish bmw would remake the i8. I always loved the styling but I wish it had the power to actually compete with supercars
I bought the NSX over the R8. Honestly the same reason you picked it. I don't see any at my local cars and coffee
What about Nurburgring lap times? And isn't the 2020 revision faster than the 2018?
Subscribed, cool channel
NSX cause of rarity.. and sure it does look a little more badass imho
Rarity cause no one is buying :/ so sad
@@Fatmouse25 sad and undeserved imo.
That’s why people buy Audi 😉
Can we race the NSX vs the GTR Nismo vs M8 competition
It is R8 been remap??
NSX
I love how in 2020 a 5.7l v8 is considered a beefy motor. Thats a damn small block.
Great Job Bro
Just bought an NSX S a few days ago. I found the interior to be much more impressive than the R8 the R8 seemed like a Volkswagen inside. surprisingly as well the cockpit had more Room for me at 6’4”. After testing a ferrari Roma a mclaren 570s and Audi R8. I was surprised to find that the NSX was the only vehicle that had me grinning upon entering the cabin and driving. Steering response was absolute perfection ! Only thing I wish it had was a little more to that exhaust note! My M3 CS sounds like a demon in comparison haha
Great video !
Would you take the NSX or 992S overall?
I can’t speak for the interior I’ve driven Honda and GM products all my life so the NSX is probably the Ritz compared to what I’m used to.
subscribed! Such a great channel!
Personally, I like the looks of the Acura better. Add a Science of Speed downpipe and exhaust kit, and good to go! So between the two, that's what I'd choose (and I did! I own a '17 NSX with the exhaust kit installed).
I was seriously thinking about going that route with high perf cats and titanium exhaust with a jb4.. I wondered if it would be worth it...?
@@sufficetosay I can’t speak to the JB4, but I love the Science of Speed downpipe/exhaust combo.
Damn I love your channel I new sub 👍💯 the quality and product of the video is 🔥
No doubt both are cool cars!
Wonder how the nsx type R would do
When are you going to review the Lotus Evora GT? ✌🏿
I would love to, need to find someone in the NorthEast region with one.
Hello,
For those that own an NSX. I'm assuming my 6'6 frame would not fit in one? I found one, it's almost 2 hours away. Figured I would at least ask
Thanks in advance
If I had the money I’d take the Acura and do a quick tune and know one would suspect a thing. Nothing beats a v10 note at the end of the day
3:28 How did you mount the camera to get this angle lol?
@YanzoDaDon GoPro Hero 9 mounted(with extension) from the driver side window. This partially obstructs the driver's view, so if there is a sunroof I usually mount it there.
