Great video, I have the Uniden BCD436HP seems super complicated to use. Or maybe I miss the good ole days of Low Band and a few frequencies, especially the old crystal scanners but I date myself there
You *_completely_* left out the LOWEST price alternative. SDR Trunk (free) and 2 $40 SDR dongles. Yeah, $80 for a TRUNKING SCANNER!! I set mine up on an 8 YEAR OLD laptop I wasn't using anymore, and it runs 24/7 decoding P25. It still doesn't do anything with the encrypted stuff, but neither do these!! PLUS you can get Short Wave, Ham, and even decode weather satellite images!!
@@frodeskibrek And so can SDR Trunk *with* LCN map. SDR can also be used as a shortwave receiver, HAM receiver, NOAA weather _satellite_ receiver *with* images & maps, ADS-B radar *with* maps, AM (MW) AND FM stereo receiver with RBDS. That and a few more, PLUS.... If you WANT to invest a few $$$ and line up a dish, GEOS satellites as well (live sat images 24/7). Is that BC 436 price tag still holding up?
If you're legit Then you can go to the county and request the encrypted channels and codes F.O.I.A But they are gonna want you're name and you're probably gonna end up talking to a sheriff, but make sure it's a meeting with a Sargent not a questioning in a interrogation room 😂 cuz they will try to friendly ask you there, deny that and request a formal meeting
the b365 is junk I have been a scanner fan since the berth of I also got the hand held and neather radio did anything except sit and look stupped becouse could not hear any thing for 12 hrs.
With all the digitally encrypted channels what's the point in a scanner today. Essentially you cannot listen to anything worth listening to today. No matter how advanced they are you only get parts and pieces of nothing. IN MY OPINION SCANNERS ARE DEAD AND USELESS.
Not everywhere is encrypted and there are still city’s using analog but yes most have gone digital if you buy a digital scanner you can hear everything as long as it’s not encrypted
They are not encrypted at all, its just digital. If you can make thw code plug you can listen. Most ham radio outlets have a scanner set up for this for you to see

Thanks for sharing
the 436 has been good to me i froze up the led's once and wormed it up and kept going
50 years later and 50 scanners down the rode never failed
What scanner will pick up police radio
UK emergency services cannot be listened to with a scanner. It’s legal in the USA though.
I don’t think its legal?? But I’m not sure……
the best radio base station I have had is my 996 and will reorder a436 I am still o;d shool.

Is there any devices which can listen to encrypted stuff? Like when the government is trying to fuck us
The 436 can take DMR / NXTDN etc.

Expensive trash

@@Fraket nope everything is going encrypted. I chose to spend 2k on a new yaesu hf and dmr radio
thank you, for your work!
Where I live police frequencies are encrypted so a scanner is useless for monitoring police here.
Hell yeah
Cool, I want 1 😢
Another AI "review' with repetition and fluff to make it longer.
I live in Williamson County, TN and bought a $700 scanner and can’t get anything because everyone switched to encryption . $700 Brick!
